Mamoswine demonstrates it’s a truly fearsome wallbreaker, threatening common Pokemon like Volcanion, Empoleon, and Hisuian Goodra. Ice / Ground is a dangerous STAB type combo that threatens much of the RU metagame, like defensive staples Hippowdon, Jirachi, and Registeel. It also has Ice Shard to pick off faster foes such as Noivern, Salamence, and Flygon. Knock Off prevents checks like Slowbro and Suicune from coming in safely and also discourages Talonflame from coming in, though it risks activating Flame Body against it. Tera Ice in conjunction with Never-Melt Ice can grant a guaranteed 2HKO on Talonflame and a potential 2HKO on Galarian Weezing. Bulky offense teams appreciate Mamoswine being able to threaten and remove Pokemon like Hisuian Goodra, Jirachi, and Chansey, so partners like Basculegion-F and Raikou can take advantage. In return, they both threaten checks in Slowbro and Talonflame and can give Mamoswine a free entry point by pivoting on foes like Hisuian Goodra and Chansey.
