VGC Make Koraidon Great Again

Miraidon this, Miraidon that. It seems like Miraidon always overshadows its more ancient brother. But I think that Koraidon has so much potential, just waiting to be uncovered. And I tried to with this team.

@ Clear Amulet
Ability: Orichalcum Pulse
Level: 50
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 156 HP / 116 Atk / 28 Def / 12 SpD / 196 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Collision Course
- Tera Blast
- Dragon Claw
- Protect

The star of the team. Being a physical attacker, Clear Amulet helps prevent Intimidaters like Incin and Lando-T from hindering its performance, as well as Icy Wind users. I chose not to use any Fire type moves, as I believe that Tera Blast Steel would be better coverage for the many special attackers in the format right now, like Flutter Mane and Tera Fairy Calyrex-Shadow. The EV spreads allow Koraidon to live an Astral Barrage and also a Icicle Crash from max attack Chien-Pao.

@ Choice Specs
Ability: Protosynthesis
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 100 HP / 156 Def / 108 SpA / 4 SpD / 140 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
- Power Gem

With Koraidon setting up the sun, Flutter Mane doesn't need the Booster Energy to give it its speed boost anymore. And even if the sun is gone, Whimsicott with Prankster can always come in and get it up again. I originally ran Life Orb with Flutter Mane, but it often resulted with her being too weak and getting Oh-KOed from many mons, so I decided that Specs would be just fine. She is trained to survive an Ice Spinner from Chien-Pao, and to outspeed Tornadus.

@ Focus Sash
Ability: Sword of Ruin
Level: 50
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sacred Sword
- Protect
- Ice Spinner
- Sucker Punch

Considering how Koraidon and Dragonite are both strong physical attackers, Chien-Pao is here to lower the opponent's defense and allow them to do even more damage. It also checks a lot of counters to this team, especially Ghost type attackers. Sash allows it to surivive on one with how frail it is, and also allows it to be built like a straight glass cannon. I decided not to run Icicle Crash on him as the amount of games I have lost due to it missing is enough to give me trauma for another lifetime.

@ Covert Cloak
Ability: Prankster
Level: 50
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sunny Day
- Tailwind
- Encore
- Moonblast

With Tornadus being on many teams, this team also needed a Tailwinder to counteract opposing teams. Speaking of Tornadus, I decided to run Whim instead of it because Tornadus usually prefers to run Rain Dance to support its team, as well as to ensure that Bleakwind Storm never misses. However, as this team rather likes the sun, Whim is simply the better option. Covert Cloak prevents Fake Out pressure from affecting it, and Encore provides pressure to Trick Room teams, as well as mons who Protect in order to stall out Tailwind turns, and more.

@ Choice Band
Ability: Inner Focus
Level: 50
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 196 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 4 SpD / 52 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Aerial Ace
- Outrage
- Stomping Tantrum

Dragonite is a classic partner with Chien-Pao. Extreme Speed with Swords of Ruin means a whole lot of damage, even without the Band. Inner Focus over Multiscale, as I believe Intimidate immunity is much better than tanking one hit more effectively. The EVs allow Dragonite to live a Specs Dazzling Gleam from Flutter Mane, and outspeed basically the entire meta with Tailwind, spare max EV Calyrex-Shadow. Stomping Tantrum gives coverage for Archaludon and Kingambit, and Aerial Ace covers Rillaboom and Annihilape, although I wish it had a stronger physical Flying type move that's 100% accurate.

@ Assault Vest
Ability: Protosynthesis
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 188 HP / 132 Def / 100 SpA / 52 SpD / 36 Spe
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Thunderclap
- Draco Meteor
- Snarl

And to round off the team, Raging Bolt is here to wall all special attackers and to neuter them. It can tank two hits from Specs Astral Barrage, and any move from Flutter Mane, and can tank a Icicle Crash from Chien-Pao. It can even outspeed Adamant Urshifus, given they're not scarfed. It also synergizes really well with Koraidon, with Protosynthesis boosting its already ridiculous special attack. Snarl will lower the special attack of the opposing team, and Thunderclap pressures opposing attackers, especially Kyogre and Urshifu-Rapid Strike.

Here to drop in a few things:

1. Your Calyrex-Ice MU is complete dogshit. No questions asked.

2. Your MU into CSR-GWeez stuff is also pretty scary.

Changes I propose:

:pmd/Koraidon:
Tera Blast --> Flare Blitz
Dragon Claw -- > Flame Charge
Tera Steel --> Tera Fire

Pretty standard, since the Koraidon set at this point has been set in stone (unless you try some kind of Choice item, being Band/Scarf or even AV). Flare Blitz already can OHKO Flutter Mane and Tera Fairy CSR while also doing better in Calyrex-Ice. EVs are good though.

:pmd/flutter mane:
Power Gem --> Icy Wind / Taunt

Again standard changes, Power Gem just doesn't feel too powerful in this format. You can run Icy Wind for Miraidon matchups and Chien-Pao matchups, or you can run Taunt to specifically stop Trick Room, but also stopping set up, redirection, or Spore.

:pmd/dragonite:
Aerial Ace --> Iron Head / Fire Punch (OPTIONAL)
I put optional here bc you are probably fine with Aerial Ace, but Iron Head and Fire Punch both apply more pressure onto Calyrex-Ice and Ogerpon-C, as well as Pokemon like Flutter Mane and Zamazenta-C.

Solid team overall
