I decided to build my first team around mega-lucario. Great special sweeper
With the need of a tank and also a combat to ground types, gengar seemed like a perfect choice
Now, for the lead. With a strong sandstorm start, t-tar would be there to start the ball.
had a choice between special and phisical wall. chose physical, and went with slowbro for that fighting coverage
if t-tar were to get killed before the sandstorm subsided, skarmory would pick up some slack, including adding and entry hazard
finally, i needed an alternate sweep. Added ground and grass resist made Dragonite the perfect choice
I was about to play my first game when showdown told me mega-lucario was banned to ubers. I was devastated. So I slapped mega-evolution on t-tar to eliminate that unnerve/sandstream choice
Details, Details:
Smooth Fists the Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
Evs: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
-Swords Dance
-Extreme Speed
-Aura Sphere
-Crunch
The core of the team. I was initialy going with mega-lucario, but he was banned. Which leaves him pretty useless. But formally, he is the main sweep. But his defenses are so bad, he usually can't survive the brunt of the battle. So usually, I leave him as clean-up.
Casper the Gengar @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
Evs: 4 Hp, 252 SpA, 252 Spe
Timid Nature
-Pain Split
-Subsitute
-Focus Blast
-Shadow BallThe main way I deal with ground types. I know that his stats are more sweeper than tank, but his typing and ability says otherwise. With ammunity to toxic, normal, ground, fighting moves, and others I haven't even analysed, your run-in-the-mill sweep can't get this guy. Besides, hecan substitute/pain split out of anything.
Tater-tot the Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sanstream
Evs: 4 Atk, 252 SpA, 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
-Stealth Rock
-Crunch
-Low Kick
-Fire BlastMy main lead. He's everthing you want to start off with: Strong, physically and specialy, fast, and no other defenses then the resonable ones he already has. Good coverage to take out most other leads before the stealth rock, and can usually take a bite out of a team with sandstorm up.
Douglas the Slowbro Leftovers
Ability: Regenerate
Evs: 252 Hp, 252 Def, 4 SpA
Bold Nature
-Ice Beam
-Slack Off
-Scald
-Thunder WaveSay hello to the physical wall, Slowbro. His ice beam can handle most dragons, backing up Dragonite. Slack of will give him the ability to stay in over long periods of time without fainting. Strategy: Thunder Wave, and ice beam/Scald to death!
Cassie The Female Dragonite @ Choice Band
Ability: Multiscale
Evs: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
-Outrage
-Extreme Speed
-Fire Punch
-EarthquakeIf you haven't guessed yet, she's the secondary sweep. Multiscale will help her survive her first outrage and can Extreme speed almost anything to death. Fire punch can eliminate those pesky ice types and earthquake to take out enemy sweeps.
Pitsburhg the Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
Evs: 232 HP, 24 Def, 252 Spe
Impish Nature
-Roost
-Spikes
-Brave Bird
-WhirlwindThe alternate and secondary lead. If I see that tyranitar will get smothered before stealth rocking, I send in Skarmory and he does the same. Or, if t-tar faints before the sandstorm subsides, skarmory can go in there and finish without getting buffeted.
Aeigislash: Earthquake and Ghost type. Can outspeed Gengar and rip my team by the seams
Electric types: I don't have a good way to handle them, and can plow through my team if I'm not careful/lucky.

With the need of a tank and also a combat to ground types, gengar seemed like a perfect choice
