Looking for app games math related for kids

Hi all, hope you are having a fun Friday.

I'm looking for app games for kids (to kill two birds with one stone) where they can have fun but at the same time improve their solving skills or concepts (not necessarily studying them but learning them by looking at how the game works).

I'm asking because I'd like to get my niece more motivated on her studies of science and math subjects and the one she needs the most help with is with math. She's in grade 6 and she's already getting some math help with this app but it doesn't provide much of the "fun game" part I'm looking for, it's more of a traditional way of practicing math. I know for example "angry birds" was inspired by the physics game "Crush the Castle" and it is adhered to physics laws and there are all these videos on YouTube where they explain the lessons you can take from angry birds..... well something like that but for math :tyke:

Anyways, sorry for the long post, does anyone know of a good game math app? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-AJ

It's not an app but Fire Emblem involves a lot of addition, subtraction, and multiplication with small numbers and is great for mental math while also not directly just making you solve problems as the core gameplay. You don't need to know that to have fun but I think it best fits your criteria of being able to learn more by looking deeper into game mechanics.

Otherwise I would suggest https://www.coolmathgames.com/ because it has a lot of games and some must be math-related.

when I was her age, my teacher would make us write out our every multiplication operations in a span of maybe 10-15 minutes, up to 15 and then would have us do our squares (which obviously was easier) up to 20, then cubing each number up to 20, EACH WEEK. Shit was fiercely competitive

The person to make it furthest won a Mars bar each week, which would be tossed at us at the end of the year, keeping them only if we caught them. My best friend at the time and I won most of them, and being (freakishly) fit from martial arts for an 11-12 year old (I had this teacher twice for two consecutive grades in a split class), i caught each and every one of them. I got maybe 20 mars bars each year lol.

anyways, the point of the story is that bribing children to do maths works. I was not a good student, I was motivated by competition and candy

Thanks!! good recommendation, yeah this works!

Super Auto Pets is pretty good for training rapid mental math. It’s free (pc or mobile), very kid-friendly, and contains lots of addition, subtraction, (simple) multiplication, etc. Could maybe help explain order of operations? Also just super fun.

Now I can now look at an opposing team and utilize my genius-level IQ to determine the winner before the battle occurs
