[SET COMMENTS]
Koffing serves as a reliable Toxic Spikes setter that can consistently take on Pokemon such as Machoke, Thwackey, and Dartrix. Pain Split keeps Koffing healthy, and allows it to often outlast the opponent's hazard control to ensure that Toxic Spikes stay up in the long run. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers and walls like Piloswine, Ferroseed, and Mareanie, preventing these Pokemon from taking advantage of Koffing. Koffing can alternatively run Corrosive Gas to remove Eviolites and other crucial items such as Raboot's Choice Band and Morgrem's Light Clay. Neutralizing Gas provides a huge amount of utility for Koffing and makes it far more reliable as a Toxic Spikes setter as it negates Hattrem's Magic Bounce. It also makes it far easier to wear down Magic Guard and Regenerator users like Tangela and Clefairy. Because it can nullify Machoke's Guts, Neutralizing Gas Koffing is one of the very few Pokemon that can switch into Flame Orb variants. Levitate is a valid alternative that enables it to counter Piloswine. Koffing prefers to invest in physical defense to better handle physical Grass- and Fighting-types like Thwackey and Machoke. A more specially defensive spread makes it a solid check to Roselia, but Koffing matches up poorly against common special attackers otherwise.

Koffing should be paired with teammates that can take full advantage of Toxic Spikes support. Pokemon with Protect or Substitute, like Substitute + Calm Mind Lampent and Wish + Protect Clefairy, become far more dangerous once their foes are poisoned. Thwackey benefits from Koffing's ability to pressure Tangela, and can U-turn into Koffing on a switch to Tangela to keep it low thanks to Neutralizing Gas cancelling out Regenerator. Koffing's greatest enemies are grounded Poison-types like Roselia and Mareanie who can absorb its Toxic Spikes. Hattrem can prevent these Pokemon from setting up hazards and force them out, or Earthquake Machoke could be used to lure in and knock out Mareanie. A good defensive partner for Koffing is Lickitung, who takes on special attackers like Lampent and Kadabra that force out Koffing out and can pass big Wishes to keep Koffing in good health. Koffing helps Lickitung out by switching in against Machoke.

Koffing serves as a reliable Toxic Spikes setter that can consistently take on Pokemon such as Machoke, Thwackey, and Dartrix. The high poison chance on Sludge Bomb helps to pressure hazard removers like Wartortle and Vullaby. Pain Split keeps Koffing healthy, and allows it to often outlast the opponent's hazard control to ensure that Toxic Spikes stay up in the long run. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers and walls like Machoke, Ferroseed and Klang and helps to wear down Mareanie (cutting down fluff), preventing these Pokemon from taking advantage of Koffing. Koffing can alternatively run Corrosive Gas to remove their Eviolites, but without Will-o-Wisp Klang is able to set up Shift Gears in front of Koffing without fear (while not entirely a necessary point it also isn't true, most klang now run sub and the few who don't are sleeptalk, i'd just leave this out really and change it to how it can cripple item reliant pokemon like pikachu, morgrem and hazard setters like roselia who may try to take koffing's passivity for granted) . Neutralizing Gas provides a huge amount of utility for Koffing and makes it far more reliable as a Toxic Spikes setter and a wall. as It it notably negates Hattrem's Magic Bounce along with Regenerator and Magic Guard users like Tangela and Clefairy. to prevent it from reflecting Toxic Spikes and helps to wear down Clefairy and Tangela by taking away their Magic Guard and Regenerator respectively. Because it can nullify Machoke's Guts, Koffing is one of the very few Pokemon that can switch into Flame Orb variants. Levitate is a valid alternative that enables it to counter Piloswine and Krokorok.

Pikachu is a particularly good Toxic Spikes abuser, as they make its Fake Out more effective and most of its switchins are vulnerable to Toxic Spikes and can be quickly worn down too low to handle Pikachu's attacks (this is too fluffy cute down the sentence after end or just merge this into a sentence where you have multiple mons together). Thwackey benefits from Koffing's ability to pressure Tangela, and can U-turn into Koffing on a switch to Tangela to keep it low. No mentions of set up users or wincons here? Koffing's greatest enemy is Mareanie (lol), who can consistently switch in and absorb the Toxic Spikes. (this isn't limited to just mareanie so i'd reshape this onto Toxic Spikes abusers like Mareanie and Roselia are Koffing' greatest enemies because blabla) Hattrem can switch into Mareanie safely and force it out, or you could try to lure it in and take it out with Earthquake Machoke. A good defensive partner for Koffing is Lickitung, who takes on special attackers like Lampent and Kadabra that force out Koffing out and can pass big Wishes to keep Koffing in good health. In return, Koffing switches in against Machoke.

Koffing serves as a reliable Toxic Spikes setter that can consistently take on Pokemon such as Machoke, Thwackey, and Dartrix. The high poison chance on Sludge Bomb helps to pressure hazard removers like Wartortle and Vullaby (Fluff, no need to justify a typical stab move) Pain Split keeps Koffing healthy, and allows it to often outlast the opponent's hazard control to ensure that Toxic Spikes stay up in the long run. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers and walls like Machoke Piloswine, Ferroseed, and Mareanie, preventing these Pokemon from taking advantage of Koffing (levitate is a slash and wisp only debilitates machoke if its ngass). Koffing can alternatively run Corrosive Gas to remove Eviolites and other crucial items such as Pikachu's Light Ball and Morgrem's Light Clay. Levitate is a valid alternative that enables it to counter Piloswine and Krokorok (C rank mon, not worth mentioning, countering pilo is good enough; Krokok also can taunt and beat down Koff anyways). Koffing prefers to invest in physical defense to better handle physical Grass- and Fighting-types like Thwackey and Machoke. A more specially defensive spread makes it a solid check to Roselia, but Koffing matches up poorly against common special attackers otherwise.

Thwackey benefits from Koffing's ability to pressure Tangela, and can U-turn into Koffing on a switch to Tangela to keep it low with Neutralizing Gas canceling out Regenerator (spelling this out for clarity + isn't true for levitate sets) . Koffing's greatest enemies are grounded Poison-types like Roselia and Mareanie who can absorb its Toxic Spikes. A more specially defensive spread makes it a solid check to Roselia, but Koffing matches up poorly against other common special attackers otherwise ("Otherwise" at the end makes it sound like the point is that Koffing can't check common special attackers without SpD investment, which is true, but misses the actual point that I think you're trying to make here: even with SpD investment Koffing still struggles with other common special attackers besides Roselia).

A good defensive partner for Koffing is Lickitung, who as it takes on special attackers like Lampent and Kadabra that force out Koffing out and can pass big Wishes uses Wish to keep Koffing in good health restore Koffing's HP. ; (remove period, add semicolon) Koffing helps Lickitung out by switching in against Machoke.
