Kirby Superstar Ultra: September 29th, new video, box art, new game modes confirmed

Both AvatarST and Tangerine had no idea Kirby Superstar (aka awesome mega super awesome best Kirby game ever greatest platformer on SNES on level of Mario and game that spawned Super Smash Bros) is being remade for Nintendo DS. I don't think many do. This might be because Nintendo never makes a big deal out of their real games and instead focuses on telling us about Wii Fit.

I think this was announced at the same conference we learned about Fire Emblem DS (remake of the game with Marth), Sonic in Brawl, and Monster Hunter 3 for Wii. I guess it's a little understandable that it could get lost in the hype of all that.

FUCK YES, DEDEDE P2 ASSIST. (I hope)

Firestorm just to double check, is Kirby Superstar the SNES game that allowed you to turn copied enemies into avatars that assisted you, controllable by computer/P2?

If so, FUCK YES, purchase confirmed. Goddamnit DS why do you get all of these amazing games, not the least of which will be a Fire Emblem 1 (and 3 hopefully!) remake

Ah hem....HELL YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I've been hopping for a remake ever since I heard Kirby Superstar music in Brawl.

OMG, YES, I was hoping they would do a remake to this game. This was by far my favorite SNES game besides from Super Mario World. My brother and I use to play this all time when we were younger. When is the launch date for this? *Please be soon*
 
Yeah got it for SNES, but i wouldn't mind to get the remake, that last screen with Dedede looks awesome, and Dynablade! <3.

That screenshot is Gourmet Race, not Kirby with DeDeDe Assist.

Yes, it's that game.
 
Anyone can fill me on why Kirby Superstar is considered the best Kirby game when compared to all the other Kirby games out there? I asking as a person who never played most if not any of the Kirby games since Squeak Squad.
 
EPIC EPIC EPIC EPIC UP YOURS KIRBY 64 LEARN FROM THE MASTER EPIC!

Kirby Super Star is epic for several reasons, the first being the great graphics, about 30 different powers, and best of all, Milky Way Wishes which allows you to switch between powers at any time once you find their ability.

It even includes never before seen powers like Ninja and Suplex. Beam is quite GG, so is Yoyo.

Nearly ALL of Kirby's Smash moves were inspired by Kirby Super Star.

Jab Combo: Fighter
Running A: (64 and Melee) Flame
Running A: (Brawl) Yo-yo
Up throw: Ninja
Back Throw: Suplex
Forward Throw: Suplex
Down Throw: Suplex
Up B: Cutter
Down B: Stone
Side B: Hammer
Side B: Hammer

Trust me, play KSS and you'll know the origin on about 80% of Kirby's Smash Bros. movesets.

-Multiple attacks per power (in earlier games, most powers had only one attack associated with them - in this, you've got 3-4 attacks per ability)
-Well-implemented multiplayer
-Good amount of challenge (completing the great cave adventure 100% takes awhile, and there are something like 5 different story modes)
-Awesome music; the home of Metaknight's Revenge, Gourmet Race, and Marx's theme (the original of which is better than the brawl mix IMO) among others
-everything else Deck stated
 
It seems that it disappeared into oblivion though.

Pretty much my exact reaction. Now all we need is a Super Mario RPG remake and I can stop complaining about Nintendo's gaffes (well, no Geno or Earthworm Jim in Brawl, but I can stop complaining about Super Mario RPG getting no love!) Come on Nintendo! If 17 million copies of Nintendogs can sell, then we can get Super Mario RPG some love! YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN!
 
Having only played a bit of SS, I personally prefer kirbys adventure for NES, but will most likely be buying this as it looks fantastic

I completely agree with you. All we need now is a remake to Super Mario RPG, and everything will be ok in the world, lol. I actually just started a new game on Rpg today because I felt like playing something really old but something really good.
