Kingdra now has two physical STAB options to go with Dragon Dance, Waterfall and Outrage, so this set takes advantage of this fact. Any user with Dragon Dance and STAB Outrage is quite fearsome, and Kingdra is no different. Furthermore, Kingdra can use it's unique typing to set up on weak attackers who can't hurt Kingdra too badly, such as Starmie or Vaporeon (watch out for Specs!).

Dragon / Water gives phenomenal coverage, being only resisted by Empoleon and Shedinja. When backed with STAB, Life Orb, and Dragon Dance; Kingdra can be quite an impressive physical attacker. Hydro Pump may seem redundant, but it will do significantly more damage against physical walls. For example, many Skarmory will never be 2HKO'd by a boosted Waterfall whereas Hydro Pump will 100% of the time. If used on a Rain Dance team, Skarmory will always be OHKO'd by Hydro Pump after Stealth Rock damage. If breaking down physical walls is of little concern Substitute can be used to protect Kingdra from Status attacks. Leftovers is the preferred item if you opt for Substitute. Lum Berry is also a decent option to prevent status effects and the confusion from Outrage.

The given Speed EVs given Kingdra a stat of 264, enough to outrun base 130 Speed Pokemon after a Dragon Dance. The remaining EVs were placed into maximizing Attack and then into Special Attack.

Add a Sleep Talk / Rest / Outrage / Dragon Dance set to this as it is the most common Kingdra set right now. EVs are 168 HP / 188 Atk / 152 Speed.

If you don't want to add it I will do a peer edit myself.

Feel free KD. I'm just posting the ones I've already had written up for a bit, I hadn't got around to doing that set.

Alright, when I use Kingdra, I find Substitute or Ice Beam to be more valueable. Why Ice Beam? You still get a handy KO on Gliscor (not to mention at 100% accuracy or lower in sand veil but think about how accurate Hydro Pump is...) and you no longer have to use outrage on things like Shaymin-S and Salamence and Celebi. Those are fair trade offs for not being able to 2HKO Skarm and Forre imo (who can be revenge killed by magnezone, hmmmm >:]). I have to check if Ice Beam can work with adamant or needs Naughty though. Also I think 252 Speed would be fine unless you need those spatk EVs, just to be able to tie with neutral heracross in a pinch, and other kingdra.
EDIT: Reading what gorm said I think the sub/dd set and dd/LO sets should be separated, they are quite different, and I wouldn't use LO with substitute either.

i really have to vouch for max hp on this set, rest in atk/speed for gengar with substitute@lefties.... max hp is so great for living through random unstab ice beam and sub gives you more subs.

That style of set plays completely different. You are using Kingdra's bulk to get several DD's as opposed to a few and start sweeping. I'd probably make that a seperate set with this as offensive DD and yours as defensive DD.

Dammit I'm so late. I wanted this set ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Split up the sets, Substitue + Dragon Dance as one with leftovers and a bulkier spread, and Dragon Dance + Life Orb should be the other. As I've mentioned numerous times, the entire Kingdra analysis needs a revamp because we have some sets that no one uses (pure special with Ice Beam and HP Electric???). Oh yeah, please mention Swift Swim as an ability option next to Sniper. IMO its the superior choice, since Sniper is shit.

Possessive.

The Speed EVs gives Kingdra a stat of 264
Sounds better. It sounds awkward to have "given ... given" or "given ... gives".

Thanks have a nice day ^^.

Since I'm taking the responsibility of doing the entire Revamp, we need to seriously have a discussion about this set. I noticed lately Kingdra is juggling multiple sets. To give you an idea of how many I may have to include take a look at this:

Dragon Dance
Dragon Dance + Substitute (this one is very different from yours!)
Rain Dance (Mix)
Rain Dance (Special)
Choice Specs
Rest + Sleep Talk (Defensive)
Rest + Sleept Talk (Outrage)
Uber set ---> again plays a little differently

I don't think the analysis can have 8 sets to a pokemon! So I'm asking all of you in here. I know Dragon Dance Life Orb Kingdra looks so attractive and is the hot new thing, but I seriously think we should forgo it for the bulkier Dragon Dance + Substitute set. Why? Rain Dance Kingdra outclasses the Dragon Dance Life Orb set in nearly every fashion. For example, a Kingdra investing in all attack and speed using Life Orb is focused on sweeping after a single Dance... correct? I mean without defense investment Kingdra is only moderately bulky and strong attacks will still take it out. Ok, well think about this: Mixdra does the same thing: Rain Dances on the switch to gain the same 50% power boost, yet that also powers up Hydro Pump, and makes it twice as fast so you can allocate many more EVs into Special attack to make that hurt too. So the only real selling point on this set is Outrage. However, mixdra can use Draco Meteor with its now powered up special attack without locking itself in, and the other sets are taking full advantage of Outrage. So I recommend we switch this to the bulky DD set that many of us use.... any thoughts on this?
