Gen 7 KangaSquad

Team : https://pokepast.es/0e17d470c1a518cb
:sm/kangaskhan-mega: :sm/toxapex: :sm/groudon-primal: :sm/tyranitar: :sm/arceus-grass: :sm/xerneas:
Kanga-Squad get it? haha
So this team is built around Mega Kangaskhan, an underrated mega that I rarely see anyone use

Teambuilding Process
:sm/kangaskhan-mega:
First I need a pokemon to build around while still being viable and I found Kangaskan
Kangaskan is a good revenge killer and status spreader with paralysis and flinch
It can also KO both primals in 2.5 hits using seismic toss (depends on the investment)
Kangaskhan is really weak against fighting types and mons that can overwhelm it like Mega Lucario and Mega Salemence
So I thought of using the pex in Ubers
:sm/toxapex:
Toxapex, based on the dex, is a really good teammate
It can switch in attacks for Mega Kangaskhan and can Haze away Thunderless GeoXerns
It can switch in on Mega Salemence, Marshadow and Mega Lucario
But every core has a weakness, it's main weakness is Primal Kyogre
:sm/groudon-primal: :sm/arceus-grass:
It's first check is Primal Groudon because of Desolate Land and good SpDef it can switch in on Xerneas and Primal Ogre
But Primal Groudon's weakness is faster Primal Groudons that can KO it with Precipice Blades
So I thought of using one of the most underrated Arceus forms, its grass form
Arceus-Grass was really good back in Gen 5 because of the common weather setters, Ttar, Ogre and Groudon
But now it is used rarely dues to its weaknesses are common and does not provide much support
It's also weak to Goth and Mega Gengar, Toxapex is too
So I added another niche mon, Tyranitar
:sm/tyranitar:
Tyranitar used to be viable in DPP and BW due to Deoxys-S anti leads and taking part in the weather wars
Tyrantitar can still anti lead Deoxys-S but it can also work as a pursuit trapper
It can take my team's weakness to Goth and Mega Gengar as an advantage using bait
I can lure in a shadow tagger, make a double switch to ttar and kill it
It still need to be wary of focus blast though
Also check Ho-oh
:sm/xerneas:
Scarf Xerneas is here for speed control and revenge killing
It also works as a defogger and Status curer
If the opposing team is weakened, Xerneas can finish off the rest

So now I'm going to explain the members in detail
:sm/kangaskhan-mega:
Mega Kangaskhan is the team's main member
Using the dex spread
With Body Slam it can spread Paralysis 61% of the time
It can deal a lot of chip damage using Seismic Toss
Crunch is used over Shadow Claw because of the def drop
It's also tanky enough to take hits from support pokemon like Pdon and Arceus
It's fast enough to outspeed anything below scarfless max Speed Lunala and paralyze
:sm/toxapex:
It's role to wall Fighting types for Mega Kanga and Tyranitar
It's ability, Regenerator, makes it a really good defensive pivot
Toxic Spikes can help Mega Kangaskan to give a lot of chip damage with poison
It's resist to fairy helps it soft check Rest Talk GeoXerns or Choiced ones
Scald also helps to burn Steel types and Physical Sweepers combined with Haze to remove opposing boost
Water Resist helps to switch in on Kyogre's Orgin Pulse and switch back to Groudon
In PP wars Toxapex has a lot of advantage with 48 PP Haze and 32 PP Toxic Spikes
:sm/groudon-primal:
The most common pokemon in ubers
It's ability to check Xerneas and switch in on Primal Kyogre is greatly appreciated
Lava Plume is a good burn spreader and deals a lot of damage to Skarmory
Precipice Blades is a common STAB ground attack is really useful for a bit of damage output
Stealth Rock it a mandatory move
:sm/tyranitar:
Tyrantitar's main purpose is to remove ghost and psychics out of the field, especially Mega Gengar
It also functions as a fighting type bait for Toxapex to chip them away
Now that Colbur Berry it rare, it can now properly anti lead Deoxys-s
:sm/arceus-grass:
No you aren't blind, you are seeing ARCEUS GRASS
Grass can resist Water type and Ground Type attacks is useful to check Ogre and finish off low HP Primal Groudon
Also works as a lure for Mega Gengar and Mega Salemence
Also, it outspeed non max speed Salemence and KO it
:sm/xerneas:
Scarf Xern works as a revenge killer and speed control
Outspeeding +1 Zygarde and Mega Mewtwo Y is good
Xerneas cures status and removes hazards
Checks Yveltal and unboosted Dragons

Threatlist:
:sm/groudon-primal:
Dual Dance Primal Groudon is really threatening once Arceus-Grass fainted
It's mixed rock polish set is probably the most threatening to face

:sm/arceus:
Ekiller Arceus destroys this team. End

:sm/gengar-mega:
A Focus Blast on a weakened Ttar kills TTar and destroy it destroys the rest

Thank you for reading my RMT!
Pls tell me if I can patch up any weaknesses

I love USM Ubers and am glad you took the time to build it! For this team a couple of glaring things stick out about it, mainly that it just folds against fire move Primal Groudon, which is a huge problem because it's nearly omnipresent in the tier. The Arceus of choice being grass also means that you're weak against flying stab, which is bad because it means that you drop the ability to check Mega Salamence with that slot.

MAJOR CHANGES:

:toxapex: -> :zygarde:

Zygarde @ Leftovers / Yache Berry
Ability: Power Construct
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Thousand Arrows
- Glare
- Coil
- Rest

While it isn't a perfect solution, Zygarde provides a pretty solid blanket check to most Pdon sets and preserves some of the synergy that Pex provided to Kang by spreading paralysis for it while also preserving Pex's ability to check Ekiller. It can also eats hits from Mega Salamence barring it clicking the rare Outrage which can then be punished by ScarfXern in return. As an added bonus it gives you a better pivot against Necrozma-Dusk Mane / Ultra Necrozma and can prevent you're Groudon from being overloaded by it. Yache Berry is an item worth considering here because of the added security it grants you against hidden power ice variants of Groudon and Marshadow.

MINOR CHANGES:

:groudon-primal:

Lava Plume -> Roar / Overheat

USM nerfed burn damage taking it from 12.5% to 6.25% per turn making it far less effective, most of Groudon's former burn targets instead are more effectively dealt with by statusing them with Toxic. The benefit of Roar on this team is to become a bit more secure against Geomancy Xerneas which you have to be careful of without a steel type meanwhile Overheat deals over 50% to groundceus making it a bit easier to chip down and keep Stealth Rocks on the field.

:xerneas:

Focus Blast -> Toxic / Thunder Wave

Focus blast is a fairly unreliable move due to it's low accuracy and is usually outclassed by HP Fire for it's ability to hit Ferrothorn without missing because Groudon can be dealt with through hazards and status due to it's lack of reliable recovery. Even though the team has Grasseus, it's match up versus Calm Mind Groundceus seems a bit shaky and adding fast Toxic on xerneas would help to remedy that. Thunder Wave on the other hand is useful because it gives you a third paralysis spreader to aid Kangaskhan.

OTHER OPTIONS:

:kangaskhan-mega:

Fake Out -> Power-Up Punch
Crunch -> Sucker Punch

On versions of the team with Roar on Pdon, these changes can be applied to Kang's set in order to make it a much more dangerous win condition as the added security vs Xerneas that fake out provides isn't as needed.

:toxapex: -> :giratina-origin:

This has the same basic idea as adding Zygarde but with some unique benefits and drawbacks, those being that Giratina provides a second paralysis abuser and defog support but at the same time lacks reliable recovery and opens you up to Ekiller / Mence. Personally I think Zyg in this slot is more solid but both are likely possible

:tyranitar:

Superpower -> Foul Play

This seems weird at first blush since you lose your ability to hit Darkceus but on a version of the team with Gira-O, this allows you to check non Earthquake vairants of Ekiller which could prove valuable.

:arceus-grass:

Arceus-Grass @ Meadow Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 80 HP / 176 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Grass Knot
- Ice Beam
- Fire Blast
- Recover
->
Arceus-Grass @ Meadow Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 4 Def/ 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Grass Knot
- Fire Blast / Ice Beam
- Recover

Here's a pretty fun idea I had that takes advantage of Zygarde's ability to help out against dragons and adds a pretty nice additional win condition. Your mileage may vary with whichever coverage move you prefer and choice of EV spread but overall should be nice and add security to the Groundceus matchup. Fire Blast hits steels and Ice Beam hits Giratina and other dragons.

:xerneas:

EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe -> EVs: 184 Def / 72 SpA / 252 Spe

If you choose to run with the CM Grasseus idea, using a bulky Xerneas will help with Marshadow.

IMPORTABLES OF TEAM VARIANTS:

Hope this was helpful!
