[OVERVIEW]
Jynx carves out a niche in RBY 1v1 thanks to its unique resistances, STAB combination and freeze immunity, allowing it to defeat certain top threats like Chansey, while still being able to attempt to freeze other threats like Starmie, Alakazam, and Snorlax, which would usually counter it. What holds Jynx back is that it doesn't have much else going on aside from the traits mentioned before. They are good, they allow you to beat Articuno reliably, but other Psychic-type Pokemon have better traits, like Alakazam's great speed, Starmie's outstanding bulk, and Exeggutor's combo of Leech Seed and Toxic, leaving Jynx as a niche but still not a bad Pokemon in the tier.

STAB Blizzard is the main selling point, mainly OHKOing Rhydon and Sandslash and 2HKOing Zapdos and Exeggutor, while also being able to be used to freeze a Pokemon, though it's usually using it for the damage, unlike Ice Beam, which is used for reliability due to Blizzard's shaky lower accuracy, while also still 2HKOing threats like Venusaur. Psychic is another great STAB option that lets it hit Gengar, Machamp and Hitmonlee for super effective damage, and the chance of lowering Special really come in handy against Chansey, opposing Jynx, and Lapras. Finally, Rest is its last option due to its reliability against the previous matchups, allowing for it to beat them without fearing anything much from them.
Jynx usually finds itself on teams with Tauros or Snorlax with no Thunderbolt, as they don't like facing Articuno or Chansey, where it usually won't be the only Psychic-type on the team, as it is common to run two of them on the same team, like the Alakazam+Starmie core, which speaking of, Jynx matches up terribly against almost all the Psychic-types in the tier, with the exception of Exeggutor, so a Pokemon that can handle them consistently, like the previously mentioned Snorlax and Tauros, and other Pokemon like Alakazam, are appreciated for Jynx to benefit from its strengths and cancel out its weaknesses thanks to its partners.
