Jolteon Thunderstorm
Hi, this is my first post here so I apologise for the mistakes I will make. Anyway, I have been playing with different weather teams like most people, and I love the power availible in weather. My team is mainly about Jolteon abusing Thunder, softening up the opposition to allow Starmie to clean up with its type coverage. On to the team.

Frog (Politoed) (M) @ Choice Specs Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
A necessity, and the best set in my eyes that Politoed can use. Packs some power with Hydro Pump that can surprise foes that expect a weak Scald from a bulky set. Can take a large hit, then KO back. Does roughly 80% to Ferrothorn with Focus Blast which is important to me as only it and Scizor can do much to it. Ice Beam nails the many dragon types in the metagame. Psychic is to hit Toxicroak who other wise destroys my team. I was considering making it slower so it can get rain up against other weather inducers at the start of the match. Hydro Pump is a clean KO on Scizor (useful for me to know as its a common switch in for some reason.)

Jolte-OWN (Jolteon) (M) @ Choice Specs Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch
Specs Jolteon is very powerful, Thunder is 100% accurate destruction, and it is lightning fast with 130 base speed (pun very much intended) It has a small movepool but it gets by, HP Ice gives BoltBeam coverage, Shadow Ball hits Latios/ Reuniclus. Volt Switch deals healthy damage and gets me a good matchup. It can come in on electric attacks and regain health lost to entry hazards. All in all one of my favourite pokemon. I used to put it in on Rotom-W when I predicted a Volt Switch, but recently players have got wise and started using Hydro Pump, KOing Jolteon, now I always put Ferrothorn out in its place. Helps cover my electric weakness as I have three water pokes.

Sadist (Tentacruel) (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Scald
- Toxic Spikes
- Protect
- Rapid Spin
Tentacruel is obviously very bulky in the rain, recovering alot of health each turn, Protect increases this and lets me know what to do next when facing a choiced pokemon, and scouts for unexpected moves. Toxic Spikes helps weaken the opposition, and Rapid Spin keeps Jolteon and Scizor healthy as they switch alot. Great at stalling and a solid member of my team. Toxic Spikes are also vital if I am to beat Gastrodon if Ferrothorn is down.

Guillotine (Scizor) (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- U-turn
- Superpower
Standard Scizor, you know what it does. Provides very useful revenge killing and favourable match ups with U-turn. Combined with Jolteon's Volt Switch the opponent is often on pushed onto the back foot.

Pain in the. (Ferrothorn) (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Curse
Ferrothorn sets up the rocks that save me from Dragonite. This allows me to KO with Joltoen HP Ice, Starmie Ice Beam or Politoed Ice Beam. Leech Seed for recovery and to shorten the lifespan of boosting enemies. Curse is more of a threat than an actual move for sweeping. It makes the opponent send in a pokemon to force it out rather than continue setting up hazards or stalling. This pokemon is for taking hits no one else wants to. Once it sets up Stealth Rock it mainly becomes a punching bag.

Ninja Star (Starmie) @ Life Orb Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psychic
- Thunder
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
Starmie is a great pokemon to use in the rain. 100% accurate Thunder the same as Jolteon and boosted Hydro Pump. Amazing type coverage (apart from steels) and good speed and power means it can clean up late game or go on knockout spree mid game before Life Orb takes it down. There are not many pokemon that can switch in on a resisted move and survive the next move I use. I cant use HP Fire to beat steels like Ferrothorn because of the rain. Hydro Pump always kills Scizor though.
Threats.
Breloom can come in on Ferrothorn or Tentacruel if it can avoid a burn from scald, Spore, Sub and then kill something in my team. I often have to sacrifice something to break the sub before i can beat it.
Trick Room Reuniclus - because of the speed of my offensive pokemon and their frailty, and Tentacruel and Ferrothorn being weak to Psychic and Focus Blast respectively, I have been swept a few times by it recently.
Life Orb Zapdos - need some careful play as Thunderbolt ends Tentacruel and Heatwave can destroy Ferrothorn. I usually send in Tentacruel if Ferrothorn is already out to take the Heatwave, and then switch to Jolteon to absorb the Thunderbolt and KO with Thunder, however if they switch out Zapdos when Jolteon comes in, i have to repeat the process again at a later time when it happens again, and they can use some prediction to take out a member of my team.
Dry Skin Swords Dance Toxicroak with Sucker Punch is very hard for me to take down as Starmie is Kod by it, and Ferrothorn and Tentacruel can't touch it. Tentacruel walls it but can't even go for the burn with Scald as Dry Skin absorbs the water attack. I now run Psychic on Politoed to try and beat it.
Gastrodon walls my whole team apart from Scizor and Ferrothorn. Once Ferrothorn is gone i find it very hard to get rid of it. I now try and get Toxic Spikes Down as soon as I can which helps a lot against it.
Anyway, I will very much appreciate any help that can be given to improve my team, you can be as harsh as you like if you think it will help me. Again I apologise for any errors I have made.
