Jolteon (Rain Dance Lead)

I made this Jolteon set when I was desperately needing a Rain Dance lead (Other than Electrode, that is). It gets the job done so I decided to share it.

[SET]
name: Rain Dance Lead
move 1: Rain Dance
move 2: Thunder
move 3: Shadow Ball / Hidden Power Water
move 4: Magnet Rise / Baton Pass
item: Damp Rock
nature: Timid
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Why this set deserves to be on-site:
- Outspeeds common taunters, barring lead Aero (speed-tie).
- Has more attacking options than Electrode.
- Has more special bulk than Electrode.
- Can scout teams with Baton Pass.
- Can come in during mid-game to set up the rain again.

Additional Comments:
- HP Ice over Shadow Ball/HP Water also works.
- A bit bulkier EV set: 56 HP / 200 SpA / 252 Spe

Teammates and Counters:
- Works exceptionally well with Swift Swim sweepers, like Kingdra and Ludicolo. Rain Dance on the first turn, then Baton Pass to the Swift Swim Sweeper.
- SD Ludicolo is a great partner with Jolteon, because it deals with the Pokémon that Jolteon cannot.
- Scizor is helpful in beating lead-Tar. Scizor also benefits from the Rain, since Fire damage is halved.
- Most Taunt leads can't stop Jolteon since its faster than them (mostly).
- Leads carrying Earthquake will decimate Jolteon (if it isn't running Magnet Rise, that is), but most will not stop it from setting up Rain Dance.

the main issue that i don't know if this is worth a set or not. Also, it doesn't get Stealth Rock which is extremely important for rain teams, who are all extremely offensively natured.

Damn, I had this set in the creative moveset thread a while back, kinda lacked the guts to put it here. I think Shadow Ball over HP Ice is a superior option, as you can use Jolteon later to revenge oh-so-troublesome Gengar out of rain. You can also slash it with HP Water, which provides a 2HKO on Tyranitar and OHKO on Heatran. Magnet Rise is a situational option for slot 4 over Baton Pass, helps a whole lot if you do win the speed tie with LeaDactyl, or predict a LeadTran Earth Power, or MixPert Earthquake. And use max SAtk, otherwise you won't be making the most of its wonderful STAB Thunder.
Lastly, mention SD Ludicolo specifically, as it deals with everything Jolteon cannot (e.g. Blissey, Tyranitar, Swampert).

Lead Aero always runs max speed, so "but if opposing Aero isn't on max Spe and doesn't have a Speed Boosting nature, Jolteon outspeeds" is a moot point. HP water gets pseudo-stab boost in rain.

Setting up the rain first is more important than setting entry hazards first on Rain Dance teams. You can have a teammate who can set up the rocks or find another lead.

Cool, oh and I mentioned Ludicolo at the "Teammates and Counters".

HP Water, right.

I think rain dance jolteon was posted a while ago already.
I searched before I posted this and found none. If there was, however, feel free to close this.

How is this better than Electrode? And also why is Baton Pass a good option to switch to a rain sweeper? Electrode's Explosion fits so well because it does damage to break Sash, and allows a rain sweeper to get in unharmed.

And yeah I don't think SR is neccessary on a rain team. The guy who said that should experience UU. Rain is so hyper offense that setting up the neccessary weather surpasses the need for an entry hazard like SR.
