[OVERVIEW]
Jolteon is the fastest Pokemon in RBY OverUsed which, coupled with its high critical hit rate and Special, allows it to become a potentially dangerous late-game sweeper. Despite interesting coverage options such as Pin Missile and Double Kick, Jolteon is heavily walled by the top Ground-types in OverUSed: Rhydon and Golem. Jolteon's low Attack and limited special movepool means it cannot do very much to Pokemon that are immune or resist its Electric-type STAB without critical hits. Jolteon also can only function late game because it does not have the best bulk to take physical hits. This is mainly why it is outclassed by Zapdos as an Electric-type because it is immune to Ground-types, it has better physical bulk, and has a higher Attack to become a lethal mixed sweeper.

Set Description
=========
This is Jolteon's best set to sweep the opposing team late-game. Thunder Wave can be used to cripple fast threats such as Tauros, Alakazam, and Starmie. Thunderbolt is Jolteon's best STAB, as it dents a lot of Pokemon that do not resist Electric-type moves. Pin Missile is primarily used to punish Psychic-types with high Special stats such as Exeggutor, as it is 4x weak to Bug-type moves. However, Jolteon is better off using Thunderbolt most of the time because Pin Missle is based heavily on luck and is very weak without a critical hit. Double Kick is Jolteon's best chance to hit Rhydon, Golem, and Chansey. Because of its limited options, Jolteon is best saved to clean up late-game, especially if the foe's team has been heavily chipped and if it can score paralysis against Pokemon like Alakazam and Tauros with Thunder Wave. Jolteon itself is vulnerable to paralysis, as it cuts its Speed and makes it lose its critical hit ratio.

Other Options
=============
Jolteon's movepool is extremely limited, so there aren't that many other options it can utilize effectively. Body Slam can be used to paralyze Ground-types on the switch, but the move has little use outside of that. Hyper Beam can also be used to hit Pokemon like Chansey or Exeggutor hard since it can dent them with a critical hit, but the move is not STAB and is very weak coming from Jolteon. Tail Whip can give Jolteon a better chance against Chansey one-on-one, but again, the move has no other practical use. Substitute can shield Jolteon from paralysis, but only in the Pokemon Stadium format. Speaking of Pokemon Stadium, Jolteon can also use Focus Energy to raise its critical hit ratio, meaning it will land a critical hit with all of its moves. However, outside of Stadium, Focus Energy resets Jolteon's critical hit ratio to 0 if it is slower than the foe's Poekmon because of a glitch in the game.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Ground-type Pokemon**: Rhydon and Golem are the absolute best counters to Jolteon thanks to their high Defense and immunity to Electric-type moves. While Jolteon does have Double Kick to score some super effective damage, the move is very weak without a critical hit. Jolteon's low Defense and Electric-type also means it is very vulnerable to Earthquake from these Pokemon.
**Bulky Pokemon**: Any Pokemon with a high Special stat is likely to take at least one Thunderbolt and retaliate back. Alakazam and Starmie can survive one Thunderbolt and cripple it in return with Thunder Wave. Exeggutor also resists Thunderbolt and can stop it with Sleep Powder and Explosion. However, Exeggutor has to be cautious of Pin Missle, especially if it has been weakened before. Chansey also takes next to nothing from Thunderbolt and can stop Jolteon with Thunder Wave. Snorlax is also a threat since it can take a Thunderbolt and immediately threaten Jolteon with Earthquake.
**Paralysis**: Jolteon's sweep is stopped by paralysis, as part of its success relies on its Speed to score critical hits.
