The team in detail...
Referee (Deoxys-Defense) @ Red Card
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Timid Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Taunt
- Magic Coat
Deoxys-Defence is the only wall on this team. He's used for setting up hazards and for taking heavy hits when I need to get another Pokémon out of harms way (for example, Weavile after he's used his Focus Sash). Magic Coat is probably the most useful move on here as it effective negates Prankster Sableye as well as any Pokémon trying to use Taunt or set up their own hazards. With 306 speed it's faster than most things so can get hazards out even when it'll faint from a single hit.
Bolt (Manectric) @ Manectite
Ability: Lightningrod
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- Thunderbolt
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch
With sub-300 HP and around 150 defense and special defense Manectric is rather vulnerable on switch-in. Even after mega evolving it's still rather easy to take out. It does however have over 400 speed and around 370 special attack after mega evolving so it can get in an attack quickly either taking out the opponent or using volt switch to do damage whilst getting out of harm's way. Lightningrod is an immensely useful ability when switching in from Keldeo when faced with an electric-type opponent. More often than not once this has switched in and received a special attack increase the opponent will make a predictable switch to a ground or steel type which can be taken out with a well-planned flamethrower or hidden power.
Afro Dude (Keldeo-Resolute) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Timid Nature
IVs: All 30 except Speed which is 31
- Icy Wind
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power [Flying]
An excellent special attacker, Keldeo has an expert belt instead of a choice scarf/specs specifically because that's unusual and opponents usually expect it to have a choice item so switch in something which Keldeo can easily take out with another of its moves. Hidden power flying is the surprise move here, it's specifically to counter fighting and bug types due to the lack of any psychics on this team and often surprises opponents but it's really rather underpowered.
Robert (Volcarona) @ Life Orb
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Fiery Dance
- Giga Drain
Despite my temptation to use an expert belt, life orb is still a very effective item for Volcarona. Bug buzz is superb for taking out psychic opponents such as Latios and Fiery dance is great for steel and grass types, particularly Ferrothorn and the special attack boost is very useful when it engages. Giga drain serves to take out pesky water types and to replenish Volcarona's HP which is especially useful after a quiver dance.
Lee (Weavile) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pickpocket
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Ice Punch
- Ice Shard
- Low Kick
So here's Weavile - the fast physical sweeper on this team. With a speed of over 380 it's fast enough to outrun most things shile still having enough grunt to do some serious damage. Ice shard serves to get past scarved opponents and slower priority moves with ice punch to do a little more damage. Knock off is great for when you suspect your opponent is about to switch as it does damage and can often really hamper your opponent's plans. Low kick is a useful fighting move for taking out the likes of chansey and tyrannitar. Using the focus sash and pickpocket Weavile can withstand a 1HKO and steal an opponent's item for itself.
Dancer (Azumarill) (M) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Brick Break
A very useful pokémon to switch in to take no outrage damage, this is a fairly standard Azumarill set. Sitrus Berry effectively halves the damage done by belly drum and gives it a little bit of extra help when not using belly drum. Aqua jet is a useful priority move to make up for low speed while play rough and brick break are there for STAB damage and to take out walls such as Chansey.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, that's the team I haven't really played much since Gen 3 and usually do Ubers so it's somewhat likely that there's a massive flaw with this team that I haven't seen yet. In terms of typing there is a fair amount of synergy on this team although it could definitely be better. The lack of a move to remove hazards is sometimes an issue but I've enjoyed a 70%ish victory rating with this team.
