Dreidol (Claydol) @ Light Clay
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Rapid Spin
- Earth Power
Namesake: A dreidol used in Hanukkah
Claydol is the Pokemon I use as my lead to set up my dual screens, and spin away hazards (Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Stealth Rocks); able to avoid ground and electric type-attacks which my main attackres are weak to. However, this set is not only stuck being support because of Earth Power, which can deal away with stubborn leads, and Heatran.
Levi (Kyogre) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Thunder
- Ice Beam
Namesake: The Great Leviathon from Jewish Mythology.
Kyogre is my main attacker, next to Starmie. It is able to sweep teams after just a few Calm Minds. This set is a rather bulky set, able to take an electric attacks like it's nobody's business. Electric attacks do about 36% when under Screens, and about 17% after a Calm Mind. Kyogre is able to take down opposing Kyogres and Palkias with a strong, never-miss, Thunder.
Pika-JEW! (Pikachu) (M) @ Light Ball
Trait: Lightningrod
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Grass Knot
- Rain Dance
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Namesake: Spin on words. Pika-CHU, sounds like, Pika-JEW.
Pikachu is extremely useful when it comes to being an Electric Absorber (along with Claydol) for Kyogre and Starmie. With, Lightningrod, not only does it resist Thunder, it gets a boost from it. Used to kill Groudon and other big Pokemon with Grass Knot. When against a Palkia, Kyogre, Ho-Oh, or other Pokemon weak against Thunder, I use Grass Knot predicting a switch into Groudon which does 86%-100%. Light Ball is uses to enhance Special Attack. Speed EVs are maxed out to outspeed some Groudon sets.
of David (Starmie) @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Thunder
- Recover
Namesake: Star of David, a common symbol for Judiasm
Starmie, is my secondary attacker, able to revenge kill most dragons like, Giratina, Palkia, and Rayquaza. With a powerful Hydro Pump at its disposal, Reshiram and Ho-Oh are a thing of the past. After Light Screens, Recover can stall up electric damage.
Matza Ball (Whimsicott) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Encore
- Toxic
Namesake: A reknowned food served in Jewish households.
Whimsicott is extremely useful being an excellent SubSeeder, able to leech off opposing Kyogres and get Arceus and Mewtwo to keep setting up with my Encore in order to avoid boosted attacks. When I see a Nasty Plot, Swords Dance, or Calm Mind, I immediately switch in Whimsicott to Encore it. I am also able to Encore, Dark Void when under Sub, or Sleep Clause which becomes extremely useful at times.
Menorah (Chandelure) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Will-O-Wisp
- Shadow Ball
- Taunt
Namesake: A Menorah is what Jews light on Hanukah.
Chandelure's main purpose of the team is its ability to kill off Whimsicott's worst enemy, Ferrothorn. He can absorbs fire-type moves with Flash Fire that come at Whimsicott, and occasionally at Pikachu. Chandelure, though being slow, is nice to fed off of Mewtwo and Arceus-Grass. Very useful when confronting an Arceus, because Chandelure is able to block ExtremeSpeed.
