It sure is nice driving my 2020 Chevy Silverado

War Incarnate

You are driving down the street in your 2020 Chevy Silverado in a rural, forested area. It is peaceful, yet uneventful. Nothing out of the blue happens as you drive, noticing other cars driving by you and the beautiful scenery of the forest. The deer, the trees, heck, even the winter snow that has yet to melt - you are awestruck by it all, yet you focus on driving.

You say to yourself, "It sure is nice driving my 2020 Chevy Silverado", thinking nothing can go wrong.

The car drives a few more miles, and all of a sudden, you feel an ominous breeze. Your body turns cold. Did your words trigger the wrath of a deity who hates nice things? Perhaps an SCP might've showed up outside of your car. Perhaps you might have accidentally warped yourself and your car into an alternate universe.

Who knows what will happen? All I can say is that it is up to you to finish the story.

Suddenly, I have an epiphany. Having been attached to this mortal realm for so long, I never thought about the implications of one sentence. What if I truly did become whatever I wanted to be when I grew up? I had physically grown, sure. But sitting here, in this Ominous Wind, I think I got an omniboost. I have now grown spiritually, and as such I will transcend the mortal realm and become what I've always wanted to be - a 1995 Ford GT! Mom, Dad, I know you're watching me from the heavens. You may have told me not to run into traffic, but it is what I now must do. For me to become what I've always dreamed of becoming, I must sprint head-on into traffic!

Years later, the man would think about this moment from above and say to himself "Damn, I really shouldn't have done that. Now I need to get oil changes and engine tuneups." As they let him down from the car lift, he also thought about the really high gas prices. "Maybe I can get a discount if I show them that I'm a talking car." he said aloud, before slowly driving off into the sunset.
