Intimidate Team

I've been trying this team out to see how Intimidate's effectiveness in doubles would work out when compounded across the entire team. Granted, Blissey is far from intimidating, but a special wall in the team seems like a good idea. So far, I've had iffy sucess with it while my sister thinks this team is unstoppable. So yeah...

Note: I copy/pasted from pokemon showdown.

you need to add descriptions to each Pokemon. 4-5 lines should do it. Describe why you chose them, the moves, EVs, nature, etc.

It looks like you have gone all in with the Intimidate strategy, here are some suggestions to help you get the most out of it:

1) Weather Teams

⦁ You will no doubt run into many weather teams in doubles; rain, sun and even hail teams commonly focus on special attacks that are boosted by weather - all of which would ignore your Intimidates and hit you hard with Special Attacks. It might be best to give up one of your Intimidating Pokémon so you have a means to control the weather.
⦁ The Pokémon on your team wouldn't benefit much by any weather condition, so it might actually be best to use a Pokémon with the Cloud Nine ability.
⦁ Golduck resists the water, ice, and fire attacks common on weather teams and scares away the ground and rock types on sandstorm teams, but you would need to watch out for grass types on sun teams, Abomasnow on hail teams, or Electric types on rain teams. Lickilicky has the best bulk and a huge movepool including Power Whip, Earthquake, and Fire Punch that would allow him to cover all the weather Pokemon. Altaria is also pretty bulky, but comes with a 4x weakness to Ice. He does however have access to Cotton Guard and Roost that can help him to last longer than the others if he has support against Ice attacks.

2) Metagross + Lum Berry or Defiant Pokemon

⦁ Metagross is really common in doubles and always comes with the Clear Body ability that prevents his stats from being lowered. Without the ability to Intimidate him he could do some serious damage to your team. It's also really common in double battles for Metagross to be holding a Lum Berry and have his partner use Swagger to raise his attack stat, which would set him up to potentially sweep through your team. Pokémon with the Defiant ability would be even worse for your team as all of your Intimidates continuously raise their attack.
⦁ Switching Salamence to a Special Attacker with Heat Wave, Fire Blast, or Flamethrower would give you a better option against Metagross and one of the more common Defiant Pokemon, Bisharp.
⦁ A defensive Ferrothorn with a Rocky Helmet would do some pretty good recoil damage to Metagross or any of the Defiant Pokemon. Shedinja is a little trickier to use but is immune to the typical Metagross movesets.
⦁ You could try adding Confuse Ray or Swagger to one of your Pokemon to confuse the Defiant Pokemon and hope they hurt themselves. Another option is to lower their attack with a Burn, maybe try Will-O-Wisp on a pokemon. The only surefire way to avoid this challenge is to revamp your team with fewer Intimidators.

3) Items and some moveset ideas

⦁ Blissey is great as a special wall, but Chansey with Eviolite is even better. Considering your team relies on Intimidate and Special Defense EVs to stall teams, it might be good to include Toxic over Counter.
⦁ Hitmontop already has two higher priority moves in Fake Out and Sucker Punch; it probably makes more sense to include Close Combat for the extra power.
⦁ Shell Bell usually is less effective than some of the other recovery items, I would recommend switching to Sitrus Berries (or maybe leftovers) on Masquerain, Arcanine, and Krookodile if you want a way to recover health. Each of those Pokémon may actually be better with a different item entirely; perhap a gem, sash, scarf, or a boosting berry.

This seems like an interesting team built around a fun concept. Some of the suggestions could help get better synergy with the stall strategy of Intimidate/Special EVs, and also to cover some of the tough weaknesses the strategy has.

I hope I was able to help you, and good luck with your team. ^_^

Hello,

Your descriptions are really lacking atm, as the suggested is around 3 lines per Pokemon. Try to expand on what role each Pokemon plays for your team, and why you chose that specific moveset or EV spread.

PM me your updated descriptions and I will unlock this thread for you.
