I have a few questions about Compoundeyes' field effect and Wide Lens.

If a Pokemon with Wide Lens attached to it uses a move that has 90% accuracy, what is the new accuracy of the move? How about a 95% accuracy move? 85%?

Basically, how exactly do Wide Lens work?
(this question is assuming that nothing else is affecting the accuracy of the move, such as abilities and accuracy-affecting moves)




And, Compoundeyes' field effect... How exactly does that work? If a wild pokemon has a 5% chance of holding a certain item, what does that increase to with Compoundeyes? 10%? 7.5%?
What about a 50% chance item?
What if a Pokemon can hold 1 of 2 items, one having a 5% chance and the other having a 50% chance of being held?

Or, does it just raise the chances of encountering any pokemon that might possibly hold an item, making it useless if all of the pokemon that can appear in a certain area can potentially hold items?

Basically, how exactly does Compoundeyes' field effect work?

I hope that somebody can help me out with this.
 
Wide Lens:

95% Accuracy: 104.5%
90%: 99% Accuracy
85%: 93.5% Accuracy
80%: 88% Accuracy
75%: 82.5% Accuracy
70%: 77% Accuracy

Then you take into account evasion and accuracy boosts/de-boosts.
 
CompoundEyes increases the chance that a wild pokemon will carry a hold item (if it naturally can come with a hold item) by 30% I believe if the CompoundEyes pokemon is first in the party
 
Compoundeyes seems to increase the rate of getting an item by a significant rate, because my Compoundeyes Yanma fought 3 Budew before it got a Poison Barb, 2 Buizels before getting a Wacan Berry, and out of the 5 Elekids it fought, every single one had an Electirizer.

Just out of curiousity, where do those stats come from? How can you know the exact percent-increases of items?
 
It's just a guess. Though I think the Cheats / Codes section of pokemon Emerald on GameFaqs has the exact percentage
 
I've been crunching math for about an hour now on my calculator to figure out Compoundeyes' formula based on Captain Awesome's answer, and I've finally come up with my own.

Compoundeyes raises accuracy by 10%.

EDIT: Does Tinted Lens have the same Field Effect as Compoundeyes (similar to how MagmaArmor/FlameBody have the same Field Effect)?

Wide Lens ups accuracy by 10%. IIRC Compound Eyes ups accuracy/item increase by 30%
 
No no no, TINTED Lens is what Yanma's Compoundeyes changes to when you evolve it into Yanmega.

TINTED Lens increases the power of "not very effective" attacks, but I'm wondering if it has the same Field Effect as Compoundeyes
 
Also, to get better items while having the effect of the ability "Frisk", have a pokemon with compund eyes in the front of your party and make sure it's fainted. Then have the second pokemon in your party one with the ability frisk. It really helps since you get the added boost of compund eyes while being able to see what the pokemon has. This is how I got 4 Lucky Eggs in 20 minutes.
 
I'm 100% sure Compundeyes increases accuracy by 30%, my Butterfree has never failed its Sleep Powder...

75 + 30% = 97.5 (Failing would be so rare)

I have used it like in 25 battles.

If it was 10% then the accuracy would have been 75 + 10% = 82.5
 
oh! so what if we had a butterfree with compound eyes and wide lens?

that makes 107.2% accuracy! yay!

or a im getting it wrong?
 
Back on topic, what is the percentage compound eyes increases the chance you'll find a pokemon holding an item?

I don't think this is a known fact, really...

My questions about Compoundeyes have yet to be answered.
