I Am Legend: 12/14/07.

WARNING: SPOILERS MAY BE IN THIS THREAD; tread with caution if you haven't watched the film!

Here's the trailer for anyone who hasn't seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2fWJ6ux8PM

I think this is going to be a killer movie. Gonna be pretty crazy, but I am looking really forward to it. PG-13 and 1hr43 minutes.

That, and Will Smith's in it and a cute dog, so there's gotta be something good in it.

It's gotten a 75% so far on Rottentomatoes after 8 reviews. That's pretty good for Rottentomatoes.

Comes out this Friday, who's gonna go see it?

NO SPOILERS IN THIS THREAD UNTIL AFTER 12/16/2007.

The trailer was... different (?) from any other movie trailer I've seen before, I think. I'm a fan of vampire flicks, and while the infected people aren't explicitly stated to be vampires, I'm still interested. (Especially since the last few vampires movies that have been released have been pretty disappointing. I mean, they lacked the ability to even speak properly in 30 Days of Night.)

The trailer seems to hint that the dog will die, though. D: Why is it that whenever there's a dog in a movie, it dies?

The trailer intrigued my mom so much she actually bought the book and read it first. She hated the book and she STILL wants to go see the movie. >:O Good Rottentomatoes score bodes well, though, you know movies always gets butchered compared to the books.

***SEI*D *GO*D *E*HT SE*Y OS*LA****

I usually enjoy the movies Will Smith is in, so I'll probably see this one sometime. The trailer was good enough to warrant interest at least.

I thought this movie was cool before I knew about the zombies.

Then I thought it was slightly cooler but still worth a trip to the movies.

It looks as if it's really well made, which is usually the problem with zombie flicks.

Oh and does the storyline remind anyone else of Resident Evil 4 and 5? T-Virus anyone?

This looks crazy awesome, and without epic catchphrases like 300. I want to see this but i'll get it much later than you fucks, so i'll have to steer away from this thread on a later date.

to be honest this looks like a hollywood version of 28 days later

(it might not be a bad thing, 28 days later was excellent but there doesnt seem to be much originality)

I've been looking at this movie for a long time, and at first it seemed like it was going to be a Castaway type movie, with just Will Smith, which would've been a really good movie in my mind, since we haven't had a real last man on Earth type movie. Then they whip out the zombie/vampire shit, which really made me go meh. Don't get me wrong I love movies like 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead, etc but I just wanted to see one movie with just the guy by himself. I'll still see this day 1 I just won't enjoy it as much as I would have.

yeah i would like to see a well-directed movie about the last man alive and his life that would be neat! and he could discover little bits and pieces that indicate he isnt alone and the movie centres around him trying to find these other people. i love it!

i read the plot of the book already and the ending is a bit disappointing; i really hope that the movie doesn't end in the same way (check wiki if you want to know what i'm talking about, but you might be spoiled). it still sounds like a great movie, since will smith is in it and all.

edit: monk, its based off of a book written in the 50s so its not like its a ripoff of 28 days later.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I want to see it now. I, too, thought it was a last-man-on-Earth kind of thing.

I've been planning on going to see it just because of the trailer. I think it looks pretty cool/interesting but we'll see if it actually ends up being that way. I thought it was a combo of last man on earth and zombies or something...

Yeah, the last man on Earth part intrigued me the most. But supposedly, according to the reviews, that's the majority of part 1 (beg. to middle) of the movie. And the middle-ending is composed of the more action scenes with the zombies/vampires/whatevertheyare and whatnot. I'm still excited to see it though..

Unfortunately, I think the dog will die too, but I hope not.

I saw this tonight, and I really enjoyed it. The whole movie kept me on the edge of my seat, and I can't remember at time during the movie that I wasn't engaged. The zombies were animated pretty reasonably, and the plot line seemed like it could actually happen (which happened to be one of the scariest parts) Overall, this flick is pretty intense and I definitely recommend this one to you guys. Will Smith does a pretty good job too for those actor enthusiasts out there.

The book still ranks as among my Top 10, even a good ten years after i read it for the first time.

Im seeing it tonight with my Dad, and we both absolutely LOVED the book, so ill tell you all about it later tonight! The only thing i dont like is that it takes place in New York instead of LA like in the book, but it still looks like it will be an awesome movie (as long as they keep the awesome plot intact! :D)

the book was pretty cool, the whole vampiry science thing was a nice touch. a film with will smith in will probably be alot different and drift from the elements of the book, but i imagine its okay.

i saw the trailer of it, is it like 28 days later or something?

Sort of.

A disease has killed off everyone on Earth except for Will Smith. The movie is the story of him living what is left of his life in an abandoned and swiftly overcome by nature New York City as he searches for a cure for the disease.
