Hey there,
My name is Jurdisch advies, and I really like to mess around in NU most of the time. Although I'm really new to competitive playing I really like the scene and especially NU. I'm trying to learn playstyles since that would benefit my teambuilding as well. This time I tried to forge a HO team with decent success, I need your suggestions (hopefully) to make it even better. I peaked at 1550 which is really high for me, but I couldn't go any higher than that.
Since I really like Raichu for its good coverage/speed, I thought why not build around it.
I don't own any of the sprites/gifs used for making this RMT. All its rights go to their respective owners and creators.
I hope you enjoy reading and rating my team.
Suggestions are valued ofc.

After a Nasty plot Raichu becomes a powerful 'mon capable of putting a dent in any team. Its base 110 speed lets it outspeed a lot of pokemon in the tier and makes it a good sweeper. I put a focus sash on their to get a nasty plot of safely and then proceed to sweep. Encore is there to stop set-up and let raichu safely set up against the opponent. Grass knot is for coverage and thunderbolt for a strong stab attack. I figured timid is the best , because you need speed over power since nasty plot solves that problem.
Raichu @ Focus Sash
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Encore
- Grass Knot
- Thunderbolt
- Nasty Plot
Archeops is a pretty standard lead ,taunter and SR setter. I needed the support for the rest of my team to sweep properly. Sitrus berry is there to get the acrobatics boost after a hit and will keep me above defeatist level. The speed is needed to outspeed SR setters and proceed from there.
Archeops @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Acrobatics
- Knock Off
- Taunt
An Archeops lead is pretty predictive so I like to lead with this guy. I stole the idea of Sweet Jesus and it works pretty well. Most people suspect a choice item, If you predict right you can take down 2-3 pokemon with the set. I stumbled upon multiple mega audinos so I went for poison type move to have decent coverage against it. CC is almost always a lot of pain for the opponents side, knock off for coverage.\
Sawk (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Ice Punch
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Poison Jab
I needed a revenge killer to take down fast and weakened opponents. So I decided to pick this Mongolian warlord as my designated revenge killer. This thing saved my ass multiple times when climbing the ladder , down 1-4 it pulled out the hot win. LO is for the extra power that I like to have on all of my moves. earthquake is for opposing steel types which aren't afraid of normal/dark moves. Return -> double edge, since I don't want to lose this beast in 2 turns.
Kangaskhan (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Fake Out
- Return
- Earthquake
This flower will burn down your house and eat your children alive.
Lilligant gets access to an OP status move in sleep powder and the strongest set up move in the game apart from shell smash, BS Quiver dance.
It's energy draining stab attack breaks down bulky water types in a blink of an eye. I picked HP fire to get ride of ferroseed, which I think is the most annoying pokemon in the tier.
Once this thing is set-up it's really tough to stop it.
Lilligant @ Life Orb
Ability:Own Tempo Chlorophyll (thanks to Lilligant for OU )
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Sleep Powder
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
I really liked the idea of setting up and sweeping in this HO team. Once the biggest threats are gone I can just set up and pick up the broom. Therefore, I picked Mis.Magius to top off my team with an extra setter-upper. Nasty plot is a really good move and its decent speed enhance its sweeping capabilities really well.
Shadow ball for the much-needed STAB and dazzling gleam to hit knock off users.
Mismagius @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Substitute
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
Thanks for reading my RMT!

Of course, raichu is in here.
Since I wanted to sweep with raichu, stealth rock support would be essential. I picked archeops, because of taunt+Sr combo.
Since this is a HO team, I really liked Sweet Jesus's sawk spread, to use it as an offensive lead is awesome. and catches a lot of people offguard.
I needed to have a pokemon with revenge killer capabilities ,which could hit hard as well. So I matched my team with Kan.
I needed something, other than raichu, to deal with bulky water, other ground types, so I added standard QD lilligant set which 6-0 people sometimes.
Since a set-up pokemon worked really well for me I decided to add Mismagius sub set to deal with a lot of nu threats.
