Thanks to its monstrous Attack stat, crazy bulk, Will-O-Wisp immunity, and lack of relative weaknesses, Choice Band Huge Power Primal Groudon is a powerful, if prediction-reliant, revenge killer. Extreme Speed is a reliable form of priority, OHKOing most Mega Mewtwo X, most Mega Rayquaza, and Shell Smash boosted Primal Groudon after slight chip. Pursuit is used to cover for Prankster Giratina, which if switching out is OHKOed after minor chip, as well as the aforementioned foes if they try to switch out. The third moveslot is used for a STAB move option, Precipice Blades OHKOes the omniprescent Giratina, and Thousand Arrows can instead be used to hit Flying-types, but at the cost of not OHKOing Giratina. Water Shuriken can be used to OHKO Primal Groudon, which is extremely bulky and commonly runs King's Shield, while Ice Shard hits heavily weakened Giratina before it can heal and the rare King's Shield Mold Breaker Mega Rayquaza. Bullet Punch can be used over Water Shuriken to hit Fairy-type Wonder Guard Pokemon like Xerneas and Mega Gardevoir. All three moves also target Ghost-types, in particular the frail Mega Gengar. If running Ice Shard, at least 4 Speed EVs are recommended to hit opposing Prankster Giratina before it can heal. Trick can be used to cripple potential switch-ins to priority attacks, like Giratina, even if it must be wary of Precipice Blades, or passive Wonder Guard Pokemon such as Slaking and Primal Kyogre. Choice Band is utilized to net important KOs, such as against Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Rayquaza from full with Extreme Speed as well as Prankster Giratina with Pursuit, on switch-out.
Choice Band Huge Power Primal Groudon fits on teams, in particular teams that would appreciate its ability to threaten Pokemon like Huge Power Mega Mewtwo X and Mold Breaker Mega Rayquaza not behind Substitute. Passive Wonder Guard users appreciate Primal Groudon's ability to force out the aforementioned Pokemon, while supporting Primal Groudon by clearing entry hazards, curing status, and switching into attacks from other foes that can survive a hit, like Focus Sash No Guard Deoxys-S and Mega Mewtwo Y, and healthy Huge Power Gyarados. As Primal Groudon cannot threaten most Wonder Guard users, Mold Breaker users, Huge Power and Shadow Tag Mega Mewtwo X, Protean Mega Latios, and Wonder Guard Shell Smash sweepers like Mega Lucario and Mega Gardevoir are good options. Lastly, a secondary revenge killer, especially Pixilate Diancie with Boomburst, is useful due to their ability to set hazards and Groudon's inability to hit foes behind Substitute.

Other Options
=============
Shell Smash Mold Breaker Primal Groudon can run a variety of moves that help it support its team and match up better against Giratina, such as Glare, Sacred Fire, Sheer Cold, U-Turn, and Knock Off. Earth Plate and Life Orb can improve damage rolls on Shell Smash sets. Choice Band sets can run various priority moves to revenge kill some offensive threats after chip damage. It can also run entry hazards to set up for better rolls later. More Speed EVs can be given to both Mold Breaker Primal Groudon sets if they wish to outspeed a specific threat. Mold Breaker Primal Groudon can run a special set with Earth Plate + Judgment. Shadow Tag Primal Groudon can use various coverage moves to target specific Wonder Guard users. Recovery moves may also be used on Shadow Tag Primal Groudon for longevity. Surf may also be used to OHKO opposing Primal Groudon without needing to worry about damage rolls with Thousand Arrows. Revenge Killer Primal Groudon can run Mach Punch or Shadow Sneak to hit Wonder Guards like Mega Lucario and Deoxys-Attack, with the former also securing the OHKO on unboosted Mega Tyranitar, but has no uses outside of this. Primal Groudon can run a support Wonder Guard set, with Thousand Arrows or Sacred Fire, Defog, Aromatherapy, and Recover, with a physically defensive spread. Primal Groudon can also opt for a Substitute + Baton Pass Wonder Guard set, with Substitute, Shell Smash, Thousand Arrows, and Baton Pass and 56 Speed EVs, allowing it to outspeed Choice Scarf Primal Groudon after a Shell Smash use.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Prankster Giratina**: Prankster Giratina uses its immense bulk to severely diminish Primal Groudon's offensive presence with Glare and force Shell Smash sweeper variants out with Encore. However, it can be hindered through with Dark Void from Shell Smash variants, Beat Up from Choice Band variants, Trick from Shadow Tag + Choice Scarf variants, Precipice Blades, Thousand Arrows, or Pursuit from Choice Band Huge Power variants.
**Imposter Users**: The strong neutral coverage of Thousand Arrows makes Imposter users able to easily countersweep if they copy a boosted Primal Groudon. Choice Band and Shadow Tag variants are both forced out by Imposter as well. Primal Groudon sets with Dark Void are more susceptible to countersweeps because they can then deal with a healthy Giratina. Choice Scarf Imposter users are more manageable, as they are forced to choose only one move.
**Huge Power Mega Gyarados**: Huge Power Mega Gyarados can OHKO Primal Groudon with 3 hit Water Shuriken and deal immense damage to it with Pursuit if it switches. It needs to be wary of using Pursuit as Mold Breaker Primal Groudon uses King's Shield, however.
**Other Revenge Killers**: Many -ate Speed users and Huge Power revenge killers can force unboosted Mold Breaker Primal Groudon out with their priority attacks. However, many of these fail to revenge kill Primal Groudon if it runs King's Shield. Some Choice Scarf + No Guard users, like Mega Mewtwo Y and Deoxys-S, outspeed any Primal Groudon even after a Shell Smash and can OHKO it. Additionally, Choice Scarf + Shadow Tag users, like Mega Rayquaza and Mega Mewtwo Y, can outspeed many Mold Breaker Primal Groudon sets and OHKO it with a special Water-type move. Gale Wings Mega Rayquaza can OHKO boosted Primal Groudon sets with Choice Specs Oblivion Wing. However, Choice Band Huge Power sets can OHKO other revenge killers if they aren't using a faster priority move that threaten to KOes Primal-Groudon.
**Faster Hard Hitters**: In a one-on-one scenario, faster Pokemon that are sufficiently strong, such as Huge Power Mega Mewtwo X, Protean Mega Latios with Grass Knot or Earth Power, and Choice Specs Mega Mewtwo Y or Mega Rayquaza, can force Primal Groudon out. Some Shell Smash + Wonder Guard users, such as Xerneas, Mega Gardevoir, and Mega Lucario can OHKO Primal Groudon if boosted. However, these Wonder Guard Sweepers must be careful of Huge Power Primal Groudon's priority, as the former two are removed by Bullet Punch, and the latter is OHKOed by Mach Punch
**Water-type Coverage**: Pokemon that Primal Groudon often switches in on, like Xerneas, Wonder Guard Mega Mewtwo Y, and Mega Manectric, can run Water-type moves to catch it off guard and OHKO it.
**Wonder Guard**: Huge Power and Shadow Tag Primal Groudon can sometimes get walled by opposing Wonder Guard users if they lack the coverage to hit them. However, Mold Breaker variants can hit them without worry, and Huge Power Primal Groudon can trap the Pokemon switching out with Pursuit.
