SV OU Help me improve my fire squad

I recently finished playing a monotype playthrough, using only fire mons. I know it isn't an optimal setup, but damnit, I've grown fond of my firey boys. I'm currently taking my first babysteps into the world of competitive pokemon, and I'd like to start with my playthrough squad.

Coco Loco (Skeledirge) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Torch Song
- Shadow Ball
- Will-O-Wisp
- Slack Off

Honestly, for Skeledirge I just followed the recommended builds. I made him specially defensive, as Torkoal can handle physical attacks with its insane defense stat. It's just your standard burn/torch song/slack off build.

Talos (Talonflame) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Flame Body
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- U-turn
- Flare Blitz
- Tera Blast

This guy is a missile. He can outspeed and one shot almost anything, that doesn't resist his attacks. I know it's probably more optimal to run him with heavy duty boots and a utility focused build, but god damn it's fun to run him through half of the opponent's team, before he faints to his own recoil damage. Tera ground and tera blast are there to provide extra coverage, as well as covering for Talonflame's weaknesses.

Megamam (Armarouge) (M) @ Power Herb
Ability: Weak Armor
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psyshock
- Armor Cannon
- Meteor Beam
- Calm Mind

This is one, I don't really know what to do with. Armarouge has great coverage, powerful attacks, and if he gets going, he's seriously hard to stop. Tera steel is there to provide as many resistances as possible, making it easier to proc weak armor without dying. The reason I run power herb and meteor beam is mostly to cover for flying types. Meteor beam usually one shots whatever it targets, while providing a great special attack buff going forward.

Taurnado (Tauros-Paldea-Blaze) (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Raging Bull
- Flame Charge
- Earthquake

I honestly don't know what to do with Tauros. He's got very powerful attacks, and decent speed and bulk. However, he very frequently gets one shotted and outsped. Do you guys have any ideas?

Chilimero (Scovillain) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Giga Drain
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Sunny Day

Scovillain is seriously the most underrated pokemon this generation. With its insane speed in the sun, solid STAB attacks and unique typing, it's a force to be reckoned with. It usually outspeeds and oneshots anything, that doesn't double resist fire or grass. The only thing I'm not so sure about here, is what its fourth move should be.

Tom (Torkoal) (M) @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Body Press
- Rapid Spin
- Will-O-Wisp
- Stealth Rock

Torkoal is obviously the sun setter of the squad. He also takes care of hazards, with stealth rocks and rapid spin. His high defense helps against physical attacks, as well as boosting his body press damage. Nobody ever sees a fighting tera boosted Torkoal body press coming.

The first thing I will say is that there is an official SV Monotype metagame and ladder that you can check out if you'd prefer to play that instead of OU. If you'd like I can also move your team to SV Other Tiers sub-section of RMT with the Monotype tag for advice there.

As for OU you are going to have some trouble with this team. Since you are using sun you will want to build it as an *offensive* team.
So here are some changes.

:Torkoal: Use lava plume or potentially scorching sands as you will want to hit as hard as possible and possibly spread burns on switch ins. This is the core of your team as sun is very powerful and useful to fire types so play him extremely carefully.

:Scovillain: Drop sunny day, use growth, substitute, or Overheat instead, and swap to tera Ghost to evade extremespeed revenge kills from Dragonite. Also use this spread EVs: 44 HP / 252 SpA / 212 Spe Timid Nature which allows you to outspeed Walking Wake in sun.
You could also move the HP evs into attack with a Hasty Nature and fourth move Stomping Tantrum to deal with Heatran and such.

:Tauros-Paldea-Blaze: This is your main physical wall since you don't want to risk Torkoal all the time. Very sub par pokemon but we can make it work. You will want to use this to counter Kingambit mostly.
Tauros-Paldea-Blaze (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Raging Bull
- Earthquake
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect

:Armarouge: This set is fine though it folds to any priority but that's just the risk you take.

:Talonflame: Extremely weak pokemon, especially since you don't have any way to deal with stealth rocks. I would recommend using boots with bulk up if you really want to use him, or swap for another physical fire like Gouging Fire which can be amazing in sun.
Gouging Fire @ Loaded Dice
Ability: Protosynthesis
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Scale Shot
- Earthquake

:Skeledirge: This is fine as a special defensive pokemon (as long as you change to boots) but I would consider swapping it for Iron Moth since you want to be more offensive, and Moth still has solid special defense.
Iron Moth @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
EVs: 124 Def / 132 SpA / 252 Spe
Tera Type: Ground
Timid Nature
- Fiery Dance
- Sludge Wave
- Tera Blast
- Substitute

Overall your new team would look like this :Torkoal::Scovillain::Tauros-Paldea-Blaze::Armarouge::Gouging Fire::Iron Moth: <- click for paste

Thank you so much for your reply! There's a lot of useful information, and I'll definitely give your version of the team a go!

I definitely prefer regular OU to monotype, as there is more variety in the match ups, and the matches don't feel as one sided. I've actually been doing very well so far, but I might not be that high in the ranks yet, who knows.

Anyways, about Torkoal. Would you invest in special attack instead of defense then?

I've also been running this guy as tera dragon and tera blast to deal with the occasional dragons. It's been working alright so far, but I'm definitely feeling the vulnerability to ice. Also, when you say he outspeeds Walking Wake, that's including a potential proto boost on the WW, right?

That's very interesting, thank you.

You say I need more offense, how about a throat spray build maybe? His Unaware ability has come in extremely clutch a few times so far, so I'm hesitant to boot him off the team.

Speaking of, the point of this team is to kind of maximise the potential of my playthrough team. I have no doubt that Gouging Fire and Iron Moth would improve my team very much, and I'll definitely see how far I can take them. However, I don't see myself switching out Talonflame and Skeledirge in the long run.

Again, I appreciate the feedback so very much!

I would keep torkoal defensive as you want him to survive as much as possible.
The speed on Scovillain will outspeed Wake with the Protosynthesis boost yes, just not Scarf + Proto speed but no one is running that.
Throat spray Skeledirge might work for offensive yes, you just still run the risk of being hit by faster things. But it could work.

Alright, fair enough. Thank you
