Help Making a VGC Reg G 2025 Miraidon team

So, I've recently wanted to get into playing Pokemon competitively, but I have very little knowledge of how to actually play it. That said, I'm gonna try my hand at learning it, and made a Miraidon team based on what I could scrap together here and at Pikalytics. Let me know what you think and what could be changed!

Miraidon @ Choice Specs

- Volt Switch

Ogerpon-Hearthflame (F) @ Hearthflame Mask
Ability: Mold Breaker

Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 220 HP / 12 Atk / 252 Def / 4 SpD / 20 Spe
Impish Nature
- Follow Me
- Spiky Shield

Urshifu (M) @ Focus Sash (I know Urshifu Rapid-Strike is better, but Urshifu Single Strike is my favorite)
Ability: Unseen Fist
Level: 50
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Wicked Blow
- Sucker Punch (I'm between using this and Ice Punch)

Impish Nature

- Parting Shot

Heyo SilverArrow27, welcome to Smogon! This looks like a relatively solid team, though I have a few notes:

:miraidon: Tera Electric --> Tera Fairy
First of all, could you explain the EV spread to me? With that out of the way, I recommend running Tera Fairy over Tera Electric, as it boosts the power of Dazzling Gleam and helps out in the mirror and against Raging Bolt. Tera Electric has also fallen out of favor due to its defensive drawbacks, and Discharge's fall off. I would really only use Tera Electric with Discharge, but even then, Tera Ghost could be better.

:ogerpon-hearthflame: MORE SPEEEEED
Honestly, I really don't think slow Ogerpon-H is all that good. I recommend dropping some bulk for more speed, probably enough to outspeed Landorus-I.

:farigiraf: Tera Ground --> Tera Water/Dark Tera Blast --> Foul Play
OK. I get Tera Ground Tera Blast for the mirror match, but do you really need it, especially if you have Tera Fairy Miraidon? Tera Water is much better defensively into Calyrex-I, which Farigiraf is brought against mostly. Tera Dark can be used to deal more damage with Foul Play against attacker like Calyrex-I. Tera Dark also keeps good defensive properties against Calyrex-S while letting you have a **better** MU into Chi-Yu.

:iron hands:
Ice Punch --> Fake Out Volt Switch --> Low Kick / Heavy Slam
Ice Punch kind of sucks IMO. You can use Heavy Slam to hit Landorus if you are scared of it, but Draco Meteor or Ogerpon-H should beat it. Fake Out also lets for more plays, keeping frailer allies like your Miraidon safe. You don't have to switch Volt Switch out, but Low Kick can deal massive damage into Calyrex-I and Zamazenta-C and more heavy Pokemon. Heavy Slam just hits hard into Flutter Mane, Amoonguss, etc.

:incineroar:-->:whimsicott:
YOU NEED SPEED CONTROLLLLLLLLLL

IMO at this point you can just used Luca Ceribelli's World's team and swap out the Urshifu-R for Urshifu-S.

Thanks for the advice, this was really helpful! As for the weird builds, I sorta just went with whatever builds I could find an tried to make it all fit while still trying to use my favorite mons (Hence why Urshifu-S and Incineroar are here over Urshifu-R and Whimsicot). Is there any way I could make them work into the team? If not, I wouldn't mind switching out Incineroar for Whimsicott since Tailwind is really useful. I'll make the other adjustments as well, and also, sorry for replying so late, I've been a bit busy these past few days and haven't had much time to check.

You can actually keep the Urshifu-S, and you can maybe drop Iron Hands for Incineroar, but that would be rather suboptimal.

Whimsicott @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Prankster
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Encore
- Tailwind
- Protect
you probably don't need protect on whimsicott, I would suggest using light screen since that helps your matchup into opposing Calyrex-Shadow and the mirror. I would also suggest a bulkier EV spread to allow your whims to take some hits since it doesn't have sash to allow it to stick on the field better.

I would use this spread:
Whimsicott @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Prankster
Level: 50
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 236 HP / 164 SpD / 108 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Tailwind
- Light Screen
- Encore

Tera Dark is meant to prevent opposing Prankster mons from taunting/encoring you and allows you to resist Astral Barrage
