This is my first competitive pokemon team. and i wanted to build it around mega gyarados since he is my favorite pokemon. Any and all feedback is welcomed.
Forretress @ leftovers
ability: sturdy
nature: sassy
EVs: 252HP / 252 SpD
-stealth rock
-rapid spin
-volt switch
-toxic
forretress serves as my lead most of the time. I new i needed a rapid spin because gyarados is weak to stealth rock. he is also is there to set up my rocks. he can also serve as some what of a wall passes toxic to opposing pokemon, which helps cripple walls and overall give gyarados a easier time to sweeping.
Goodra @ assault vest
ability: gooey
nature: modest
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA
-draco meteor
-sludge wave
-earthquake
-sludge wave
goodra is some what of a special wall, but his main purpose on my team is for him to be a special tank. he can switch into most things that my team is weak against and either scare them out or hit them with a super effective attack he checks breloom, and heatran. even with out any attack investment earthquake 2HKO's heatran. also draco meteor hits most things really hard
Diggersby @ choice scarf
ability: huge power
nature: jolly
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
-return
-earthquake
-u-turn
-wild charge
diggersby purpose on my team is revenge killer. i decided to go with the jolly nature over the adamant nature so i can outspeed mega lopunny and choice scarf tyranitar. wild charge pretty much OKO's mega charizard Y everytime. u-turn is good for bringing in teammates on opponents who they can check who diggersby can't.
Azumarill @ choice band
ability: huge power
nature: adamant
EVs: 252 Hp / 252 Atk
-waterfall
-play rough
-aqua jet
-knock off
azumarill is my wall breaker i wanted someone on my team who could hi it really hard. his fairy typing is a great defensive type allowing me to check dragonite locked into outrage. aqua jet and choice band also allow him to serve a little bit as a revenge killer. i also wanted someone with a priority move on my team. knock off removes evolite from chansey and porygon 2 which allow gyarados to sweep easier
gengar @ life orb
ability: levitate
nature: timid
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
-shadow ball
-sludge bomb
-focus blast
-destiny bond
gengar is my special sweeper i needed someone on my team who could move fast and hit hard without any setup. my team has somewhat of a grass weakness which gengar can handle. he also has good synergy with diggersby. life orb just increases his ability to sweep. gengar can also check cresselia who otherwise pretty much flat out walls my team
Gyarados @ gyaradosite
ability: intimidate
nature: adamant
EVs: 88 Hp/ 192 Atk/ 224 Spe
-waterfall
-earthquake
-ice fang
-dragon dance
gyarados is the pokemon i built this team around. his main purpose on this team is to sweep late game. i went with intimidate over moxie to give gyarados a easier time to set up. the added Hp investment is used to allow gyarados to set up on talonflame after a intimidate drop. ice fang is my coverage move which hits super effective on garchomp, dragonite with multiscale and venasuar with thick fat upon mega evolving because of mold breaker.
well here's my team any criticism is welcomed
