Growl? In competitive Pokemon? That's right, Miltank wields this usually useless move alongside Milk Drink and good bulk to completely wall Snorlax. Growl's 61 PP also eclipses Snorlax's Curse, making it a near-permanent wall to it and other Curse users like Tyranitar. The main reason it's used, however, is Heal Bell, which enables wallbreaker and defensive teammates alike. This gives it a strong niche as a cleric and check to Snorlax on certain stall teams. For example, Heal Bell adds longevity and security to Belly Drum + Rest users in Snorlax and Quagsire as well as Rest Marowak while rejuvenating defensive Snorlax and Raikou sets lacking Sleep Talk. When compared to the only other viable cleric, Blissey, Miltank also sports a high Speed stat, which is very useful against threats like Jynx and Nidoking after a sleep sacrifice. Spreading paralysis via Body Slam gives the aforementioned slower wallbreakers more opportunities while threatening offensive switch-ins like Zapdos and Exeggutor.
