With its titanic physical bulk, Groudon is a strong support Pokemon that offers utility to Ubers teams, thanks to its ability to check powerful attackers and get up entry hazards. Will-O-Wisp allows Groudon to threaten offensive Pokemon like Koraidon and Zacian, and its access to both Spikes and Stealth Rocks helps wear down opposing Pokemon for the rest of the team, though Spikes are more commonly used due to dealing typeless damage. Precipice Blades is a powerful STAB attack that OHKOes Clodsire, Miraidon, and Zacian-C. Protect allows Groudon to gain valuable HP from Leftovers, as it has no other means of recovery. Tera Water lets Groudon resist Behemoth Blade from Zacian as well as check Kyogre, while Tera Fairy grants Groudon immunity to powerful Dragon-type moves from Koraidon and Miraidon. Due to its middling special bulk, Groudon pairs well with specially defensive teammates like Eternatus and Ting-Lu that can take special attacks for it.
