Groudon @ Leftovers
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 HP/156 Atk/32 Def/8 Spd/60 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
---
Standard Support Groudon. He not only leads with Sun support, but SR support too, helping to nail Rayquaza and Lugia for easier kills. (This also makes it easier for Cresselia to finish off Rayquaza with Ice Beam).
Toxic works well because Cresselia gets TW, and Earthquake will kill most Steel/Poison types anyways. Dragon Claw helps against the Lati twins and Rayquaza.
Giratina does scare it away though.
Cresselia (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/108 Def/148 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Ice Beam
- Reflect
- Moonlight
---
Trully effective at slowing down fast sweepers (not named Darkrai), and doesn't mind taking a hit while doing so, especially when it can heal 66% in 1 turn thanks to Groudon.
Reflect gives Cresselia a support role, in addition to TW, and gives it a way to switch out often, yet still serve a purpose, and switching out isn't such a bad idea with the low Moonlight PP.
Before knocking Cresselia, compare it to Lugia's "Great Wall" set. Most of the moves are similar: Ice Beam, Reflect, Roost, Light Screen or Whirlwind or Toxic.
The differences lie in Cresselia's weaknesses and lesser Sp. Attack. Cresselia isn't weak to SRock, the common Ice Beam and Thunder, while Lugia keeps all of Cresselia's Weaknesses except for Bug, perhaps giving it better survivability against Heracross, but still...
Additionally, I like the idea of Thunderwave, something Lugia doesn't learn, as this means Groudon can use Toxic over Thunder Wave, which arguably works better when combined with SRock than TW would. (Take that Lati@s).
Plus, I like the idea of Cresselia being able to switch into Kyogre and not risk getting hit with Thunder/Ice Beam, like Lugia/Latias would have to worry about.
Heatran (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 20 HP/236 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice] / Dragon Pulse ?
- Explosion
- Earth Power
---
Comes in to stop W-o-w, and abuse Flash Fire+Sunny Day+Fire Blast.
Also a great switch in against Ice and Dragon Attacks (aimed at Latias), while sending some Ice attacks to kill of Rayquaza.
I perhaps could replace Hidden Power [Ice] with Dragon Pulse to better counter Giratina and Lati@s, but Heatran is one of the only pokemon able to come in on Rayquaza, (resisting Extreme Speed, Outrage, and Overheat), unless it uses Earthquake, and can Outspeed Swords Dance versions with Choice Scarf while not being afraid of Extreme Speed (something Latias can't always pull off).
Dialga @ Expert Belt
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 120 HP/136 Atk/252 SAtk
Quiet nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Draco Meteor
- Thunder
- Fire Blast
- Brick Break
---
Mixed Dialga works great to counter Blissey (especially Toxic Blissey), and doesn't mind coming in on Kyogre and using Thunder, or abusing Groudon's sunlight and using Fire Blast. Thunder also makes up for Latias not having it. Brick Break also lets me effectively come in and kill Tyranitar, as long as I don't come in on EQ/FOcus Punch.
Shiftry (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 4 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Rash nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
- Dark Pulse
- Grass Knot
- Nasty Plot
- Explosion
---
Shiftry is like a CBand Seaking on a Kyogre team, it deals with Psychics, INCLUDING Lugia! (With Nasty Plot of course), as well as the ghosts: Giratina and Shedinja.
[This is something Seaking doesn't have because Lugia is nuetral to Megahorn, not to mention Lugia usually pack Reflect, and often can't hurt the Ghosts very much.]
Shiftry can also handle Lati@s because of Explosion, and doesn't mind coming in on their Grass Knots.
Speaking of Grass Knots, Grass Knot lets me hit Kyogre/Tyranitar/Groudon hard on the switch, and unless Tyranitar is Scarfed, I will outspeed it with all the Speed EVs and can hit it again.
My main concern here is whether I need Hidden Power. I could use HP Ground for Heatran, Metagross, Magnezone and Dialgas, but I could also use Hidden Power [Fire] as it gets a boost in the sun and deals with Scizor, Forretress, Metagross, Weavile, and other Chlorophyllers best.
P.S. Did I mention Shiftry makes a great switch-in to Exeggutor, with an Immunity to Psychic, resistance and low damage from Grass Knot, and access to STAB Dark Pulse?
Latias (F) @ Soul Dew
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 112 HP/192 Spd/204 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Roost
- Grass Knot
---
Latias packs Grass Knot incase Shiftry dies, so I can cover Tyranitar and Groudon, while covering Kyogre. (Obviously I wouldn't like staying in on T-tar, unless I predict Pursuit, but Grass Knot does provide at least an opportunity to fight back, and fight back hard).
My main goal is to abuse Sunlight without relying on it. Keep in mind I use a single Cholorophyller, and only 1 Fire type. I do not have a large amount of Fire moves (only Heatran and Dialga use Fire Blast), and Cresselia whom uses Moonlight also benefits from the sun. Groudon is really here to support my team, as he uses SRock, Toxic and his ability, but by no means does losing him in battle mean my team will lose.
Cresselia also offers support in the name of Reflect, and Thunder Wave.
I also have less concern about SR, TSpikes and Spikes than would require Rapid Spin. Having 2 Levitators and 2 Steels types means that Toxic Spikes wont hamper most of my team, and if any consellation, 1 of the 2 Pokemon on my team that isn't Immune to it is the lead. Additionally, SR is resisted by Groudon and Dialga, while Latias/Cresselia do have ways of healing off the 12.5% damage.
Spikes does offer some concern, but remember most Spikers are Steel [Forretress, Skarmary] and wont do well against my Sun team anyways.
Overall I do have some concerns, the main one being a Special Attack focus, which is to be expected in Ubers, but none the less adds to a worry about Blissey and Calm Minders like Lati@s.
Fortunately I do have Groudon and Dialga which are Immune to Thunder Wave and Toxic respectably, and pack enough attack power to send at least Blissey running away, but nonetheless I packed Explosion on Heatran/Shiftry just incase.
Kyogre is semi-dealt with for I have Latias and Dialga to switch in and hit with either Thunder or Grass Knot. I can also hit non-scarfed versions with Explosion from Heatran. As for Kyogre leads, since my Groudon is slower, I will usually get Sunlight as most Kyogre leads are Scarfed, reducing Thunder's Accuracy to 50%, and cutting down Water Spout.
I am concerned about Rayquaza too... I mean, it could DDance and Outrage through my team. I do have Thunder Wave Cresselia and Dragon Claw Groudon (with a Bulky EV Spread), but still I am concerned. I guess worse case scenario, I could TW it, and then switch in Heatran for Hidden Power [Ice].
