[OVERVIEW]

Grimmsnarl stands out as one of the best support Pokemon in the metagame with its diverse movepool and access to Prankster. Its main role is to set screens with priority, which it can safely do thanks to its immunity to opposing Prankster Taunt users such as Whimsicott and Tornadus. Grimmsnarl also has a great base 120 Attack stat, allowing it to hit targets such as Palkia and Urshifu-S hard with its Fairy-type attacks. Its main downside, however, lies in the fact that common Dark-types such as Incineroar and opposing Grimmsnarl are able to ignore its status moves thanks to their immunity to Prankster. It also has less bulk than other supportive Pokemon, such as Porygon2 and Amoonguss, allowing most super effective hits such as Zacian-C's Behemoth Blade and Dialga's Max Steelspike to often take away upwards of 90% of its health even through screens.

[SET COMMENTS]

* Spirit Break is the main attacking move for Grimmsnarl. Its Fairy typing allows it to deal with Dark- and Dragon-type threats such as Yveltal and Palkia.

* Light Screen and Reflect, when combined with Prankster, are fast and reliable ways to limit the offensive pressure from the metagame's common attacking threats. Light Screen helps reduce the output of Pokemon such as Dialga and Kyogre, where Reflect reduces the damage taken from physical attackers such as Zacian-C and Rillaboom.

* Grimmsnarl has a plethora of supportive options in its final slot. Fake Tears allows the team's special attackers to deal more damage, which is effective against threats such as Assault Vest Landorus-T and naturally specially bulky walls such as Calyrex-I. Taunt is especially effective against opposing supportive Pokemon such as Porygon2 and Tapu Fini.

* Trick + Lagging Tail is another option that provides a degree of speed control if the team doesn't already have one. However, this also comes at the cost of not using Light Clay, meaning the duration of Light Screen and Reflect is shorter.

* The given EV spread allows Grimmsnarl to take a neutral Behemoth Blade from Zacian-C through Reflect and -1 Dialga's Max Steelspike through Light Screen.

Grimmsnarl can use Fake Out for more opportunities to control the field. Scary Face and Thunder Wave are other forms of speed control that can be considered. Scary Face has the benefits of perfect accuracy and working on Ground- and Electric-type Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Regieleki, while Thunder Wave comes with the chance to immobilize the opposing Pokemon. Sucker Punch can also be used as an option to further counter Calyrex-S as well as provide a method of self-activation for common Weakness Policy partners such as Solgaleo and Necrozma-DM. More offensive Grimmsnarl sets with Gigantamax can be considered due to Grimmsnarl's good Attack stat and strong Fairy- and Dark-type coverage, including G-Max Snooze, which has a 50% chance to inflict Yawn on foes.

[OVERVIEW]

Grimmsnarl stands out as one of the best utility support Pokemon in the metagame with its diverse supportive movepool and access to Prankster ability, giving most of its supportive tools priority.(core idea here is good I think but you're making this sentence way more complex than it has to be. I removed the last blurb bc its kinda vomitting dex info) Its Dark typing allows grants it immunity to typical opposing Prankster Taunt users such as Whimsicott and Tornadus and opposing Grimmsnarl, allowing it to continue doing its job in front of these Pokemon. (mirror mentions are awkward if we can avoid them, fluff) Grimmsnarl also has a modest 120 Attack stat, allowing it to hit targets such as the likes of Palkia and Urshifu-S hard well with its Fairy-type attacks and occasionally Calyrex-S with its Dark-type attacks (there isn't a dark move in the set so I think this mention would case confusion). Its main downsides however are the fact that common Dark-types such as Incineroar and opposing Grimmsnarl are able to ignore its Status moves thanks to their immunity to Prankster. It also has a relatively lacking amount of less bulk than other supportive Pokemon such as Amoonguss or Porygon2. As such, allowing most super effective hits such as Zacian-C's Behemoth Blade and Dialga's Max Steelspike to often do upwards of 90% of Grimmsnarl's health even through the relative screens.

I would like a specific mention of screens here as its main role.

[SET COMMENTS]

- Spirit Break is the main attacking move for Grimmsnarl. The Fairy-typing allows it to deal with Dark- and Dragon-type threats such as Urshifu-S, Yveltal and Palkia. Its secondary effect of dropping the target's Special Attack allows it to reduce the damage output from Pokemon such as Kyogre and Calyrex-S. (You kinda stated this in the overview already, with those specific examples. Either drop the OP mention or rework this section to be a bit more unique. Second section feels like info vomit since you're likely just gonna click Light Screen vs these guys anyways).

- Light Screen and Reflect are helpful damage reduction tools that Grimmsnarl will likely get up thanks to its Prankster ability, and allowing the team to situationally increase its bulk based on what its facing (this just reads really weird to me so I want to highlight it, I would just mention that Light Screen and Reflect with Prankster support are incredibly reliable ways to limit the damage output of Restricted Pokemon with high amounts of offensive pressure). Light Screen helps reduce the output of Pokemon such as Dialga and Kyogre, where Reflect reduces the damage taken from physical attackers such as Zacian-C and Rillaboom.

- Grimmsnarl has a plethora of supportive options in its final slot. Fake Tears allows the team's (AH) Sspecial Aattackers (attack is only capitalized when describing the stat I'm pretty sure) to deal more damage, which can be effective against threats such as Assault Vest Landorus-T and naturally specially bulky walls such as Calyrex-Ice and Porygon2. Taunt is especially effective against opposing utility supportive Pokemon such as Tornadus, Whimsicott Porygon2 and Tapu Fini. (I don't like using the pranksters that naturally outspeed it as a selling point for Taunt)

- Trick + Lagging Tail is another option that provides a degree of speed control if the team doesn't already have so. (This goes with the above blurb since they are all fourth slot mentions, mention the opportunity cost of giving up light clay)

- Grimmsnarl's EVs allow it to take a neutral Behemoth Blade from Zacian-C through Reflect and -1 Dialga Max Steelspike through Light Screen. 20 Speed EVs also allow it to overspeed -1 max Speed Lapras while not affecting its survivability, which can allow it to Spirit Break before Lapras can attack reducing its damage output. (When it gets to where you're factoring -1 stats into the calc, I think it is a little too specific and not as broad. Honestly I think the spread should just be HP / Def / Spd investment, but I'm pretty flexible on what this will look like. Like I said, I'm sure we can come up with a better one)

As mentioned, Grimmsnarl is capable of running a wide variety of supportive moves. Some more options include Grimmsnarl can use Fake Out which allows for more effective double targeting as well as hindering the opponent's side of the field for even more opportunities to control the playing field (fluff + examples are too specific for a move with such broad applications). Scary Face is another form of speed control for the team that can be considered, as dropping the target's Speed by 2 stages is significant in allowing middling speed Pokemon such as Groudon and Kyogre to outspeed Pokemon they normally wouldn't be able to. Thunder Wave can also be used to paralyse opposing Pokemon, also dropping their Speed and adding a chance to do nothing for that turn at the cost of lesser accuracy. (merge these) Sucker Punch can also be used as an option to further counter Calyrex-S, as well as provide a method of self-activation for common Weakness Policy partners such as Solgaleo and Necrozma-Dusk-Mane. (mention a fully offensive GMAX set that makes good use of its typing coverage and good base attack)

I know this seems like a lot but some of it is just for readability sake. I can sense very obvious improvement from the Dialga analysis. You know where to find me if you need anything.

Grimmsnarl stands out as one of the best support Pokemon in the metagame with its diverse movepool and access to Prankster. Its main role for basically any team is the ability to set screens with priority, which it can safely do thanks to it being immune to opposing Prankster Taunt users such as Whimsicott and Tornadus. paired with its Dark typing grants it immunity to opposing Prankster Taunt users such as Whimsicott and Tornadus often allowing Grimmsnarl to be undisturbed in achieving this role. Grimmsnarl also has a strong modest (not huge on "modest" to describe a physical attacker) 120 Attack stat, allowing it to hit targets such as Palkia and Urshifu-S hard with its Fairy-type attacks. G-Max Snooze is a great way to pressure the field with the chance to inflict Yawn often causing switches to avoid sleep. Close Combat gives Grimmsnarl a way to break through opposing Steel-types such as Kartana and Dialga while also providing Max Knuckle to further increase its Attack.

(IMO too much detail for an option you might play 1 out of every 100 games)

Grimmsnarl can use Fake Out for more opportunities to control the field. Scary Face and Thunder Wave are other forms of speed control for the team that can be considered. (either keep this bit or change forms to options, don't rly think it was too wordy initially and now this bit of nuance is lost) Scary Face has the benefits of perfect accuracy and working on Ground- and Electric-type Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Regieleki, while Thunder Wave comes with the chance to immobilize the opponent opposing Pokemon.
