With blisteringly high Speed and complementarily good Special Attack, Greninja is the fastest unboosted Pokemon in UU and a terrifying wallbreaker. Surf OHKOes top-tier threats like Excadrill, Hisuian Arcanine, and Rhyperior, while Dark Pulse OHKOes Latios and most Iron Crown variants, as well as 2HKOing Slowking. Ice Beam covers Pokemon like Zapdos and Hydrapple that would otherwise threaten Greninja, as well as consistently 2HKOing Assault Vest Tornadus-T. Spikes is a good option for the last slot, as it makes use of Greninja's enormous Speed to let it act as an effective entry hazard setter that can wear down opposing teams by forcing repeated switches. Protean Greninja rarely uses Tera, as that disables Protean, but Tera Water allows it to pick up OHKOs on Pokemon like Cobalion and Scizor with Surf. Greninja is frail and, without Water Shuriken, susceptible to being revenge killed by priority moves like Hisuian Arcanine's Extreme Speed and Lokix's First Impression, so it benefits from switch-ins like Rhyperior and Zapdos. Azumarill is also particularly threatening, as it resists Greninja's STAB moves and can KO it back with Play Rough, so teammates like Ogerpon and Ogerpon-C that can remove it are needed.
