[OVERVIEW]

Greninja is one of the most notable offensive presences in the tier, owing to its stellar ability in Protean, good mixed offenses, and a very good Speed tier. Its extremely wide movepool in conjunction with Z-Moves enables it to make full use of its ability and circumvent would-be checks and counters such as Toxapex, Slowbro, and Gastrodon. This makes it a very versatile Pokemon, capable of choosing its good matchups, and a great option for luring Pokemon that might otherwise prove to be an issue for its team. Moreover, Greninja is one of the select few good offensive Spikes setters due to its tendency to force an abundance of switches because of its unpredictability, as well as its ability to beat common Defog users such as Zapdos and Tapu Fini. However, Greninja cannot opt to run every move it wants to run, and therefore cannot hit everything it desires to hit. This means that it is always checked by something, depending on what set it is running. Greninja also has lacklustre bulk, which renders it incapable of taking even strong resisted hits repeatedly, such as Heatran’s Magma Storm and Hydreigon’s Dark Pulse. This also makes it prone to priority from the likes of Mega Scizor, Bisharp, Mega Mawile, and Mega Medicham.

Set Description
========

Hydro Pump is Greninja's best move to hit Fire- and Rock-types with, such as Heatran, Mega Tyranitar, and Rotom-H. It also provides a strong neutral hit against Steel-types such as Mega Scizor, Corviknight, and Magearna. Ice Beam is useful for hitting Grass-types seeking to pivot into Greninja like Tangrowth. It also allows it to threaten a common Defogger in Zapdos, as well as Dragon-types such as Garchomp and Hydreigon. Grass Knot in combination with Grassium Z allows Greninja to OHKO common Defog users in Tapu Fini and Rotom-W. It also enables it to lure otherwise very solid checks in Slowbro, Gastrodon, and Seismitoad. Spikes is a great utility move due to Greninja’s tendency to force a lot of switches as well as its ability to beat common Defog users in Zapdos, Tapu Fini, and Rotom-W. It also weakens some of its common switch-ins, such as Ferrothorn and Toxapex, for its teammates to take advantage of.

Usage Tips
========

Try to bring Greninja in through VoltTurn support or on predicted double switches, as Greninja's mediocre bulk means it struggles to come in even on resisted hits. Greninja's colorful coverage gives it the ability to threaten a substantial amount of the metagame. Use this to your advantage by attempting to weaken popular defensive cores consisting of Pokemon such as Heatran, Rotom-H, Tangrowth, and Tapu Fini. Aim to set up Spikes as soon as possible on forced switches to weaken Greninja's switch-ins, such as Ferrothorn and Toxapex, for teammates to take advantage of. Attempt to lure Water-types such as Tapu Fini, Slowbro, Rotom-W, and Gastrodon with Bloom Doom in order to either keep Spikes up, pave the way for Greninja itself, or for a teammate. Bluffing a Choice Scarf set can let you surprise opponents that think Greninja is Choice-locked with a super effective coverage move, such as the aforementioned Water-types with Bloom Doom.

Team Options
========

Due to the fact that Greninja beats common Defog users and forces plenty of switches, having a teammate to set up Stealth Rock is a very good idea in order to form a hazard-stacking core. Therefore, the likes of Heatran, Mega Tyranitar, and Clefable make for good teammates. Pokemon that benefit from the removal of defensive Water-types, such as Gliscor, Cinderace, and specially defensive Heatran enjoy Greninja’s ability to pave the path for them by luring these Water-types. Pokemon that can exert a lot of offensive pressure and appreciate Spikes support, such as Mega Latios, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Mawile make for excellent partners. Toxapex and Ferrothorn wall this set with ease, so having a strong means of pressuring these with the likes of Tapu Lele, Mega Medicham, and Magma Storm Heatran, is helpful. In addition, this set fails to keep Spikes up against Corviknight. Therefore, pairing Greninja with the likes of the aforementioned Heatran, as well as Magnezone and Rotom-H, is also very prudent. Mega Lopunny, Slowbro, and Cinderace can all pivot Greninja in safely, with Mega Lopunny and Cinderace luring in the likes of Slowbro, Zapdos, and Hippowdon, all of which Greninja can take advantage of.

Set Description

Dig gives access to Tectonic Rage, which allows Greninja to remove the likes of Toxapex, Heatran, Mega Tyranitar, Aegislash, and Mega Mawile at high levels of health. Gunk Shot is useful for hitting common Grass- and Fairy-types attempting to pivot into Greninja such as Tangrowth and Clefable. It also allows Greninja to pressure a common Defogger in Tapu Fini, and proves to be the best option for crippling the likes of Slowbro and Rotom-W due to the high chance of afflicting the target with poison. Ice Beam is important in order to invalidate Ground- and Dragon-types as switch-ins, notable examples being Garchomp, Gliscor, and Hydreigon. In addition, it also pressures a prominent Defog user in Zapdos. Spikes is an excellent tool to punish switches, which Greninja tends to force a lot. Greninja is a particularly good user of the move, due to its ability to beat common Defog users in Zapdos and Tapu Fini. Spikes also weakens some of its common switch-ins for its teammates, such as Slowbro lacking Heavy-Duty Boots, and Ferrothorn. A Hasty nature is preferred over a Naive nature to take hits from Heatran slightly better while not hindering Greninja's damage output.

Usage Tips
========

Attempt to bring Greninja in on predicted double switches or through pivoting support as Greninja's mediocre bulk means it struggles to come in even on resisted hits. Greninja is able to hit a vast amount of the metagame for good amounts of damage. Harness this in order to weaken popular defensive cores consisting of Pokemon such as Heatran, Toxapex, Tangrowth, and Tapu Fini. Aim to set up Spikes as soon as possible on forced switches to weaken Greninja's switch-ins such as Ferrothorn and Slowbro, for teammates to take advantage of. Attempt to lure the likes of Toxapex, Aegislash, and Heatran with Tectonic Rage, in order to either pave the way for Greninja itself, or for a teammate. Bluffing a Choice Scarf set can let you surprise opponents that think Greninja is Choice-locked with a super effective coverage move, such as the aforementioned targets with Tectonic Rage.

Team Options
========

Greninja beats common Defoggers in Zapdos and Tapu Fini, and forces a lot of switches. Therefore, having a teammate to set up Stealth Rock is very advisable in order to form a hazard-stacking core. Heatran, Mega Tyranitar, and Clefable can all reliably set up Stealth Rock and fit on the balanced teams that Greninja resides in. Pokemon that benefit from the removal of the likes of Toxapex, Aegislash, and Heatran, such as Stealth Rock Mega Lopunny, Magearna, and Calm Mind Clefable, enjoy Greninja’s ability to pave the path for them by luring these. Pokemon that can exert a lot of offensive pressure and appreciate Spikes support such as Mega Lopunny, Mega Latios, and Mega Mawile, make for excellent partners. Ferrothorn, Slowbro, and Corviknight wall this set with ease, so having a strong means of pressuring these with the likes of Heatran, Kyurem, and Magnezone is helpful. Mega Lopunny, Cinderace, and Slowbro can all pivot Greninja in safely, with Mega Lopunny and Cinderace luring in Zapdos, Toxapex, and Hippowdon, all of which Greninja can take advantage of.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A Waterium Z set consisting of Hydro Pump, Gunk Shot or Ice Beam, Hidden Power Fire, and Spikes may be considered if denting the likes of Clefable, Corviknight, and Mega Scizor is desired. A Choice Scarf set is another viable option as it can revenge kill very notable targets such as Kartana, Hydreigon, Garchomp, and Volcarona. However, such a set fails to break through many defensive threats, and is therefore not advisable over the likes of Choice Scarf Cinderace, Victini, Landorus-T, and Kartana. Low Kick may be used alongside Fightinium Z to lure the likes of Chansey, Heatran, Kyurem, and Mega Tyranitar. However, such a set is utterly walled by common metagame staples in Toxapex, Aegislash, and Slowbro and is therefore not worth it in general. Hidden Power Fire may be used on each of Greninja’s sets in order to lure Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor, and pressure Corviknight harder than any other move. An all-out attacker set may be run alongside a Z-move, Life Orb, or Metronome. Such a set is highly customizable and has the potential to wallbreak a very large portion of the defensive metagame. However, forgoing Spikes is usually not very advisable on the long run. A Suicide Lead set, consisting of Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Taunt, and Ice Beam alongside a Focus Sash, may be run on hyper offensive teams seeking to fit Toxic Spikes. Such a set, however, does not fit on any other playstyle, and is usually outclassed by Mew.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Set-dependant Switch-ins**: Greninja has no guaranteed switch-ins due to its ridiculous movepool versatility. However, as it is limited to four moveslots, it can be countered or checked defensively if Greninja is not carrying the appropriate move or item, making proper scouting the key to check Greninja. Toxapex and Aegislash wall Greninja if it lacks Groundium Z, Extrasensory for the former, or Hidden Power Fire and Waterium Z for the latter; Chansey and Blissey can wall Greninja if it is not running Fightinium Z along with Low Kick; Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Corviknight are safe checks for those lacking Hidden Power Fire, and in Ferrothorn's case, Low Kick; Gastrodon, Slowbro, and Rotom-W will completely stop those lacking Grassium Z; Mega Venusaur fares well against all variants lacking Extrasensory; Clefable is always a reliable switchin for those lacking Gunk Shot or Waterium Z.

**Naturally Faster Pokemon and Priority**: Mega Lopunny, Dragapult, and Choice Scarf users such as Kartana and Cinderace, all outspeed non-Choice Scarf Greninja and threaten it with their STAB or coverage moves. In addition, priority users such as Mega Scizor, Mega Medicham, Mega Mawile, and Bisharp are also capable of taking out Greninja after some chip damage, depending on its typing.

  • Spikes is a great utility move due to Greninja’s tendency to force a lot of switches, as well as due to its ability to beat common Defog users in Tornadus-T, Tapu Fini and Rotom-W. It also weakens some of its common switch-ins for its teammates, such as Toxapex and Ferrothorn.
Here would probably be a prudent time to mention that all Protean Gren should be set to Male, as Ash-Gren can't be Female, so a Female Greninja tells you that it is Protean from Team Preview.
Usage Tips

  • Bluffing a Choice Scarf set can let you surprise opponents that think Greninja is Choice-locked with a super effective coverage move. I feel like you can combine the above two points...since bluffing scarf sets is a great way to lure the Water-types into a Bloom Doom.
  • Attempt to bring it in on predicted double switches or through VoltTurn support from who? Give examples, as Greninja's mediocre bulk means it struggles to come in even on resisted hits.

Set Description
========

  • Ice Beam is mandatory, in order to revenge kill the likes of Kartana, Dragapult and Hydreigon. It also OHKO’s the likes of Garchomp, Landorus-T and Gliscor.
  • Grass Knot is crucial for halting Mega Blastoise’s attempted sweep, OHKO’ing it after a Shell Smash. It also allows it to OHKO Mega Swampert, and pick off a slightly weakened Ash-Greninja.
  • U-turn is a great move to gain momentum on the Pokemon that Greninja naturally threatens, such as Tornadus-T and Heatran. In addition, it also enables it to threaten Mega Alakazam.
  • Rock Slide allows Greninja to revenge kill a dangerous setup sweeper in Volcarona. Additionally, it is also able to finish off a weakened Galarian Darmanitan and Gyarados.
  • Alternatively, Gunk Shot may be used in order to dent the likes of Tapu Fini, Assault Vest Tangrowth and Clefable, while also OHKO’ing Tapu Lele.
  • A Hasty nature is preferred over a Naive nature to take hits from Heatran slightly better while not hindering Greninja's damage output.
  • The given EV spread makes Greninja as fast as possible and allows it to always OHKO Dragapult with Ice Beam. Mention that if you invest 48 Attack EVs you always OHKO Gdarm after Stealth Rock.
Usage Tips
========

  • Choice Scarf Greninja is best used as a revenge killer of boosting Pokemon such as Mega Blastoise and Volcarona. While Greninja can't actually switch into any boosting Pokemon, it can revenge kill them with the appropriate coverage move.
  • Hard switching Greninja into attacks is not recommended, as it's very frail and gets worn down quite easily from entry hazards.
  • U-turn is often a solid move to use against the Pokemon that it naturally forces out, such as Landorus-T and Heatran, so use it often to gain momentum. Heatran sits on Scarf Gren once its set is revealed. Either reword this a bit or use a different example like Garchomp.
  • Use Gunk Shot and Ice Beam on targets such as Tangrowth and Tapu Fini, which usually check Greninja, and therefore might be lured in.

Team Options
========

  • Greninja can't do much to bulky Pokemon such as Chansey, Corviknight and Aegislash. Thus, strong wallbreakers that can advantage of the momentum and free switches that U-turn provides, such as Swords Dance Kartana, Nasty Plot Hydreigon, and Choice Band Galarian Darmanitan, can prove to be good teammates.
  • Pokemon such as Tangrowth and Ferrothorn that appreciate Greninja's ability to revenge kill setup sweepers also make for good teammates, as they're setup bait for Volcarona. Might be prudent to mention things that do poorly against MegaToise as well, because thats a major target for Gren.
  • Greninja also appreciates defensive Pokemon that can make up for its lackluster defenses, so Pokemon such as Tangrowth, Heatran, and Toxapex also make for good teammates.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Low Kick may be used alongside Fightinium Z to lure the likes of Chansey, Heatran and Mega Tyranitar. However, such a set is utterly walled by common metagame staples in Toxapex, Aegislash and Slowbro, and is therefore not worth it in general.
  • Hidden Power Fire may be used on each of Greninja’s sets in order to lure Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor. It also pushes more damage onto Corviknight. However, it has no other notable targets.
  • An all-out-attacker set may be run alongside a Life Orb or Metronome. An AoA set could still use Z-moves, so make sure to make that clear. Such a set is highly customizable and has the potential to wallbreak a very large portion of the defensive metagame. However, forgoing Spikes is usually not very advisable on the long run.
  • A Suicide Lead set, consisting of Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Taunt and Ice Beam alongside a Focus Sash, may be run on hyper offensive teams seeking to fit Toxic Spikes. Such a set, however, does not fit on any other playstyle, and is usually outclassed by Mew.
Mention Extrasensory for Toxapex and Mega Venusaur.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Set-dependant Switch-ins**: Greninja has no guaranteed switch-ins due to its ridiculous movepool versatility. However, as it is limited to four moveslots, it can be countered or checked defensively if Greninja is not carrying the appropriate move or item. Toxapex and Aegislash wall Greninja if it lacks Groundium Z, Extrasensory for the former, or Hidden Power Fire for the latter; Chansey can wall Greninja if it is not running Fightinium Z along with Low Kick; Ferrothorn, Mega Scozor and Corviknight are safe checks for those lacking Hidden Power Fire; Gastrodon, Slowbro and Rotom-W will completely stop those lacking Grassium Z; Clefable is always a reliable switchin for those lacking Gunk Shot. I get what you are saying about Clefable but if Clef switches into a Special Z-Move its in trouble, so "always" isn't probably the best word. Also mention that Mega Venusaur does quite well unless you are packing Extrasensory.

**Naturally Faster Pokemon**: Mega Alakazam, Mega Lopunny,, Dragapult, Ash-Greninja, and Choice Scarf users such as Galarian Darmanitan and Hydreigon, all outspeed non-Choice Scarf Greninja and threaten it with their STAB or coverage moves, depending on Greninja’s typing.

It also weakens some of its common switch-ins for its teammates, such as Toxapex and Ferrothorn. This might be a GP thing, but it sounds like Ferro/Pex are Greninja’s teammates and not the Pokemon being worn down by Spikes.
Usage Tips
========

  • Greninja's colorful coverage gives it the ability to threaten a substantial amount of the metagame. Use this to your advantage by attempting to weaken popular defensive cores consisting of Pokemon such as Heatran, Rotom-H, Tangrowth and Tapu Fini.
  • Aim to set up Spikes as soon as possible on forced switches to weaken Greninja's switch-ins, such as Ferrothorn and Toxapex, for teammates to take advantage of.
  • Attempt to lure Water-types such as Tapu Fini, Slowbro, Rotom-W and Gastrodon with Bloom Doom, in order to either keep Spikes up, pave the way for Greninja itself, or for a teammate. Mention bluffing Ash Greninja here to draw these mons in
  • Try to bring Greninja in through VoltTurn support or on predicted double switches, as Greninja's mediocre bulk means it struggles to come in even on resisted hits. Make this the first bullet
  • Bluffing a Choice Scarf set can let you surprise opponents that think Greninja is Choice-locked with a super effective coverage move, such as the aforementioned Water-types with Bloom Doom.
Team Options
========

  • Due to the fact that Greninja beats common Defoggers and forces plenty of switches, having a teammate to set up Stealth Rock is a very good idea in order to form a hazard-stacking core. Heatran, Mega Tyranitar and Clefable can all reliably set up Stealth Rock and fit on the balanced teams that Greninja resides in. Heatran is also notable for beating Corviknight, which this Greninja can struggle against since it avoids the 2HKO from Hydro at full. You may want to put this later on with the “can’t beat Corviknight” part.
  • Pokemon that benefit from the removal of defensive Water-types, such as Mega Metagross, Galarian Darmanitan and Specially Defensive Heatran, enjoy Greninja’s ability to pave the path for them by luring these Water-types. More offensive Heatran variants are less common with Greninja or will pack a Z-Move to crack open Water-types themselves.
  • Pokemon that can exert a lot of offensive pressure and appreciate Spikes support, such as Mega Alakazam and the aforementioned Mega Metagross, make for excellent partners. Mega Lopunny also appreciates it since it weakens offensive and defensive answers alike.
  • Toxapex walls this set with ease, so having a strong means of pressuring it with the likes of Mega Alakazam, Tapu Lele and Gliscor, is helpful. In addition, this set fails to keep Spikes up against Corviknight. Therefore, pairing Greninja with the likes of Heatran, Magnezone and Rotom-H, is also very prudent.

Reorder this to Pex>Tran, then say severely weaken MMeta, Aegislash and Mega Tyranitar cause they dont get OHKOed until after a layer of Spikes (with TTar being able to survive even after Spikes, so you may want to remove it but idk).
  • Gunk Shot is useful for hitting common Grass- and Fairy-types attempting to pivot into Greninja such as Tangrowth and Clefable. It also allows it to pressure a common defoggers in Tapu Fini. I think mentioning its poison chance makes it a good move to spam if they have Slowbro for example.
  • Ice Beam is important in order to invalidate Ground- and Dragon-types as switch-ins, notable examples being Garchomp, Gliscor, and Hydreigon. In addition, it also pressures prominent defoggers in Tornadus-T and Zapdos.
  • Spikes is an excellent tool to punish switches, which Greninja tends to force a lot. Greninja is a particularly good user of the move, due to its ability to beat common Defog users in Tornadus-T and Tapu Fini. It also weakens some of its common switch-ins for its teammates, such as Slowbro and Ferrothorn.
  • A Hasty nature is preferred over a Naive nature to take hits from Heatran slightly better while not hindering Greninja's damage output.
Usage Tips
========

  • Greninja is able to hit a vast amount of the metagame for good amounts of damage. Harness this in order to weaken popular defensive cores consisting of Pokemon such as Heatran, Toxapex, Tangrowth and Tapu Fini.
  • Aim to set up Spikes as soon as possible on forced switches to weaken Greninja's switch-ins, such as Ferrothorn and Slowbro, for teammates to take advantage of.
  • Attempt to lure the likes of Toxapex, Aegislash and Heatran with Tectonic Rage, in order to either pave the way for Greninja itself, or for a teammate.
  • Bluffing a Choice Scarf set can let you surprise opponents that think Greninja is Choice-locked with a super effective coverage move, such as the aforementioned targets with Tectonic Rage.
  • Attempt to bring it in on predicted double switches or through VoltTurn support as Greninja's mediocre bulk means it struggles to come in even on resisted hits. Again, first bullet

Team Options
========

  • Greninja beats common Defoggers in Tornadus-T and Tapu Fini, and forces a lot of switches. Therefore, having a teammate to set up Stealth Rock is very advisable in order to form a hazard-stacking core. Heatran, Mega Tyranitar and Clefable can all reliably set up Stealth Rock and fit on the balanced teams that Greninja resides in.
  • Pokemon that benefit from the removal of the likes of Toxapex, Aegislash and Heatran, such as Stealth Rock Mega Metagross, Magearna and Tornadus-T, enjoy Greninja’s ability to pave the path for them by luring these.
  • Pokemon that can exert a lot of offensive pressure and appreciate Spikes support, such as Mega Alakazam and the aforementioned Mega Metagross, make for excellent partners. Mention MLop again
  • Ferrothorn, Slowbro and Corviknight wall this set with ease, so having a strong means of pressuring these with the likes of Mega Alakazam, Heatran, and Magnezone, is helpful. Switch Tran and MZam around, reason being Mzam doesnt weaken Corviknight enough imo while Heatran does decent chunks to all three with Fire STAB and Toxic.
  • Rotom-H, Tornadus-T, and Galarian Darmanitan can all pivot Greninja in safely, with Rotom-H luring in Mega Tyranitar, Tornadus-T luring in Toxapex and Heatran, and Galarian Darmanitan luring in Toxapex and Tapu Fini, all of which Greninja can take advantage of.

Set Description
========

  • Ice Beam is mandatory in order to revenge kill the likes of Kartana, Dragapult, and Hydreigon. It also OHKO’s the likes of Garchomp, Landorus-T and Gliscor.
  • Grass Knot is crucial for halting Mega Blastoise’s attempted sweep, OHKO’ing it after Shell Smash.
  • The given EV spread makes Greninja as fast as possible and allows it to always OHKO Kartana with Ice Beam. The rest of the EVs are allocated to Attack in order to power up U-turn, which Greninja will be using most often.
Usage Tips
========

  • Choice Scarf Greninja is best used as a revenge killer of boosting Pokemon such as Mega Blastoise and Volcarona.
  • Hard switching Greninja into attacks is not recommended, as its bulk is quite mediocre. Therefore, attempt to either revenge kill threats after sacrificing a Pokemon, or by hard switching into a setup move.
  • U-turn must be used liberally against the Pokemon that it naturally forces out, such as Landorus-T and Garchomp, in order to gain momentum on Greninja's switch-ins. Mention it might be dangerous to lock into a move that isnt U-turn because Greninja’s pretty weak and loses momentum that isnt U-turn.
  • Attempt to lure the likes of Tapu Fini and Tangrowth with Gunk Shot and Ice Beam, as they might be lured in once the opponent has deduced Greninja's set.

Team Options
========

  • Greninja fails to do anything notable to bulky Pokemon such as Chansey, Corviknight and Aegislash. Thus, strong wallbreakers such as Swords Dance Kartana, Nasty Plot Hydreigon, and Choice Band Galarian Darmanitan, can prove to be good teammates. Moreover, Greninja can aid in bringing these threats in with U-turn. It can also form a VoltTurn core with GDarm.
  • Greninja appreciates a good defensive backbone it can fall back on once it has revenge killed something, as it tends to give free switchins to dangerous Pokemon such as Mega Metagross and Rotom-H once it has locked into a move. Therefore, Pokemon such as Tangrowth, Heatran, and Toxapex also make for good teammates. Moreover, Pokemon such as Tangrowth and Ferrothorn appreciate Greninja's ability to revenge kill Volcarona, as they're setup bait for it. In a similar vein, the likes of Slowbro and Heatran appreciate Greninja revenge killing Mega Blastoise.
QC decided to move Scarf to OO.

Other Options
=============

  • Low Kick may be used alongside Fightinium Z to lure the likes of Chansey, Heatran and Mega Tyranitar. However, such a set is utterly walled by common metagame staples in Toxapex, Aegislash and Slowbro, and is therefore not worth it in general.
  • Hidden Power Fire may be used on each of Greninja’s sets in order to lure Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor, and pressure Corviknight harder than any other move. However, it has no other notable targets.
  • An all-out-attacker set may be run alongside a Z-move, Life Orb or Metronome.
I think HP Fire should be over TSpikes since it pressures Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn, which can be annoying to these teams, and HO doesn’t really need a Toxic Spikes setter too.
  • Waterium Z should 100% be a first bullet to pressure namely Corviknight and Clefable, its something I would consider using before any of this. Also, its mentioned in C&C so it has to be viable to some extent.
  • Again, mention Scarf here
Checks and Counters
===================

**Set-dependant Switch-ins**: Greninja has no guaranteed switch-ins due to its ridiculous movepool versatility. However, as it is limited to four moveslots, it can be countered or checked defensively if Greninja is not carrying the appropriate move or item. Toxapex and Aegislash wall Greninja if it lacks Groundium Z, Extrasensory for the former, or Hidden Power Fire for the latter; Chansey can wall Greninja if it is not running Fightinium Z along with Low Kick; Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor and Corviknight are safe checks for those lacking Hidden Power Fire, and in Ferrothorn's case, Low Kick; Gastrodon, Slowbro and Rotom-W will completely stop those lacking Grassium Z; Mega Venusaur fares well against all variants lacking Extrasensory; Clefable is always a reliable switchin for those lacking Gunk Shot or Waterium Z.

**Naturally Faster Pokemon**: Mega Alakazam, Mega Lopunny, Dragapult, Ash-Greninja, and Choice Scarf users such as Galarian Darmanitan and Hydreigon, all outspeed non-Choice Scarf Greninja and threaten it with their STAB or coverage moves.

Priority is also worth a mention here
