name: Bulk Up
move 1: Bulk Up
move 2: Drain Punch
move 3: Brutal Swing
move 4: Sucker Punch
item: Leftovers
ability: Technician
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 HP / 84 Atk / 160 Def / 12 SpD
[SET COMMENTS]
Due to its ability to boost its stats with Bulk Up as well as its access to semi-reliable recovery in Drain Punch, Grapploct can function as a solid wincon on balance teams while also being able to check physical attackers such as Morpeko. Brutal Swing allows Grapploct to hit Psychic- and Ghost-types such as Musharna and Gourgeist, whereas Sucker Punch gives it the ability to hit faster Pokemon such as Boltund as well as deal with offensive teams in general. The given HP and Defense investment lets Grapploct avoid the 2HKO from Life Orb Drednaw's Liquidation after Stealth Rock, while the Special Defense EVs let it take Modest Choice Specs Glaceon's Ice Beam after Stealth Rock.
Psychic-types such as Mr. Rime, Beheeyem, and Galarian Rapidash can handle Poison-types like Mareanie for Grapploct, while they in turn appreciate Grapploct's ability to handle Dark-types like Morpeko. Morpeko in turn aids Grapploct in dealing with Ghost- and Psychic-types, which Grapploct can struggle against while Beheeyem can provide slow momentum for Grapploct with Teleport. Entry hazard support from Pokemon such as Roselia and Stunfisk further aid Grapploct in wearing down foes. Fairy-types such as Galarian Rapidash and Shiinotic are difficult for Grapploct to deal with as well, so Pokemon such as Roselia, Drednaw, Mawile, and Pawniard makes for decent partners. Mawile and Pawniard also provides Knock Off support to weaken bulkier Pokemon such as Mareanie that can be problematic for Grapploct to handle. Healing Wish support from Pokemon such as Mr. Mime and Galarian Rapidash can provide Grapploct with a second chance to sweep.
