[OVERVIEW]

* Amazing 150/120/120 defensive stats make it one of the bulkiest Pokémon in the tier and almost impossible to OHKO
* Access to Roar and Dragon Tail allow Giratina to phase setup sweepers such as Arceus, Mega Salamance, and Xerneas
* Ghost typing means that it is one of the few stall-viable Pokémon that cannot be trapped by Mega Gengar
* Pressure makes Giratina-A a great PP staller
* Effective spin-blocker
* Mediocre 100/100/90 offensive stats cause it to have little offensive presence in comparison to the rest of the metagame
* Having no reliable recovery aside from RestTalk gives Giratina a bad case of 4MSS
* Faces stiff competition from its Origin form which has way more offensive prowness while still maintaining a lot of bulk at the cost of running Griseous Orb

[SET]

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Toxic is Giratina's main venue of damage output
* Roar phases setup sweepers even when they are behind a Substitute, and nothing is immune to it.
* Dragon Tail can be used to prevent Giratina from being Taunt bait, but its inaccuracy and ineffectiveness against common Fairy types such as Xerneas make it otherwise inferior to Roar.
* RestTalk is Giratina's only way to recover its HP. It also allows Giratina to take advantage of +0 phasing while asleep

Set Details
========

* Leftovers provides much-needed passive recovery
* Bold nature on top of maximum Defense investment boosts Giratina's Defense to high levels
* 248 HP EVs minimizes hazard damage while still maximizing Leftovers recovery
* Pressure is ran because it actually does something, unlike Telepathy

Usage Tips
========

* Giratina switches easily into physical attacks while at full HP
* Use Rest when it is worn down
* Avoid Fairy types whenever possible
* Phase dangerous Pokémon instead of using Toxic on them

Team Options
========

* Really only works on stall teams due to momentum loss
* Primal Groudon is extremely useful for Stealth Rock, as it makes Giratina able to wear down opposing teams through accumulating Stealth Rock damage.
* Wish users such as Blissey can reduce the need for Giratina to use Rest. Blissey also appreciates Giratina switching into physical attacks for it.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Hex can be ran, but Giratina-Origin is a much better choice for that with its higher Special Attack stat
* Defog can be ran, but Giratina really misses Stealth Rock support afterwards
* Calm Mind can be used, but Giratina's Special Attack is low enough where it will most likely take too long for it to get to anywhere threatening
* Pain Split can seem at first glance to be useful as recovery, but Giratina's high HP stat means that it will almost always lose HP upon usage
* A physical set involving Shadow Force and Shadow Sneak can be used, but Giratina-Origin runs that much better
* Destiny Bond can be used, but Giratina is too slow to use this effectively

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy Types**: Fairy types are immune to Dragon Tail, and can set up easily on variants not carrying Roar.
**Steel Types**: Steel types such as Dialga and Solgaleo are immune to Toxic, preventing Giratina from doing much at all to them other than phasing
**Taunt**: Taunt completely shuts Giratina down unless it is running Dragon Tail.
**Dragon Types**: Dragon Types such as Palkia, Zekrom, and Kyruem-White break easily through Giratina-Altered with Spacial Rend, Outrage, and Draco Meteor, respectively.
**Passive Damage**: Passive damage at the very least offsets Leftovers recovery, and keeps Giratina from keep its health up

I think this is ready for QC checking. It's a little lacking in Team Options so I could use some input on it. This is my first analysis so I'm really nervous....

QC Rejected 1/3

I realize this is your first analysis, but the overview, set, and EV spread all need major fixes. The overview doesn't communicate the reasons why teams rarely ever use Giratina-A and what its tiny niche could hope to achieve for a team. It doesn't really make sense to use Hex on this Pokemon: I see Giratina-O doing this better in pretty much any situation. Modest on this Pokemon is nonsensical, and how do you justify giving it an EV spread with 252 HP and equal invest in Def and SpD? Spreads for Pokemon aren't just arbitrary things: they're created around meeting very specific benchmarks or optimizing performance in a certain role. The provided EV spread does not accomplish this.

It just makes more sense to have someone who has a better sense of this Pokemon's shortcomings and potential to write this so that QC doesn't have to do all the work.

The information in here is pretty lacking in general and I shouldn't have to make a long ass post with details and thought provoking questions just to get the writer to add information/elaboration. There's a bunch of general statements without any additional information and it's just... really bare. Look around and absorb other analyses/skeletons and read through the articles in the main SM Analyses forum to better know what's expected during the C&C process in the future.
