cuttin it close this time
Name: Platini
Typing: Normal/Water
Ability: Simple/Unaware/Rain Dish (HA)
Base Stats: 50 / 52 / 47 / 65 / 58 / 43
(315)
Notable Moves: Endeavor, Quick Attack, Facade, Return, Fury Swipes, Round, Surf, Water Pulse, Water Gun, Mud Slap, Confusion, Rock Smash, Agility, Rapid Spin, other flavory stuff that LC has.
Height + Weight: 1.1 m, 10 kg
Flavour/Design: A small, round platypus. Rolls to get around.

Trainers young and old love this Pokémon due to its rather complacent nature. It doesn’t require much attention, but on some occasions, they wander off and get into trouble. This has created a saying, “it’s just a Platini, it doesn’t do much”
Potential Competitive Role: LC unaware wall idk anything about LC

Name: Psytypus
Typing: Psychic/Water
Ability: Simple/Psychic Surge/Rain Dish (HA)
Base Stats: 80 / 60 / 78/ 115 / 89 / 87 (509)
Notable Moves: Psychic, Future Sight, Light Screen, Reflect, Hydro Pump, Earth Power, Mystical Fire, Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, Discharge, Grass Knot, Ice Beam, Defog, Calm Mind
Height + Weight: 2.1 m, 40 kg
Evolution: Level 19
Flavour/Design: A psychic platypus that swims through the air with closed eyes, using psychic power to navigate.

These Pokémon, while very wise, often are oblivious to danger. Luckily, their psychic ability helps keep them out of trouble.
Potential Competitive Role: Special Sweeper, Psychic Terrain Setter

Name: Aquagent
Typing: Fighting/Water
Ability: Simple/Technician/Rain Dish (HA)
Base Stats: 75 / 112 / 70 / 72 / 65 / 115 (509)
Notable Moves: Close Combat, Liquidation, Wave Crash, Waterfall, Triple Axel, Crush Claw, Poison Jab, Earthquake, U-Turn, High Jump Kick, Bulk Up, Bullet Punch, Smart Strike
Height + Weight: 2.2 m, 45 kg
Evolution: Agent Fedora
Flavour/Design: A bipedal platypus that fights. Has a hair poof slightly resembling a fedora.

Officers of the law, secret agents, and vigilantes alike often have one of these Pokémon on their team. Strangely, this Pokémon isn’t known to be seen in the wild.
Potential Competitive Role: Physical/Mixed Sweeper

California is the only place with Platypi outside of Australia. Danville is in California, if you get the reference.

:Shellder:
Name: Desvegan Shellder
Typing: Normal/Ghost
Ability: Shell Armor/Skill Link/Overcoat (HA)
Base Stats: 30 / 65 / 100 / 45 / 25 / 40
Notable Moves: Endure, Headbutt, Lock On, Mimic, Recycle, Sharpen, Skull Bash, Swift, Destiny Bond, Shadow Sneak, Spite, Lick, Rapid Spin, Spikes, Shadow Box
Shadow Box: 25 dg | 100 acc | 20 pp | Physical | Ghost | Hits 2-5 times | Contact
Height + Weight: Same as Shellder
Flavour/Design: Shellder living in a cardboard box.

These Pokémon are often seen littering the streets of cities. They will hide wherever they can fit and leap out to lick unsuspecting trainers. This has given them a bad reputation, when in reality, they are only searching for a friend.
Potential Competitive Role: LC hazard thing

Name: Packrage
Typing: Normal/Ghost
Ability: Shell Armor/Skill Link/Overcoat
Base Stats: 50 / 105 / 140 / 105 / 65 / 60
Notable Moves: Shelter, Body Press, Shadow Claw, Poltergeist, Explosion, Shell Smash, Toxic Spikes, Double Edge, Facade, Drill Run, Ice Spinner, Razor Shell, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Rock Blast, Pin Missile, Poison Jab, Teleport, U-Turn, Shadow Box
Height + Weight: 2 m, 110 kg
Flavour/Design: A large cardboard box with Cloyster’s face inside. Has protruding shadowy spikes and large arms made of cardboard.

These Pokémon are widely feared due to rumors of them dragging souls to the afterlife. Scientists believe the rumors are false, but have yet to conduct any studies.
Potential Competitive Role: Shell Smasher, Defensive Pivot?

Name: Caroot (Carrot + Root)
Typing:
1688605270995.png
1688605282860.png

Abilities:
Early Bird / Flame Body / Natural Cure (HA)
Base Stats: 35 / 66 / 50 / 66 / 33 / 30 | 280
Notable Moves: Seed Bomb, Bullet Seed, Flame Charge, Solar Beam, Energy Ball, Giga Drain, Flamethrower, Earth Power, Leech Seed, Synthesis, Will-O-Wisp, Sunny Day
Height + Weight: 0.18 m, 1.3 kg
Flavor/Design: A red carrot with a flaming fuse attached to it, resembling a missile! There’s two orange eyes on the carrot and a scary mouth.
Potential Competitive Role: LC but stats are probably too low for it.

Name: TBD
Typing:
1688605270995.png
1688605282860.png

Abilities:
Fast Firing / Flame Body / Bulletproof (HA)
Base Stats: 50 / 88 / 75 / 88 / 48 / 45 | 395
Notable Moves: Caroot’s movepool + Explosive Carrots, Rock Blast, Pin Missile, Fire Blast, Focus Blast, Sludge Bomb, Spikes
Height + Weight: 0.66 m, 20.4 kg
New Features:
Fast Firing: The user’s speed is doubled when using bullet moves.
Explosive Carrots: Type: Fire / 25 BP / 15 PP / Accuracy: 100% / Category: Physical / Explanation: Hits 2-5 times.
Flavor/Design: A solider made out of pure dirt, and a carrot tip on top of its head! It also carries a green “gun” that shoots out fiery explosive carrots.
Potential Competitive Role: A pretty solid NFE offensive threat with good attacking stats and a fantastic ability in Fast Firing that makes up for its poor speed. It has access to a lot of bullet moves in STAB Bullet Seed, Seed Bomb, Explosive Carrots. While it doesn’t have any Fire-type special bullet moves, it can go mixed with Energy Ball and Focus Blast.

Name: Carrotillery (Carrot + Artillery)
Typing:
1688605270995.png
1688605282860.png

Abilities:
Fast Firing / Flame Body / Bulletproof (HA)
Base Stats: 67 / 113 / 100 / 113 / 62 / 60 | 515
Notable Moves: TBD’s movepool + Overheat
Height + Weight: 1.46 m, 61.3 kg
Flavor/Design: A giant dirt warrior with a machine “turret” carrying several explosive carrots.
Potential Competitive Role: Very solid wallbreaker and speed control option with Fast Firing that works well with Loaded Dice Explosive Carrots and Bullet Seed. It has nice coverage in Rock Blast and Focus Blast, making it hard to wall. Not much can outspeed it with a speed-boosting nature. However, its poor bulk and weakness to entry hazards hold it back. Anything that can take its attacks is highly likely to be able to KO it. Should be viable in OU.

Name: Silismart (silicon, as in Silicon Valley + smart, a prefix used to denote smart products, as in smartphone and smartwatch)
Typing:
Electric.png
Steel.png

Ability: Trace / Heatproof
Base Stats: 56 / 57 / 103 / 121 / 103 / 80 (520)
Notable Moves: Chilling Water, Defog, Discharge, Flash Cannon, Overheat, Steel Beam, Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch
Height + Weight: 0.2m
Flavour/Design: It's a smartphone or smth, found primarily in urban areas. Residing in California is Silicon Valley, the face of NA's tech industry, so a smart device mon felt appropriate.
Potential Competitive Role: Special Scarfer with good defensive utility, think Rotom formes and Heatran. Trace could have interesting applications depending on future meta additions.

Grubbub (Grub + Hubbub)
Typing:

Abilities: Swarm, Stakeout, Shield Dust
Stats: 45 | 60 | 40 | 30 | 40 | 65 [BST= 280]
Height / Weight: 0.2m / 3.2kg
Competitive Role: Base stats are lacking, but it could be carried by Stakeout and its good movepool to be viable in LC

Weevilain (Weevil + Villain)
Typing:
Bug.png
Dark.png

Abilities: Technician, Stakeout, Magic Guard

Stats: 75 | 92 | 70 | 50 | 73 | 100 [BST= 460]
Notable Moves: Beat Up, Body Slam, Bug Bite, Elemental Punches, First Impression, Knock Off, Nasty Plot, Night Slash, Parting Shot, Spikes, Sticky Web, Sucker Punch, Taunt, U-turn
Height / Weight: 1.0m / 11.9kg
Competitive Role: A more utility-focused version of Lokix that has every STAB move it needs - fimp, knock, sucker punch, u-turn, etc. Also has great support in sticky web and parting shot. Stakeout is good for patching up the lacking attack stats, but Magic Guard is even better for pure utility sets

Flavor: Grayscale bugs based on stereotypical villain characters from film - Grubbub is a bowler hat-wearing mob hooligan, while Weevilain is a mustache-twirling western baddie. Designs could draw inspiration on these beta bug designs from RBY. Also here's a Weevil for reference, they're funny guys
Evolution Tree: Grubbub -(Level 23)> Weevilain

Chaparrone (Chaparral bird (roadrunner) + Chaperone)
Typing:
Flying.png

Abilities: Ripen, Gale Wings, Regenerator
Stats: 70 | 70 | 30 | 58 | 30 | 92 [BST = 350]
Height/Weight: 0.5m / 8.8kg
Competitive Role: LC, idk how well it would do

Dinarrone (Diner + Dino + Chaparral + Chaperone)
Typing:
Ground.png
Flying.png

Abilities
: Ripen, Gale Wings, Regenerator
Stats: 110 | 93 | 45 | 77 | 45 | 120 [BST= 490]
Height/Weight: 1.5m / 57.9kg
Notable Moves: Acrobatics, Axe Kick, Brick Break, Defog, Drill Peck, Dual Wingbeat, Earth Power, Earthquake, Rapid Spin, Roost, U-turn, Wish
Competitive Role: Because most of its bulk is held by its HP, Dinarrone performs surprisingly well as a wish passer in addition to a fast support mon. You're probably running Regenerator like 90% of the time, but the other abilities have their perks: Ripen has some funny applications with STAB Acrobatics, and Gale Wings can help ensure a defog.

Flavor: Time for a fakemon line based on the greatest natural wonder of the United States... fast food! More specifically, I got the idea from the famous fast food chains that are only in the Southwest which Desvega takes inspiration from, such as In-N-Out and Whataburger. Chaparrone is more of a generic roadrunner fakemon, whereas Dinarrone becomes more raptor-like and designed to resemble a fast food worker, such as the feather crest resembing a cap and feather flaps on the arms which make it look like it's carrying lunch bags.
Evolution Tree: Chaparrone -(Level up while knowing a recovery move, e.g. Roost)> Dinarrone
We already have a winner submission based the Chaparral bird / Roadrunner. I’d advice to read the spreadsheet (found in the OP) before submitting anything.

Voting phase is now open!

You may vote up to five submissions, with the counterparts counting as one vote. You may not self-vote if you haven’t vote for at least two other submissions, and only one self-vote per user. Order does not matter. Do not vote for incomplete submissions.

Top Three submissions (with up to two submissions per tied place) in terms of receiving vote will win!

Example:
User A’s Pokémon line 1
User B’s Pokémon 3
User D’s Pokémon Counterparts
User C’s Cross-Gen Pre-Evolution
User I’s Pokémon line 2 (SV)

The voting will last for 48 hours as always.

Voting phase’s over! Usually, we go for the top three as the winners with up to two tied in each place…

But because I’m a generous dude - alongside the slightly unfocused votes so consider it a pragmatic moment- I will allow the three tied first most voted submissions as winners, alongside the two second place submissions. Those are…

First place belongs to the Sneek line by yours truly, the Desvegan Elgyem line by Ayecrusher King and Desvegan Varoom line by flareth13, as well as the Hierrazona + Tejautlaw duo by Revenge of Depressed Gay!

Second place are the Desvegan Sableye line by anaconja and also the Hotrolly line by Dilasc!

There is a lot of third place submissions with only two votes each. Because of that, a tiebreaker vote will occur between them. The following are those in italic in the vote tally;
  • my Seeppy line
  • Beebos’ Grubbub line
  • flareth13’s Lediund
  • Emergence‘s Junipage line
  • Sigilyph Bro’s Platini line
  • and Anaconja’s Ratium line
Samtendo09's Sneek/Snychalic line 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4
Brown4Sides' Kidtrus/Orounge/Citrunk line 1
Samtendo09's Seeppy/Poppely line 1 + 1 = 2
Beebos's Grubbub/Weevilain line 1 + 1 = 2

Ayecrusher King's Elgyem-Desvega Line 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4
flareth13's Lediund 1 + 1 = 2
Glubbfubb's Gemenecho 1
Dilasc's Hotrolly Line 1 + 1 + 1 = 3
Emergence's Junipage/Salviage/Eversage line 1 + 1 = 2
Flareth13's Varoom-Desvega/Revaroom-Desvega line 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4
anaconja's Sableye-Desvegan/Aurumine line 1 + 1 + 1 = 3

Sigilyph Bro’s Platini line 1 + 1 = 2
Tanny89k Silismart 1
Anaconja's Ratium line 1 + 1 = 2
RoDG's Hierrazona/Tejautlaw 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4
Glubbfubb's Locayote 1
Ayecrusher King’s Desertoise 1
RoDG’s Desvegan Gimmighoul line 1
Tiebreaker Rules
  • Vote for one tiebreaker submissions.
  • No self-voting.
  • Only first place of the tiebreaker will win; if there’s two for the new tie, that’s okay. If there’s three or more for first place, though, then another 24h tiebreaker (called Emergency Tiebreaker) will occur, allowing those who already voted in the tie breaker to vote again; only up to two to win in that Emergency Tiebreaker round.
I will also announce the results of the Desvega’s Move Distribution form.
In other words…
  • Heal Order will have a moderate increase of distribution beyond Vespiquen. It will be strictly given to Bug-type.
  • Rapid Spin and Chilly Reception will see their distribution increased, but due to a very close gap between Yes and No, the distribution increase will be small.
  • Mortal Spin will see increased distribution, but almost exclusively to Poison-type Pokémon.
  • Conversively, Toxic will see decreased distribution like back in Loria, almost exclusively to Poison-type Pokémon.
  • Sticky Web will not see any increased distribution; it can still be given to new submissions, but I advice to be delicate with the move.
  • And finally, Accelerock will most likely see a very generous increase of distribution due to unanimous for “yes” among users who answered the question. Quoth flareth; “Rock-type Pokémon needs all the help they can get.” And worry not, Midnight Lycanroc would also get the move for consistency between the other two time-based forms.
We will enter discussion phase, talking about the winning submissions. You may tiebreak vote in advance as well.

I avoided giving them to currently OU Pokémon (or viable NatDex mons) that don’t already have any of these moves. The distribtuion are not intended to make the receivers (or those who keep Toxic) OU-viable, but rather additional tools they het in the tier they will decided in.

Now for the next slate!

Slate 6 - The Cave Dwellers and a Pika-Wannabe
:sv/zubat::sv/boldore::sv/mawile::sv/morpeko:

Two iconic aspects of the franchise!

Back in the old days, the caves were maligned, partially due to overabundance of Zubat. However, they nonetheless have an interesting selection of Pokémon living in these dark caves, or the underground in some cases. It’ll take more than the power of friendship to get through these unwelcoming places! And hope you got Repels stocked or don’t encounter too much of the same Pokémon to the point of sanity-detoriating rage. Fret not, as usually, there are super useful Pokémon, especially Steel-type Pokémon, that tend to be found in there.

An unrelated but nonetheless fascinating is an Electric Rodent, aka Pika-Clone. These Pikachu wannabes, while popular with cute-loving fans (and Dedenne is a massive fan favorite in the Asian countries), almost none were ideal as permanent members for casual playthroughs, less so online plays and competitive scenes. Not helping that they were assumed to be shameless attemptss to recapture Pikachu’s success to a variety of degree - only Dedenne managed to dethrone it in Asian countries.

Either way, most were single-stages, though there were a pair of them in the form of Plusle and Minun, and Pawmi broke the streak by being an evolution line just like how Pikachu isn’t single-stage, but in fact have an evolution line of it’s own.

Cave Pokémon Rules
- This slate is kind of a free slate, but any flavor you make for you submissions must be cave-related. You can still be quite flexible with this (ex: Joltik living in Chargestone Cave), but make sure to address it.
- You may sub up to 4 unique evolutionary lines of cave Pokemon. These lines can include split evolutions.
- There is no hard BST limit for this slate, though you should stay reasonable unless you have a good flavor justification like Slaking.
- As for what's typical for a standard Pokémon, final evolutions tend to peak around the 520-530 range, sometimes going into the 540s for stuff like cross gen evolutions or Gyarados. Florges and Arcanine are the only two non-flavor exceptions to this, being over 550, with the others (Slaking and Archeops) having flavor reasons. Standalone Pokémon tend to stay below 500, especially for early-to-midgame mons, though there are a lot of exceptions for later game mons like Duraludon or Dhelmise.
- Pokémon that live in caves are usually Rock, Ground, Steel, or Fighting-type, but you can be flexible with it (ex: Bat Pokémon that live in caves have been Poison, Psychic, and Dragon and all of them are Flying).
- You can sub regional forms for this slate.

Electric Rodent Rules
- You may sub up to 1 Electric Rodent evolutionary line. Be sure to clearly mark which one of your subs is your Electric Rodent or else that sub will be considered a Cave Pokémon sub.
- The above rule can be broken if you wish to sub a set of 2 Pokémon as counterparts, a la Plusle & Minun
- The Pokémon's primary type must be Electric.
- Pikachu clones are typically single-stage Pokémon, so if your sub is a single-stage Pokémon, it must have a BST between 405 and 435.
- However, I will allow you to create a 2 or 3-stage evolutionary line for this category to mimic Pichu and Raichu, or the Pawmi line. If you wish to do that, the final evolution must have a BST less than or equal to 490.
- You can sub regional forms of other Pikaclones for this category, but do keep in mind that no Pikaclone has been a regional form.
- Convergent Pokémon for this category isn’t allowed since the Pikaclones are already similar Pikachu.
- You cannot give an evolution or pre-evolution to pre-established Pikaclones; those can be done in later slates where it would thematically fit (or in free slates), and this rule is to allow the new Pikaclone to (try to) stand out. What you can give is a new-stage evolution of a regional form of a Pikaclone.

The submission phase will lasts for six (6) days, with an extra day if people wanted an extension. The tiebreaker will also continues for two or three days depending on the amount of tiebreaker votes made.
