Hello everyone. I tried to have a go at stall in gen 5. The game has been becoming more and more agressive but I'm a defensive player. The change of how special and physical moves are defined and Pokemon receiving better and better stats have led to this. I started competitive battling back when Ruby and Saphire came out, and anyone who's played gen 3 knows how stallish that meta was. So far however, I've had decent results with this team.
@ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 80 SDef / 8 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake
A pretty safe lead that I sometimes switch out for Ferrothorn or maybe even Scizor, depending on the enemy's setup. It sets up rocks, walls stuff and dents wherever it can.
SR/Wall
Ice -> Scizor, Jellicent, Heatran
Grass ->Scizor, Heatran, Latias, Ferrothorn
Water -> Latias, Jellicent, Ferrothorn
@ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 228 Def / 16 SDef / 12 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Wish
- Roar
- Protect
- Draco Meteor
This is the one Pokemon on the team I'm not too sure about, but for now it's been working. The main reasons for having her are Wish support and excellent typing. At first I ran Toxic instead of Roar, but when I realized Latias draws in steels I decided to turn her into a shuffler instead. Draco Meteor because a 140BP stab hurts coming from 260 SpA.
Support/Wall/Shuffler
Ice -> Scizor, Jellicent, Heatran
Dragon, Dark, Ghost -> Scizor, Ferrothorn, Heatran
Bug -> Scizor, Heatran, Jellicent
@ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Pursuit
- Superpower
Old but still good. The teams main source of damage whilst scouting, Pursuit-trapping and revenge-killing.
Revenge-killer/Sweeper
Fire -> Heatran, Jellicent, Latias
@ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Def / 144 SDef / 16 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Scald
- Recover
- Shadow Ball
- Toxic
Works infamously well with Ferrothorn. Scald for stab and burn andToxic for breaking walls. Also my spinblocker. Shadow Ball > Night Shade to catch Starmie off guard, as well as others if the opportunity arises.
Wall/Spinblocker/Status-inducer
Ghost, Dark -> Ferrothorn, Heatran, Scizor
Grass -> Ferrothorn, Heatran, Scizor, Latias
Electric -> Hippowdon, Ferrothorn, Latias
@ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
Spikes whenever possible so I can my shuffling going. Leech Seed for causing switches as well as keeping my HP up. Gyro Ball and Power Whip provide damage when it's needed. I might use TWave somewhere on this guy but I'm not sure.
Spiker/Wall/Shuffler
Fighting -> Latias, Jellicent
Fire -> Latias, Jellicent, Heatran
@ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 244 HP / 36 SAtk / 12 SDef / 216 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Torment
- Substitute
- Protect
- Lava Plume
Torment-ran. When all the spikes are up, and its potential counter is down, this guy wrecks. Lava Plume in combination with Jellicent's Scald burns half of a team easily. The only problem is getting it set up, and my lack of ground coverage.
Staller/Annoyer
Fighting -> Latias, Jellicent
Ground -> Latias
Water -> Latias, Jellicent, Ferrothorn
Notable problems at first sight:
-Lack of ground coverage
-Lack of fighting coverage
-Hippowdon's typing and role seems kind of lost, but then again he brings the sand.
-Tormentran has a hard time getting in without Balloon, but needs lefties.
-Latias might not be the best option
