Gen 1 Showdown Calculator showing the wrong stats.

The Pidgey I caught in the game has way weaker stats than the weakest DV Pidgey I can find in the calculator with the same lvl.
I caught one and have it lvl 12, but it has stats compared to a lvl 8 on the calc. Why does the calc make it stronger?

If you're using the Pokemon Damage Calculator then keep in mind that it assumes max Stat EXP (gens 1-2 equivalent of EVs) for all pokemon. If you just caught the pidgey, it will have no stat EXP so it will appear weaker than the one in the calc.

This is a better way to calculate DVs. If you just caught the pokemon, input "0" for each EV value.
