Analysis:
Garganacl is an interesting addition to the roster for a few different reasons. It has stats that make it a viable opening pick to set up Stealth Rock and not die in the process. The overall bulk of Garganacl means that it gets to sit in front of the opponent and stall out screens, Trick Room, terrain, and certain weathers. In the case of Trick Room, Garganacl is a very solid pick to use for doing big damage to common picks such as Kingambit, Azumaril, and possibly flinching the faster Pokemon that get stuck in the Trick Room with it.

Salt Cure is an interesting move that does 1/8 health chip damage to all Pokemon, but what makes this different from moves like Fire Spin and Sand Tomb is that in exchange for not trapping the opponent, it does double chip damage to Steel and Water types, which tend to give Garganacl problems otherwise. Its access to Clear Body prevents the pesky Intimidate that might show up from the likes of Salamence, Gyarados, and Tauros-P-Water. Its signature ability Purifying Salt prevents the burns that might hinder its damage output, and Sturdy is, well, Sturdy.

Possible Set:
Garganacl @ Leftovers / Room Service
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spe)
Tera Type: Fighting
IVs: 0 Spe
- Body Press
- Stealth Rock
- Curse
- Rock Slide

While you might want to save your Terastalization for other Pokemon, changing Garganacl's type to Fighting might come in handy when it stares down the barrel of big special Grass and Water types like Rotom-M, Vaporeon, Arboliva and Toedscruel
