Alright, let's get this staright. I am sick of being without Garchomp, and I am sure that quite a few agree with me. OU just isn't the same without him. If you do go to Smogon and look at Garchomp, you'll see an abundance of counters at the bottom of his counter page.
What really makes me angry is that people are just fine without him. Some of the people that want him gone are the people that curse and moan when they lose to him. Some just call him "broken."

How about we open this up a little, shall we?
Broken- Let's try and define this. Apparantly, in the current metagame, broken means so overused that it's not funny. Yachechomp, etc. How about we open up a Salamence along with Garchomp?

Salamence runs either the DD set or the Specsmence most of the time.
Garchomp runs the CBset or the Yacheset every time.

Salamence gets a STAB specced Draco meteor, backed up by his nice special attack stat.
Garchomp gets STAB Outrage.

Not too many differences between them, besides the easily outrun 333 speed that Garchomp as opposed to Salamence's 328. Oh one more thing...Garchomp usually doesn't get OHKO'd by Ice moves with a Yache berry.
If i'm not mistaken, you need a special stat of 269 or higher to OHKO him with a Yache berry. That's honestly not that hard to get.
Another minor nitpick...Sandveil. So many pokemon get it, who cares if Chomp gets it? woo, 20% extra to dodge moves. Salamence gets levitate! He can't be touched by ground moves!

To get down to the point; Garchomp is just like any plain old OU pokemon. Sure he gets "sand veil" and Outrage, sure he carries Yache so he can set up an SD, but CMcune and Salamence, just because they're good, does that mean that they deserve to be banned?
Who are you going to take from me next? My specsmence, or my CMrachi? I hate to go to official server to test teams and play, as the community is great, but it seems I have no choice if one of the stars from my team is jailed.

EDIT: Ugh whatever..I give up...
 
Didn't we just decide today that Garchomp is banned to Ubers? I really don't see any point with this thread in trying to argue Garchomp back into OU as he's banned as of now.
 
Maybe you should just get over it =/, instead of being selfish, a lot of people's chomp based teams were ruined
 
He's not, that's who drew this. My point here is that what if another OU pokemon is blessed with an amazing ev spread, not amazing enough for ubers, but good enough to become a potent threat. people will obviously complain and complain until it goes to Ubers, where it won't even be able to stand up to anything.

EDIT: I don't see how people don't agree with me at all. Of course they're just going to laugh at it, but whatever. Obviously you guys aren't looking into the future.
 
darkartisan, if this is such a big deal to you then why didn't you put in a little bit of effort and qualify for voting? Why? Because it's much easier to sit on your arse and write a ridiculous argument that can be trimmed down to "I'm struggling to win without Garchomp."

Garchomp is uber and that isn't changing anytime soon. Get used to it.

EDIT: I really didn't have enough time, I'm in high school, some of you are probably in college. I have tests and whatnot...i'm in a travel soccer team, i'm in clubs. I just don't see the point of banning Garchomp. It's pointless. Besdies, the voting went something like 40-10, 35-15. My vote wouldn't have done anything anyways.

Garchomp is actually usable in ubers, especially with Choice band.

Also that picture made me laugh for some reason.

How don't you see the whole point of Garchomp being banned to ubers? There's probably a whole bunch of discussions somewhere on this site in many places where you can read the previous arguments that have already been settled.

I actually loled at this. What is amazing about Garchomp's EV spread? Look at it: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
It's a generic physical sweeper EV spread that so many pokemon use.

Uber isn't supposed to be a balanced tier so I don't see your point. It has been proven that Garchomp does just fine in ubers though.
If you had bothered to read the countless discussions that were had about this issue maybe then you could have a better understanding of why all this happened.

Not to people that run Ice beam on every mewtwo, mew, etc. I know quite a bit, not enough to be like Skiddle or any mods, but enough to realize that Garchomp doesn't deserve Ubers.
 
Go play Ubers if you want to use Garchomp, and Garchomp is somewhat useable in Ubers due to it being the fastest dragon there and it geing able to outspeed and OHKO Heatran, Palkia, Dialga, Metagross, Rayquaza, Taranitar, and Ho-Oh with Choice Banded Dragon Claw, Earthquake, and Stone Edge.

Edit: I really can't wait to go to college now.
 
This thread is an excellent allegory to the disease that is plaguing our metagame. I applaud you, darkartisan, for making such a splendid thread that shows us exactly what we are doing wrong.

This statement obviously represents the following fact - that change for the sake of change must be limited. In the meanwhile, it also represents our longing for something familiar - something we are comfortable, and that home that we all long for - the home called "OU".

This statement represents all that is wrong within our capitalistic society. That there are others better than us, and they make the rules that we, the peasants, need to abide by. It is a deep remark that reflects upon the truth that is socialism.

Truer words have never been said. Instead of breaking ourselves to the laws, some people are more comfortable calling those rules "broken". Indeed it shows that we as human have difficulty breaking ourselves and show that we have indeed become like god - unbending our will to the circumstances and judging from our armseats.

This statement represents the allusion of "truth". We all see things, and we are deceived. We observe things, but we don't quite know what it is. This ingenious remark represents this phenomenon - showing that what we do observe isn't necessarily reality.

Finally, this remark shows our ability to blend everything into one simple system we can stereotype the world into. It shows the limitations of human thinking - and shows how active we must be in our thinkings before we are able to fully grasp the picture.

By banning Garchomp, we have committed a sin that is equivalent to kicking puppies and pushing grandmas into the middle of a highly congested street.

I applaud you darkartisan for your literary masterwork that enlightened us all.
 
I'm not even going to pretend that I know whether or not Garchomp should be banned. I have no idea; that's for people who've been here and been playing competitively much longer than I have to decide.

And now that a decision has been reached, I really don't think it's a great idea to start questioning it. You are of course welcome to try to make an argument for Garchomp to be allowed back into OU, but I think it be a lot easier just to accept the decision that's been made. And I'd be willing to bet that once time passes and you start playing with the ban in place, I think you'll start enjoying yourself just as much as you did before.
 
If you read it correctly, I implied that people don't have enough time to play pokemon all day. We have to study, social lives, sports, etc. College students have tests, of course...
