Introduction

This team has peaked at 1200 on the ladder. I need help figuring out what im missing from making this team able to climb higher. I built this team around Garchomp as I believe it is one of the strongest physical sweepers in OU right now. The biggest issue i have found is Zard-Y can very easily sweep me if Landorus is dead.

Teambuilding Process

So I wanted to build this team around Garchomp as I said before I believe it is one the strongest physical sweepers in OU right now. It has good type coverage, setting up a swords dance means you can one shot most Pokemon in the meta right now.

Garchomp's biggest weakness right now is ice. Typhlosion can very easily one shot every ice type i see in the meta right now. Garchomp also as an issue with bulky water types and find that Hidden Power Grass can very easily handle them.

dhelmise.png

Dhelmise is my favorite pokemon from SM and conveniently it fits perfectly into this team. With Steel Worker he has 3 stabs which counter fairy and water which are 2 of my teams biggest weaknesses so far. It also is naturally very bulky which lets me switch it into something and sometimes kill whatever it is against.

slowbro.png

Mega Slowbro is my fire type counter as Dhelmise is weak to fire and poison. Slowbro can kill both of those types and anything he cant kill he will paralyze letting something else kill it. He is also a great switch in to get Dhelmise or Garchomp out if when needed.

Landorus is a very strong sweeper and stealth rocker which helps counter my biggest counter which is Zard-Y. Along with Rock Z moves it can do major damage when allowed to start sweeping or it can just revenge kill something so the rest of my team can sweep. If i can get stealth rocks up early in the game it can really set me up for victory if someone isn't prepared to clear them.

tapu fini.png

Tapu Fini is a great support pokemon that can even tank bust if needed because of nature's madness. It helps me beat tanky stall Pokemon if i can get a nature's madness off on it. It can also stop something from setting up on me with taunt or it can get rid of rocks or spikes if I don't need them up in that match.

The Team

garchomp.gif

Garchomp @ Firium Z
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fire Fang
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
Garchomp is a beast he can OHKO a large portion of the meta game. Plus having Firium Z he can kill basically every steel type in the game. I used him because he is a strong sweeper who has good coverage. I can lead off with him and kill something turn one or I can wait to send him in till later in the battle and have him clean up the rest of the battle if he has no threats left.

typhlosion.gif

Typhlosion @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Eruption
- Lava Plume
- Extrasensory
- Hidden Power [Grass]
Typhlosion is a strong special sweeper who handles most types that the rest of my team cant even if he doesnt have a super effective move he is scarfed and can revenge kill any major threats to my team because he has Eruption.

dhelmise.gif

Dhelmise @ Choice Band
Ability: Steelworker
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Anchor Shot
- Earthquake
- Power Whip
- Rock Slide
Dhelmise with a choice band is extremely powerful since he has 3 stab types even though I do not run a ghost move because I do not find it being needed with this team. Anchor Shot can kill fairies which are a major threat to Garchomp. It can kill water types which are a threat to Garchomp or typhosion. Rock Slide and Earthquake to just spread consistent damage that can catch something upon switch-in. I was unsure if I should run Choice Band or Assault Vest but I find Choice Band is an extremely high damage threat that people sometimes do not see coming.

slowbro-mega.gif

Slowbro-Mega @ Slowbronite
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 248 HP / 232 Def / 28 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Slack Off
- Thunder Wave
- Psyshock
- Scald
Slowbro is a Pokemon i use to switch out my sweepers so they dont get killed. If they have a threat that wont kill Slowbro I can T-Wave them and at that point they are just fodder for the rest of my team. Slack Off is consistent healing along with 2 stab moves for coverage if i ever need to kill something or just weaken it for one of my sweepers.

landorus-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Rockium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 244 HP / 192 Atk / 72 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
Landorus is my stealth rocker and Zard-Y counter. He can kill any flying type that my Garchomp cant hit. I can lead with him and setup rocks then just U-Turn into something that will eat the hit. Which tends to be Slowbro because I can paralyze the threats. The speed investment is for stuff my machamp that will run Ice Punch it allows me to U-Turn into Slowbro then kill it. Landorus and Slowbro make a nasty combo that is really hard to kill.

tapufini.gif

Tapu Fini @ Leftovers
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 192 Def / 16 SpD / 52 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Moonblast
- Defog
- Nature's Madness
Tapu Fini is kind off a place holder Pokemon. He Taunts to stop Pokemon from setting up on me while Nature's Madness lets me get free damage on the pokemon. It is bulky enough to take a hit. The speed is to out speed a non invested Landorus and getting a free Taunt so it cant set up on me. I have thought about switching this for other Pokemon but I am unsure of what I would switch it out for.

Conclusion

I am looking for tips as to how I could improve this team to climb higher. Also i am looking for maybe other options to use instead of Tapu Fini. Thanks for taking the time to help me improve my team. Sorry about some missing sprites I used the RMT maker because I have no experience with making threads and I could not find the missing sprites online anywhere.
