I very much enjoy poker, and have been playing a lot of it in the past year. Texas Hold 'Em, Pot Limit Omaha, Stud Hi/Lo, Razz, etc. are all fun, and I like to play both online and at my local casinos. I've even gone to Vegas a few times and played there. Ever since I've started watching pro players on Twitch, I've become fascinated with the strategies they employ, and the seemingly crazy but fundamentally sound way they play the game. It's fun to sweat them in big pots, and of course hilarious to watch them get hit with bad beats. It's also taught me a lot about keeping my cool; these guys on Twitch barely break a sweat when they lose hundreds or even thousands of dollars, even if they got the best of it and ended up getting unlucky, while I'm over here raging at losing imaginary ladder points on Showdown.
Besides that, I've taken a liking to Blackjack as well as a more sociable and friendly way to play cards with others. I like not having to worry about taking others' money and instead being able to root each other on against the dealer. I even had an older lady teach me the finer points of the game when I told her it was my first time playing. Couple that with my local casino giving free beer to people playing Blackjack and other table games, and you've got a nice way to spend an hour or two.
