[SET COMMENTS]
* Galarian Darmanitan makes for a strong yet niche revenge killer against top threats such as Zacian-C, Eternatus, Arceus-Ground, and Deoxys-A for balance and bulky offense teams. It also assists its teammates with U-turn support, making it a solid source of speed control. However, its Stealth Rock weakness limits its overall longevity and makes it weaker to priority moves from Marshadow and Arceus, which other speed control options such as Pheromosa do not have to deal with, and it is often setup fodder for Pokemon such as Tera Water Zygarde, defensive Primal Kyogre, and Alomomola. This means that Galarian Darmanitan is mostly used to strengthen the team against opposing offense matchups, rather than being consistent into other structures such as fat balance or stall.
* Earthquake complements Icicle Crash nicely, hitting the Steel- and Fire-types, such as Necrozma-DM, Zacian-C, and Chi-Yu, that resist the latter while also hitting Primal Groudon super effectively. Rock Slide is necessary to prevent Ho-Oh from scouting Galarian Darmanitan's chosen move and cleanly OHKO it, which is very useful for Galarian Darmanitan's teammates to capitalize on afterwards. U-turn is necessary for pivoting against foes Galarian Darmanitan cannot handle, which is needed early-game against healthy Primal Groudon, Zygarde, Ho-Oh, and support Arceus formes. Flare Blitz can be considered over Earthquake, notably for being able to OHKO Zacian-C more reliably while also OHKOing Ferrothorn and Calyrex-I after Stealth Rock. However, the recoil combined with Galarian Darmanitan's weakness to Stealth Rock; its inability to hit Water-types, notably offensive Primal Kyogre; and its inability to hit Primal Groudon super effectively makes this rarely worthwhile, especially because Ferrothorn is already at risk of being 2HKOed by Icicle Crash.
* Tera Ground not only removes Galarian Darmanitan's Stealth Rock weakness but also bolsters Earthquake's power to new heights. It notably gives Earthquake a chance to OHKO Dragon Dance Necrozma-DM and offensive Primal Kyogre after Stealth Rock, more reliably OHKOes Zacian-C and Eternatus, and is useful against Tera Fire variants of Eternatus.
* Galarian Darmanitan works best on offense structures where its ability to pivot and prevent setup sweepers from getting out of hand is valued. Due to its horrendous bulk, Galarian Darmanitan works best as a revenge killer and should only come in after a fainted ally or a slow pivot such as Landorus-T, after which it can safely remove an offensive threat like Zacian-C or Eternatus.
* Outside of hyper offense matchups, Galarian Darmanitan works best as a cleaner rather than a wallbreaker. The latter role is performed much better by other offensive Ice-types such as Chien-Pao and Kyurem-B, but Galarian Darmanitan's higher Speed and unresisted coverage allow it to make quick work of opposing teams in the late-game after offensive pressure from teammates such as Eternatus and Primal Groudon have worn down would-be checks such as Necrozma-DM or Ho-Oh. Galarian Darmanitan can also be used as a lead thanks to its fast U-turn, but switch-ins to other common leads such as Primal Groudon and Arceus-Ground are necessary, making Giratina-O and Ho-Oh fantastic partners.
* Eternatus is one of Galarian Darmanitan's best partners; offensive sets, such as Meteor Beam and Choice Specs, are able to break through physical walls such as Zygarde and Primal Groudon, with Meteor Beam sets sniping Ho-Oh too, making Galarian Darmanitan harder to pivot into with its colorful coverage. Eternatus may also encourage Ho-Oh to use Tera Grass to avoid being OHKOed by Meteor Beam, opening itself up to Galarian Darmanitan afterwards. Meanwhile, defensive sets utilize Toxic Spikes to slowly wear down foes, allowing Galarian Darmanitan to easily clean up afterwards thanks to all the switches it forces. In return, Galarian Darmanitan is able to revenge kill Zacian-C and Deoxys-A and wear down Necrozma-DM, all three of which Eternatus does not like dealing with. It can also snipe Ho-Oh with Rock Slide, removing one of Eternatus's best checks, and pivot into Eternatus against Water-types such as Alomomola, Arceus-Water, and defensive Primal Kyogre, against which it can begin to set up easily. It should be noted that Choice Specs sets on Eternatus are able to both wallbreak and set up Toxic Spikes for Galarian Darmanitan.
* Galarian Darmanitan is both weak to Stealth Rock and weakened by Sticky Web, which heavily limits what it is capable of revenge killing against hyper offense teams; this makes Defog users such as Giratina-O and offensive Ho-Oh fantastic partners. They are both good at wearing foes down with Toxic support, and the former is able to check Double Dance Primal Groudon, which Galarian Darmanitan cannot outspeed and revenge kill. Giratina-O is also good at breaking through Tera Water Zygarde, which completely walls Galarian Darmanitan, while also containing Extreme Speed Arceus, which is able to revenge kill Galarian Darmanitan with ease. Mega Diancie is another strong option to pair with Galarian Darmanitan, as it is able to prevent Sticky Web from going up, while Galarian Darmanitan easily removes Pokemon that outspeed and OHKO Mega Diancie such as Zacian-C and Deoxys-A.
* Galarian Darmanitan also enjoys entry hazard support, which allows it to achieve more damage thresholds such as OHKOing offensive Eternatus with Earthquake. This makes Primal Groudon and Ferrothorn good allies; these two are also able to check Primal Kyogre and Arceus-Water, while Tera Grass Ferrothorn does well against Tera Water Zygarde. Offensive teammates such as Zacian-C, in conjunction with Galarian Darmanitan, can easily wear down their common checks such as Necrozma-DM and Ho-Oh. Zacian-C and offensive Ho-Oh are able to check Calm Mind Arceus-Dark and Arceus-Fairy, both of which are threats to the offense teams Galarian Darmanitan fits best on.
