[OVERVIEW]
Unlike Talonflame and Xatu, Galarian Articuno is a powerful pivot that sets up its teammates for success with its potent Future Sight. Galarian Articuno's able to switch into and force out foes like Weezing, Vileplume, and Xatu, use Future Sight, and pivot out to a powerful wallbreaker whose checks will be unable to switch into it on the turn Future Sight hits. In addition, it's a fantastic counter to Indeedee-F, easily tanking Expanding Force and dissuading Mystical Fire because of its ability, Competitive. (oop) Defensively, though, Galarian Articuno often falls short. It's not a reliable check to Fighting- or Ground-types because of its poor physical bulk, and coverage attacks from the likes of Tsareena and Virizion limit its chances to switch in too. Galarian Articuno is also very prone to being statused by foes like Vileplume, Mudsdale, and Quagsire as it switches in to set Future Sight, which may force it to waste turns recovering health instead of pivoting or attacking.

Set Details
====
Galarian Articuno's Future Sight + U-turn combo heavily pressures defensive Pokemon like Vileplume, Mudsdale, and Weezing, making it much harder for them to check physical wallbreakers paired with Galarian Articuno. 144 HP EVs prevent +2 Silvally-Ground's Rock Slide from OHKOing Galarian Articuno, while 184 Speed EVs and a Timid nature let it outrun non-Choice Scarf Rotom-C. If your team is already safe versus Silvally-Ground, though, a simple spread of 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe with a Timid nature is fine.
Physical wallbreakers such as Silvally-Ground, Toxicroak, and Passimian benefit greatly from Galarian Articuno's Future Sight, and they also appreciate its U-turn bringing them in against Steel-types like Copperajah and Stakataka. Similarly, good defensive switch-ins to the Steel-types that force Galarian Articuno out, such as Garbodor, Mudsdale, and Galarian Stunfisk, are appreciated. Guzzlord walls Galarian Articuno quite well, and other Dark-types such as Sneasel and Drapion outspeed and beat it too; this makes Pokemon like Sylveon and Weezing good to have. Galarian Articuno often switches into foes like Weezing, Vileplume, and Mudsdale that can status it, so pairing it with a cleric like Vaporeon or Diancie is helpful.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====
Galarian Articuno can run a sweeper set on hyper offense teams with Stored Power, Agility, and Weakness Policy, differentiating itself from Xatu with its superior natural power and strong secondary STAB attack in Hurricane. However, Xatu is usually preferred because of Magic Bounce providing it with an immunity to Toxic. A Choice Specs set makes great use of Galarian Articuno's spammable STAB attacks and puts extra pressure on generic special walls that may attempt to switch into it.
Checks and Counters
====
**Steel-types**: Galarian Articuno itself is incapable of beating Steel-types such as Stakataka, Copperajah, and Escavalier. The former two can use it as setup fodder for Stealth Rock, while Escavalier can freely cripple the opponent's switch-in with Knock Off or Toxic.
**Guzzlord**: Bulky Guzzlord both blocks Future Sight and is a solid switch-in to Galarian Articuno's Hurricane, avoiding even a 3HKO. It's quite slow, though, making it easy to exploit with U-turn.
**Faster Attackers**: Pokemon such as Aerodactyl, Sneasel, and Heliolisk easily outspeed and OHKO Galarian Articuno with their STAB attacks, although the latter requires some chip damage to consistently do so. Decidueye's Shadow Sneak and Toxicroak's Sucker Punch can also revenge kill a weakened Galarian Articuno.
**Rock-types**: If Future Sight isn't set, Rock-types like Diancie, Tyrantrum, and Aerodactyl easily take on Galarian Articuno. They all can also use the forced switch as a chance to set Stealth Rock.
