Furfrou & Friends

I've always wanted to get involved in the metagame of Pokémon and I think X & Y would be a great starting point to doing so. This is a team that I for the most part thought up myself.

Furfrou
EVs: 252HP/252SDef/4Atk
Nature: Careful
Ability: Fur Coat
Item: Leftovers
Moveset: Return, U-Turn, Thunder Wave, Roar
A very good lead. This team revolves a lot around Furfrou and how versatile he can be. And being the first Pokémon I ever EV trained, I wanted to give him special care when decided what moves he will use. I then decided on giving this Furfrou a parashuffling set, hence the addition of Thunder Wave & Roar. The point of parashuffling is to paralyze the opponent, then force them to switch out with Roar.
This serves two major purposes. First off, it's in my opinion one of the deadliest status ailments. It not only cuts your speed, but provides a small chance to not allow you to do anything in the first place. The second roll it serves to to help the major strategy of the team, to slow yours down. This will allow the sweeper of my team, who is rather slow and rather frail, to safely outspeed and one-hit-kill your whole team.
Now to mention that Furfrou is rather bulky due to his ability and his already half-decent defenses. Base 60 & 90 Defense & Special Defense isn't going to win any tournaments anytime soon, but I've noticed that it gives Furfrou just enough bulk to paralyze three or four Pokémon before going down. Also, due to his typing, Furfrou is only weak to fighting. And since most good fighting moves are physical anyway, Fur Coat evens out the damage, almost negating his one weakness. The only attack I have to worry about at that point is Aura Sphere & Focus Blast, one which is very predictable, and the other which is notorious for missing.

Banette
EVs: 252Atk/128HP/128Spd
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Insomnia(Prankster when he Mega-evolves)
Item: Banettite
Moveset: Will-O-Wisp, Taunt, Shadow Claw, Facade
Another good lead. Banette is my first experience with mega-evolution as well as using taunt effectively. This Pokémon is who I will usually lead with if I see a Pokémon notorious for using that pesky move Spore (ex. Breloom, Smeargle, Whimsicott.) In this case, I will wait to Mega-evolve Banette, since I think he still have Insomnia since the next turn, and thus, immunity to Spore. Then, I can safely use Taunt since it will have priority by that point, do his his Mega-evolution's ability.
But that's not the only use Banette has. Due to the new mechanics of paralysis, Electric-types are now immune to it. And Ground-types are immune to Thunder Wave in the first place. This is where Will-O-Wisp comes in. It will allow me to get at least some kind of status ailment on them. And if I can burn a physical Pokémon such as Garchomp, it can also allow Banette to live a while longer and maybe come back into battle later. I also think it maybe be able to burn Pokémon such as Breloom or Gliscor before their Toxic Orb takes effect, since they are notorious for using those items (I may be a bit wrong about this though, I'm personally not use to the Toxic Orb's mechanics.) He also runs Shadow Claw for some cheap damage, and Facade as a nasty surprise for opponents using the Synchronize ability. He can also a spin-blocker for the next member of my team.
I feel Banette is a neat choice that can help out my team either early or late into the match. Whether is be to keep my opponents lead from doing anything, or to stop a Pokémon from undoing all my work with Aromatherapy or Heal Bell, he is a great asset that I want to keep alive as long as I can.

Galvantula (Shiny)
EVs: 252SAtk/252Spd/4HP
Nature: Relaxed
Ability: Compound Eyes(It's Unnerve right now, but thanks to the Ability Capsule I can chance this.)
Item: Air Balloon
Moveset: Bug Buzz/Energy Ball/Thunder/Sticky Web
Nothing looks cooler than a shiny Pokémon on a competitive team, and I was lucky not only to get a shiny Pokémon that I like, but also one that synergies well on this team. His access to the new entry hazard, Stick Web, provides the ability to slow down my opponent's team even further.
He also has high speed in order to get out Sticky Web before he can be killed, as well as high special attack to deal some damage before he goes. He also has to Air balloon to potentially mess with some choice users who have locked themselves into Earthquake.

Rapidash
EVs: 252Atk/252Spd/4HP
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Flash Fire
Item: Choice Band
Moveset: Megahorn/Poison Jab/Wild Charge/Flare Blitz
Rapidash is an odd choice, but I feel this Pokémon's abilities and type coverage will add a little bit of unpredictability to my team. First off, if I ever foresee a fire attack coming at my Galvantula, and I don't think he will be able to outspeed the opponent or knock them out, I can switch into Rapidash and render their turn useless. Next, Rapidash has access to Poison Jab, which is one of few ways this team had to deal with the new Fairy-type. Since I keep forgetting that it was added. I may like the addition of the new type, but I can't be the only one who keeps forgetting about them when I build my X & Y teams.
Rapidash is also my introduction to the choice items. I thought it'd be interesting to throw one on my team. And I chose to use the Choice Band over the others because I find Rapidash is fast enough.

Reuniclus
Evs: 252SAtk/252HP/4Def
Nature: Modest
Ability: Magic Guard
Item: Life Orb
Moveset: Recover/Flash Cannon/Psychic/Energy Ball
Without a doubt the bulkiest Pokémon on my team aside from Furfrou. Reuniclus' point is to take down some members of my opponents team before the final member of my team can come in a sweep the competition. I always liked Reinuclus. He has great type coverage as well as access to Recover to make sure that he isn't going to be dying anytime soon. In fact, it's very possible for him even stall a burned Pokémon to death by repetitiously using Recover over and over again.

Rampardos
Evs: 252Atk/252Spd/4HP
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Mold Breaker
Item: Expert Belt
Moveset: Zen Headbutt/Chip Away/Crunch/Head Smash
And finally, the sweeper. Rampardos has always been my favorite Rock-type, but I've never found a good way to use him. He may have the highest attack of any non-legendary, but honestly, that's his only great stat. However, with the help of the rest of the team, I'm able to slow down my opponent to the point of which Rampardos can sweep the competition.

Welcome to competitive battling gamedawg! You are on the right track with your first two pokemon. I know your galvantula is shiny, but it is unusable due to being a relaxed nature. Also you can't have air balloon and ability capsule at the same time. If you had to choose, go for ability capsule. As for reuniclus, you can scrap flash cannon for something like focusblast or shadow ball. Rampardos is wasting a moveslot for chip away. Try something like earthquake or iron head.

I don't want to suggest any team member replacements but if i were to, you need:
A dark type resist
A heal bell/wish user or both (for furfrou and banette)

Btw, I never tried a swagger+psych up banette, but they look pretty deadly with paralysis support and once all the normal types are removed.
For a first attempt, this is a pretty good team.

Chip Away is a weird choice, not many people use it and it would get no bonus whatsoever from the Expert Belt. I don't know what I was thinking with that but I think I might try Earthquake and see how that works. Also, how the Ability Capsule works is you select it in the menu, then use it on a Pokémon like you would a potion. It's not a hold item.
And I had Reuniclus use Flash Cannon for some Fairy coverage, since my only other option was Rapidash's Poison Jab(which also probably isn't the best idea for him.) I've never been a fan of how inaccurate Focus Blast can be, but I didn't even think of Shadow Ball.

Thank you for your help! I'll try some of these changes and see how it works.

Before I get into a rate, I'd like to just say there is a convention for formatting, as it is used by pokemon showdown (the main simulator used by smogon) and using this format makes it easy for others to import your team and try it, and also makes it easier to read. I'll demonstrate the format with your furfrou:

Furfrou @ Leftovers
Ability: Fur Coat
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 HP / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Return
- U-turn
- Thunder Wave
- Roar

In competitive pokemon, shinies can be cool, but natures and IVs come first. Careful is an awful nature for galvantula as it is negitive special attack, on a special pokemon. Try Timid Nature instead. Also, I think banette would prefer the extra bulk and doesn't need 128 speed ivs. You will also find that pokemon like rapidash aren't used for a reason, they are outclassed. Infernape and Talonflame are two physical fire types who are much better (though possibly talonflame doesn't suit the role rapidash currently plays) and there a a plethora of special fire types, including Heatran and Chandelure, who are very good. If you used talonflame, it would take the role of a revenge killer (something your team lacks) like this:

Talonflame @ Life Orb
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Brave Bird
- Swords Dance
- Roost

Heatran would be a slower, bulkier option that maybe would be better seeing as you don't run defog or rapid spin. It also lets you put down rocks, which is pretty important in OU. This is a standard specially defensive rocks set:

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Earth Power
- Lava Plume
- Toxic/Roar
- Stealth Rock

I would recommend using the aforementioned simulator Pokemon Showdown as it lets you try teams before you take the time to breed and ev train them in game. It also lets you play around with evs. It's really fun and easy; give it a go!

I like the idea of Infernape. I might have to try that out once Pokébank comes out. And I also like the suggestion to rearrange Banette's EVs a bit. Thank you!
