Normalize Flutter-Mane is a dangerous setup sweeper that requires specific counterplay to deal with. Entrainment + Normalize prevents foes from damaging Flutter Mane, with its Fairy typing giving it an immunity to the common Draco Plate Judgment. Quiver Dance increases damage output and allows Flutter Mane to outspeed and nullify would-be faster threats like Zacian-C. Taunt prevents defensive checks from PP stalling Flutter Mane and denies Glare; alternatively, Strength Sap provides Flutter Mane with longevity, allowing it to repeatedly switch into passive Pokemon. Pixie Plate lets Flutter Mane hit Dark-types like Ting-Lu and Arceus-Dark super effectively, whereas Spooky Plate lets it hit Imposter users and opposing Ghost-types harder. A Modest nature provides a power boost, while Timid can be used to outspeed positive natured Arceus formes to use Entrainment first. Flutter Mane struggles against bulky Magic Bounce and Good as Gold users, so strong wallbreakers such as Choice Band Zacian-C and Choice Specs Miraidon are good partners. Even with Normalize, Flutter Mane can still be statused by moves like Glare and Will-O-Wisp, so a Heal Bell user can be helpful. Flutter Mane also has poor physical bulk, so slow defensive pivots like Ting-Lu and RegenVest Hisuian Goodra are appreciated to bring Flutter Mane in safely while also providing Knock Off support to remove Ability Shield.
