first custom team! Balanced

Since I Haven't made a team myself, I decided to give it a go. I don't have much experience in pokemon battling (most of them done on pokemon showdown and few more on pokemon online). I'll do the best I can to explain my thought process. Hope I can get some good pointers for any improvements I can make. Thanks in advance!

Golurk @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
- Shadow Punch

This is my stealth rocker and my lead. He can take hits and can go on the offensive as 2nd physical sweeper since it's a mixed set. Also he is a spin blocker with additional immunity to fighting and electric. I have fire punch and shadow punch for better type coverage. Besides setting up rocks, earthquake would be the main thing for him.

Exeggutor @ Sitrus Berry
Trait: Harvest
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Bold Nature
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Psychic
- Protect

It's my physical wall with a standard subseed skill tree. It is very hard to kill and it can force many water types to switch, then go for a free sub. I take psychic over HPice because I have icebeam on suicune, with a higher base power, as well as it's neutral to most typings means his damage won't be completely unnoticable.

Suicune @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Surf
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Electric]

Since most Suicunes are walls so I decided to add some surprise factor to my team. This guy is my special sweeper on the team. I chose the safer build over the life orb+hydro pump combo (not saying it doesn't work, it's a matter of greater risk and greater reward), on top of the fact that he is natually bulky with a good water typing. I carry icebeam and HPelectric for better coverage.

468Togekiss.png

Togekiss @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
- Nasty Plot
- Roost
- Air Slash
- Heal Bell

My goal with this togekiss is to have a potential sweeper with nasty plot as well as some utility. Togekiss is natually defensive so he can tank and Heal bell to cover my team's general weakness to status problems (eg, toxic, burn) quite well. Offensively it relies on the high chance of flinch hacks and decent coverage of air slash (as a backup special sweeper).

heracross.jpg

Heracross @ Leftovers
Trait: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Stone Edge

Heracross is my main physical sweeper and a big threat to many teams. With just +2 he can OHKO many pokemons out there. He's also a great revenge killer and gets angrier when someone tries to wear him down with status problems :) He is not choiced which means entry hazards is not a huge problem without a spinner on my team.

umbreon.jpg

Umbreon @ Leftovers
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Foul Play
- Toxic
- Protect

This is my special wall on the team with standard wish pass and additional support from toxic ( helps me to break walls or to wear down a sweeper). It also has protect for additional scouting capabilities and more stalling power. Foul play is a decent offensive move to catch some physical sweeper off guard especially the set up ones.

Any constructive idea is welcome and feel free to try this team out :P

You need at least 3 lines of description per pokemon. You need to revise this RMT as its pretty incomplete. Try checking the RMT rules before posting.

It's a rule of the RMT forum to provide atleast 3 lines of description for each pokemon. Just look at other RMTs for examples of how to do it. Adding pictures is always nice as well.

Overall the team looks pretty solid. I think Golurk should have Ice Punch over Fire Punch though, as a way to hit Flying types (especially Gligar) and Grass types super effectively. I think Togekiss would really really benefit from having Aura Sphere over Heal Bell, it'll be really hard to sweep with it when so many things resist Air Slash. If you really want a Heal Bell user however, I would replace Toxic with it on Umbreon.

Overall the team is quite slow, I think a Choice Scarf user would really help it out. Of all the things on your team Exeggutor is the easiest to replace. There are a lot of good Scarf users to choose from; Flygon & Mienshao would both work but there are a lot of other options, those two are just the best ones not weak to Stealth Rocks.

Edit: Much better now, thank you!

I enjoy seeing NU Pokemon played in the higher tiers, and Golurk is one of those I see fairly often (maybe it'll move back to RU with the next tier shift!). The set looks good, exceptI'd swap Fire Punch for either Ice Punch or Drain Punch. Ice Punch hits Flying-types hard and has good SE coverage in general, while Drain Punch gives Golurk an additional source of recovery and perfect neutral coverage.

I also agree that Exeggutor is replaceable and a Choice Scarfer is needed. One of the most underrated cleaners in UU, in my opinion, is Scarf Krookodile. It has very good coverage and is faster than ScarfCross:

Krookodile (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
-Earthquake
-Crunch
-Stone Edge/Superpower
-Aerial Ace

You have Umbreon to handle Ghosts, so Crunch is the Dark STAB that is needed on any Krookodile without Pursuit. Earthquake is also a very important STAB with high base power and good coverage. Run Stone Edge if Golurk uses Drain Punch, and Superpower if it runs Ice Punch, in order to get optimal coverage across your team. I suggest Aerial Ace in the last slot pretty much solely to OHKO ScarfCross, but if you're not having problems with it then you can put a bunch of different moves here: Pursuit, Aqua Tail, Fire Fang, Dragon Claw, etc.

Since your physical wall is now absent, I would suggest changing Togekiss slightly, giving it a 252 HP/252 Def/4 SpA spread with a Bold nature. With investment Togekiss can tank physical hits very well, especially with Roost. Depending on the status you prefer, replace Nasty Plot with either Thunder Wave or Flamethrower (20% burn rate). I'd personally use Thunder Wave though, because it is more reliable and lets Togekiss use Paraflinch.

Keep working on this team! Good luck!

Thanks for the great suggestions guys! T-wave on togekiss and drain punch on golurk works :) (esp that T-wave). Scarf Krok so far is great as a sweeper except it has exposed one of my team's main weakness which is water (eg, LO kingdra with waterfall can 2HKO my togekiss/suicune with stealth rocks). I'll give scarf mienshao a run. Also grass types are troublesome as well (without togekiss). So if there are good alternatives I'd like to give it a try :P

Good team! Just a few points.
1. Golurk is awesome and can 100% move up. More people are running earthquake on heracross which almost cleanly 2hko bulky nidoqueen. Golurk can take hits all day, which brings me to my point. You can run a bulkier spread and still hit hard. Impish nature 252 hp/152 def/52 sp def/ 52 speed with stealth rock/drain punch/shadow punch/earthquake with iron fist let's you have great coverage, bulk and power thanks to iron fist. this spread of golurk can take a life orbed night slash/ice punch from neutral weavile and ohko with drain punch.
2. If you're having problems with lo kingdra try whimsicott/sableye in place of exeguttor. Whisicott can stun spore/encore dragon dance/subseed kingdra to death and sableye can burn and recover or hit with foul play.
other than that its a good team! Just watch for life orbed roserade who can put to sleep togekiss and hit hard with leaf storm/sludge bomb
