[SET COMMENTS]
Thanks to its access to Spikes and a unique Grass / Steel typing, Ferrothorn has a valuable niche in the Ubers metagame as a Spikes setter and check to Water-types like Gyarados and Rotom-W. With full investment into physical bulk, Ferrothorn can survive +2 Life Orb Excadrill's Earthquake and still survive +2 Shadow Ball from Polteageist afterward, even without any investment in Special Defense. Leech Seed and Leftovers help keep Ferrothorn healthy and deal residual damage to opposing Pokemon. Power Whip deals solid damage to Gyarados and Excadrill, while Gyro Ball allows Ferrothorn to hit Zacian-C and offensive Eternatus on the switch in. In order to maximize Gyro Ball's Base Power, it should be run with a Relaxed nature and 0 Speed IVs. Knock Off, despite not being able to remove Zacian-C's Rusted Sword, is good choice to remove Galarian Corsola's Eviolite and even Eternatus's Life Orb, making them more manageable for the rest of team. On other hand, Protect gives more recovery from Leech Seed, but it is unable to fully block Max Moves, and Ferrothorn loses the ability to remove items with Knock Off.
Teammates like Eternatus and Toxapex are good options to form a balance core with Ferrothorn, due to their resistance to Fire-type moves and ability to check Corviknight, which walls Ferrothorn, especially with Defog and Pressure. Hippowdon and Quagsire are able to check Zacian-C; Ferrothorn is shaky check for it due to Fire Fang. Hippodown creates a hazard stacking core with Stealth Rock when used in tandem with Ferrothorn, while Quagsire can win in one-a-one versus Life Orb Eternatus thanks to Stockpile.
