Fast is Last - An OU Trick Room Team

Hi,
I must admit, I generally struggle with team building. I have a tendency to go for Ideas that are a bit 'out of the ordinary' (I am currently testing a NU Tailwind team for singles matches, for example) and this has been a bit limiting. But I think I have found a Friend in trick room. It fulfills my desire for something a bit Mad, but is still reasonably competitive, especially against a team that isn't prepared for it.
(Teambuilding process and Threatlist will come later, I was going to post this yesterday but I accidentally hit ALT+Left and it went back, erasing everything I had written, so I'm kinda fed up ATM)

The Lead:

Bronzong @ Lum Berry | Levitate
Relaxed Nature
128HP/180DeF/200Sp.D [0 Spe Iv]
- Trick Room
- Explosion
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock

Bronzong is possibly the best lead for a Trick Room Team. It generally manages to get Trick Room up and then explode, although Taunt can be a challenge. I generally go Trick Room - Explosion and then straight to Clamperl, as it hopefully lets me take down one of their pokemon and give Clamperl a Free switch in, which is very useful. If I think I can get stealth rock up then I will.

Synergy: Fire - Octillery, or Cresselia if I feel She can take it.

The Bulky Trick Roomer

Cresselia @ Leftovers | Levitate
Sassy Nature
108HP/248DeF/152Sp.D [0 Spe Iv]
- Trick Room
- Toxic
- Moonlight
- Ice Beam

Cresselia is a very Bulky pokemon, and fully capable of Taking a powerful hit and setting up trick room. Toxic lets me outstall things quite well, and Ice Beam is better than Psychic because it lets me hit things a little bit where Psychic couldn't - Dragons in particular don't like this set.

Synergy:
Ghost - Porygon2
Dark - Bronzong Can Sponge most hits

The Super Ducky

Porygon2 @ Leftovers | Trace
Quiet Nature
108Hp/200DeF/200Sp.D [0 Spe Iv]
- Trick Room
- Recover
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

Porygon2. The Number of people that underestimate this pokemon. It's definately got the bulk to be a good trick room user, and the BoltBeam combo lets me hit a lot of pokemon, and stop me being outstalled too much. In Particular, this set laughs at Vaporeon, switching in, tracing Water Absorb and laughing at Surf while wearing it down with Thunderbolt.

Synergy:
Fighting - Cresselia or Dragonite

The Little Octopus

Octillery @ Expert Belt | Suction Cups
Quiet Nature
252Atk/252HP/4Sp.D
- Flamethrower
- Energy Ball
- Water Spout
- Ice Beam

Octillery has one of the best movepools in all of pokemon, and with Trick Room in play, can sweep virtually everything with little trouble. I've seen this OHKO everything that's sent in to counter it with Energy Ball, Ice Beam and Flamethrower, and Water Spout is great STAB that hit anything not resistant hard. Blissey does wall this set, but a Dragonite Superpower OHKO's most Blissey, so that's my backup plan.

Synergy:
Electric - Marowak
Grass - Dragonite

The Mixed Sweeper

Dragonite @ Life Orb | Inner Focus
Quiet Nature
252Atk/252Sp.A/4HP [0 Spe Iv]
- Draco Meteor
- Extremespeed
- Fire Blast
- Superpower

Dragonite Makes a great mixed Sweeper, and in Trick Room, It has a chance to outclass the Other Dragons it's usually compared to. Extremespeed lets it kill other priority users, and gives it some use outside of Trick Room. Fire Blast + Superpower let it kill the Skarmbliss combo, and Draco Meteor is powerful STAB that lets it OHKO most of the other Dragons it finds itself up against.

Synergy:
Ice - Bronzong
Dragon - Bronzong
Rock - Bronzong or Marowak

The Physical Bone-thrower

Marowak @ Thick Club | Rock Head
Brave Nature
252Atk/252Hp/4DeF
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
- Stone Edge
- Double Edge

Marowak Is a Great sweeper inside Trick Room, and Thick Club allows his attack stat to skyrocket, netting some important OHKO's and allowing Marowak to kill almost anything in two turns. The given moves achieve perfect coverage, and coming of Marowaks monstrous attack stat, almost nothing wants to switch in.

Synergy:
Water: Octillery
Grass: Dragonite or Bronzong
Ice: Bronzong or Octillery

Thanks for any Feedback you might have!

Changes in Bold

Stone edge + Fire punch + Earthquake is fine for maro. Belly drum is far too risky, not to mention you lose a few TR turns when marowak most likely dies. To be safer, try swords dance or just double edge (goes well with rock head)

Clampearl should honestly be replaced. Octillery is slow and has awesome moves to work with, namely flamethrower, grass knot, and the insanely powerful water spout.

Bronzong and cresselia are good, but psychic has poor attack coverage, even if you already have dragon counters.

Lastly, porygon. Lock-on + zapcannon not only is predictable (they switch to a ground type) but wastes your TR turns. you need to hit powerfully and quickly. Run boltbeam for near perfect coverage.

Hey,
Thanks for the suggestions - I wasn't sure about Clamperl, but it has the highest special attack obtainable outside of ubers (except maybe Specs PorygonZ/Alakhazam) so I thought it might be nice to include, and I've swept quite well with it before, but I'll definately give Octillery a Try. I'm keeping Belly Drum on Marowak, as with good prediction, it literally lets me OHKO evry pokemon in the entire game. I don't have to use it, but if I switch into a pokemon that can't effectively drop my HP 50% (Blissey, for example) it lets me set up and pretty much guarentees 2 KO's. I noticed I'm walled fairly effectively by Vaporeon, so I'm thinking of switching Lock-On/Zap-Cannon on Porygon2 for Sharpen and Return - I switch in, Trace Water absorb so I'm immune to Surf, then I can Sharpen Up and Ko with Return. Once it's Dead, I can Trick Room If it's run out and switch to one of the Sweepers. I'm gonna look at switching psychic off Cresselia, since it has been underperforming, and I'm thinking of dropping something for Toxic, since Atm Cresselia is being outstalled quite a lot.
Anyway, thanks for the Feedback.

You say Clamperl has gotten away with a few sweeps. If it works then keep it. And change Blizzard to Ice Beam. 252hp/252sp.def Calm Dragonite is always ohko'd by her Ice Beam. The only way he survives is if they were using a support set and luckily got Light Screen up in time. Even with Light Screen up Dragonite is 2hko'd by the same Ice Beam 100% of the time. The scenario where they win that way is so rare that it is better to get the 100% accuracy from Ice Beam.

To make up the lost power of the switch from Blizzard to Ice Beam give Bronzong Stealth Rock in place of Confuse Ray. I would also change to Lum Berry to block the Sleep Powder from the common Roserade and the Spore from Smeargle. Looks like you plan on exploding anyway.

Belly Drum is overdoing it on Marowak and Swords Dance is powerful enough. You don't need to hurt him yourself, his defense is respectable, cutting his HP in half takes away his ability to survive the average physical attack. The reason why most people use Earthquake instead of Bonemerang is because of the better accuracy. It's up to you but missing will hinder the sweep. If you continually see Substitute blocking you out then fine, but in general Earthquake is the better move.

Replace Confuse Ray on Bronzong for Stealth Rock. Bronzong is generally very bulky and is reliable enough to set up both Trick Room and Stealth Rock. Just use Stealth Rock first so you don't waste TR turns, then surprise your opponent with it.

I love that you use Porygon2, it is awesome. :) Use Thunderbolt + Ice Beam because it gives near-perfect coverage and effectively counters many threats, including Gyarados, physical Salamence, etc, etc, etc.

Dragonite and Cresselia are good.

You really should consider taking out Belly Drum on Marowak. Marowak is really frail and won't be able to take a hit afterwards. Even if you predict correctly, after you KO something, anything will be able to KO you back with priority. For example, Lucario's Extremespeed, Scizor's Bullet Punch, Empoleon's Aqua Jet, Infernape's Vacuum Wave, yadayadayada. Like Eggbert suggested, use Stone Edge, Earthquake, Fire Punch, and Double-Edge/Swords Dance. I recommend Double-Edge because Swords Dance uses up precious Trick Room turns.

Clamperl will be pretty darn hard to switch in because of its frailty. Try using Empoleon as a special sweeper, or Honchkrow as another mixed sweeper (switching wastes TR turns)

Here is an Empoleon set, modified from the Choice Specs set:

Empoleon@Life Orb
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Quiet
EVs: 252 HP, 252 SpA, 4 Def
-Surf/Hydro Pump
-Grass Knot
-Ice Beam
-Hidden Power Electric

Here's a Honchkrow set, modified from Nasty Plot:
Honchkrow@Life Orb
Ability: Insomnia
Nature: Brave/Quiet (Brave boosts Attack, Quiet boosts Sp Attack)
EVs: 252 Att, 4 Def, 252 SpA
-Dark Pulse
-Heat Wave
-Superpower
-Nasty Plot/Drill Peck (this one is your choice)

Just use Stealth Rock first so you don't waste TR turns, then surprise your opponent with it.

That isn't always the best idea. A foe that can 2hko Bronzong would prevent Trick Room if you start with Stealth Rock.

Scenario 1:

Bronzong Vs. Leadape
Infernape uses Fake out, auto flinch
Infernape uses Fire Blast
Bronzong barely survives, uses Stealth Rock
Infernape uses Fire Blast, ko's bronzong

Scenario 2:

Bronzong Vs. Leadape
Fake out auto flinches
Infernape uses Fire Blast
Bronzong barely survives, uses Trick Room and becomes faster
Bronzong uses Stealth Rock, 1 TR turn is used
Infernape finally finishes him off with Stealth Rock

After Bronzong is killed in this way Clamperl gets a free switch in and a few turns in the room, which should give you a very early lead. The same kind of thing happens with Sleep Leads if you go with Lum Berry, which I highly recommend because not only are Roserade and Smeargle common leads, some people are getting brave with Hypnosis on guys like Gengar.

(and with the standard sassy set Bronzong survives Fake Out+Fire Blast from Leadape 100% of the time)

Ok guys, after some testing, I've updated the team. I've dropped Clamperl for an Octillery, and Marowak has been changed to a Four move set. I've also dropped Lunar Dance for Toxic and Psychic for Ice Beam, and Porygon2 has the BoltBeam combo, meaning it becomes an amazing Vaporeon counter.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback, and any more you have, please let me know.
