Thanks to the combination of Scrappy and Boomburst, Choice Specs Exploud is an amazing wallbreaker in NU, blasting past defensive Pokemon like Vaporeon, Mudsdale, and Sylveon and Ghost-types like Golurk and Decidueye. Overheat is great for targeting Steel-types like Copperajah, Bronzong, and Escavalier, while Hydro Pump handles bulky Rock-types like Diancie and Gigalith; both options help against Boomburst-resistant targets. Shadow Ball 2HKOes Heatproof Bronzong without Overheat's stat drop. Alternatively, Focus Blast can be used to target specially defensive Guzzlord. Exploud does great against bulkier teams, but due to its poor Speed, it needs fast teammates like Choice Scarf Rotom-C and Talonflame to help against faster teams. Exploud appreciates pivots like Xatu and Dragalge giving it opportunities to come in and Wish passers like Sylveon and Vaporeon keeping it healthy.
