Choice Scarf (Azelf) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Expanding Force
- U-turn
- Trick
- Flamethrower / Dazzling Gleam / Knock Off

[SET COMMENTS]
With its high Speed allowing it to outspeed nearly the entire unboosted metagame, a wide movepool, and powerful Psychic Terrain-boosted Expanding Force, Azelf functions as one of the best anti-offense pivots and cleaners in the tier. U-turn provides fast pivoting while threatening an OHKO on Meowscarada and putting pressure on the opponent. Trick allows Azelf to cripple a passive foe such as Blissey or Empoleon with a Choice Scarf while also securing a 2HKO on Manaphy with Expanding Force after minor hazard chip removing its Assault Vest. Flamethrower threatens an OHKO on Chien-Pao and a 2HKO on Corviknight and Kingambit, while Dazzling Gleam threatens an OHKO on offensive Roaring Moon, 2HKOes Hisuian Samurott, and chips Mandibuzz, forcing it to Roost. Knock Off is another option, allowing Azelf to cripple switch-ins such as Empoleon, Hisuian Goodra, and Scream Tail without the loss of its own item. Azelf pairs fantastically with fast, frail offensive pivots such as Barraskewda, Hisuian Electrode, and Roaring Moon, which appreciate Psychic Terrain eliminating their priority weakness while forming a potent VoltTurn core with Azelf, taking advantage of the special walls like Hisuian Goodra and Heatran that it can struggle with. Azelf is frail and vulnerable to entry hazards, so bulky hazard removers such as Corviknight, Great Tusk, and Quaquaval are recommended teammates, allowing Azelf to come in repeatedly over the course of a game to threaten out strong offensive threats that pressure these walls.

azelf should look like Choice Scarf (Azelf) @ Choice Scarf
With its high Speed allowing it to outspeed nearly the entire unboosted meta, a deep movepool, and powerful Psychic Surge-boosted Expanding Force, Azelf functions as one of the best anti-offense pivots and cleaners in the tier. U-Turn provides fast pivoting, while threatening an OHKO on Meowscarada and putting pressure on the foe. Trick allows Azelf to cripple an opponent with a Choice Scarf, securing a 2HKO on Manaphy with Expanding Force after removing its Assault Vest with Stealth Rock its not super likely for eforce to 2hko after rocks (44 - 52.2%). Flamethower threatens an OHKO on Chien Pao while 2HKOing Corviknight and Kingambit, while Dazzling Gleam threatens an OHKO on Roaring Moon, 2HKOes Hisuian Samurott, and chips Mandibuzz. Knock Off is another option, allowing Azelf to cripple switch-ins such as Empoleon, Hisuian Goodra, and Scream Tail without the loss of its own item. Azelf pairs fantastically with fast, frail offensive pivots such as Barraskewda, Regieleki, and Roaring Moon, who appreciate Psychic Terrain eliminating their priority weakness, while forming a potent VoltTurn core with Azelf, taking advantage of the special walls like Hisuian Goodra and Heatran that it can struggle with.. Azelf is frail and vulnerable to entry hazards, so bulky hazard removers such as Corviknight, Great Tusk, and Intimidate fluffy works fine too, and since quaquaval should exclusively be defensive you dont need to specify Quaquaval are recommended teammates, allowing Azelf to come in repeatedly over the course of a game to threaten out strong offensive threats that pressure these walls.

Trick allows Azelf to cripple an opponent with a Choice Scarf mention how it's more crippling on more passive pokemon like Blissey, Empoleon, and Scream Tail, securing a 2HKO on Manaphy with Expanding Force after removing its Assault Vest with Stealth Rock. this is worded a little awkwardly - maybe mention the entry hazard chip (not just stealth rock) earlier in the sentence Flamethower threatens an OHKO on Chien Pao while 2HKOing Corviknight and Kingambit, while Dazzling Gleam threatens an OHKO on offensive Roaring Moon, 2HKOes Hisuian Samurott, and chips Mandibuzz, (AC) forcing it to Roost. With its high Speed allowing it to outspeed outpace Not so sure on this, but saying "speed" twice in rapid succession doesn't seem necessary here nearly the entire unboosted meta metagame, a deep movepool, and powerful Psychic Surge-boosted Expanding Force, Azelf functions as one of the best anti-offense pivots and cleaners in the tier. U-turn provides fast pivoting, (RC) while threatening an OHKO on Meowscarada and putting pressure on the foe. Trick allows Azelf to cripple a passive opponent foe such as Blissey or Empoleon with a Choice Scarf, while also securing a 2HKO on Manaphy with Expanding Force and minor hazard chip with Expanding Force after removing its Assault Vest. I saw in the QC notes that "Stealth Rock" was replaced with "minor hazard chip", but I highly recommend that be reversed. ""Minor hazard chip" is very vague, and while Spikes exist most players should know that Stealth Rock = one layer of Spikes in damage vs. neutral targets. Alternatively, maybe say "with Stealth Rock or one layer of Spikes"? This is QC-related so not my call, but I recommend talking with the QC team about this. Flamethower Flamethrower threatens an OHKO on Chien Pao while 2HKOing and a 2HKO on Corviknight and Kingambit, while Dazzling Gleam threatens an OHKO on offensive Roaring Moon, 2HKOes a 2HKO on Hisuian Samurott, and it chips Mandibuzz, forcing it to Roost. Knock Off is another option, allowing Azelf to cripple switch-ins such as Empoleon, Hisuian Goodra, and Scream Tail without the loss of its own item. Azelf pairs fantastically with fast, frail offensive pivots such as Barraskewda, Hisuian Electrode, and Roaring Moon, who which appreciate Psychic Terrain eliminating their priority weakness, while forming and they form a potent VoltTurn core with Azelf, taking advantage of the special walls that it can struggle with like Hisuian Goodra and Heatran that it can struggle with. Azelf is frail and vulnerable to entry hazards, so bulky hazard removers such as Corviknight, Great Tusk, and Quaquaval are recommended teammates, allowing Azelf to come in repeatedly over the course of a game to threaten out the Did you mean Azelf will force these "strong offensive threats" to switch out? In that case, replace "threaten out" with "force out" strong offensive threats that pressure these walls.

I’m sorry if I missed something, but Expanding Force doesn’t expand when you aren’t grounded, and Azelfs only ability is Levitate, so only if Gravity and Psychic Terrain is up is when Azelf can use Super Expanding Farce.

When you make your ability Psychic Surge, it replaces Levitate, letting you use boosted Eforce as well as ignore priority
