Banned deucer.
[Overview]

Despite Exeggutor's passive and somewhat dimwitted visage, it has established itself as a very capable offensive and defensive powerhouse. With two great abilities in Chlorophyll and Harvest, a bountiful movepool, and a good stat spread, Exeggutor is one of the most unpredictable and powerful Grass-types in NU. Unfortunately, Exeggutor's sluggish Speed stat holds it back. Even with its ability, Chlorophyll, doubling Exeggutor's Speed in the sun, it simply isn't fast enough to outpace one of the key Choice Scarf users, Jynx. Moreover, Exeggutor's low Special Defense and weakness to Bug-, Ice-, Dark-, and Flying-type moves makes it an open target for many of NU's powerful attackers. Nevertheless, so long as you capitalize on Exeggutor's prime characteristic—its immense versatility, then you're in for a sweet surprise.

[SET]
name: LumRest
move 1: Rest
move 2: Sleep Powder
move 3: Giga Drain
move 4: Psychic
item: Lum Berry
ability: Harvest
nature: Modest
evs: 248 HP / 176 SpA / 84 Spe
ivs: 0 Atk

[SET COMMENTS]

This set takes advantage of all of Exeggutor's best qualities, namely its amazing ability, Harvest, good bulk, and exceptional power. Lum Berry coupled with Harvest essentially makes Exeggutor impervious to status afflictions. Rest is one of the best ways to exploit Harvest, as it allows Exeggutor to fully heal itself in one turn. This makes Exeggutor a good counter to many weak walls such as Alomomola, Tangela, and Seismitoad. Sleep Powder makes Exeggutor even more annoying by crippling an incoming counter that can actually deal with its stalling ordeals. Giga Drain is the preferred STAB move because of its acceptable power and ability to regain copious amounts of HP from the likes of Alomomola. Psychic is Exeggutor's more powerful STAB so that it can deal with certain Grass-type resists and OHKO almost all Fighting-types in NU.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

0 Attack IVs ensure that Exeggutor takes minimal damage from Foul Play and confusion. The HP EV spread is tailored to survive Choice Band Sawk's Ice Punch, Life Orb Samurott's Ice Beam, and Choice Scarf Primape's U-turn. 84 Speed EVs allows Exeggutor to get the jump on the likes of Alomomola and thus effectively counter it.

 • works quite well with Pokemon who have difficulty with mola + tangela or roselia core
 • of them, carrocosta, kangskhan, and samurott all appreciates eggy's support
 • it can even work as a wonderful counter to defensive seismitoed
 • this helps pokemon like golurk and piloswine
 • in general, it serves as a great counter to defensive water-types
 • so any teams that likes them removed while wanting to maintain offensive presence benefit from this set
 • Substitute + Sitrus Berry allows eggy to dodge status and attacks like sucker punch
[SET]
name: SubSeed
move 1: Substitute
move 2: Leech Seed
move 3: Psychic
move 4: Protect / Sleep Powder
item: Sitrus Berry
ability: Harvest
nature: Bold
evs: 248 HP / 176 Def / 84 Spe
ivs: 0 Atk

[SET COMMENTS]

If you're looking for something that can annoy your opponent and stall out their entire team, this is it. Harvest makes this set possible, as it can restore Exeggutor's Sitrus Berry 50% of the time, allowing it to continually stall out its opponent. The combination of Substitute + Leech Seed allows Exeggutor to outstall entire teams. Psychic is Exeggutor's best STAB to deal with Grass-type resists such as Sawsbuck and Roselia. Protect can be used to further stall for Leech Seed recovery and even scout for moves, while Sleep Powder gives Exeggutor a free turn to set up or incapacitates one of the few Pokemon that can deal with this set, Mandibuzz.

 • One of the most annoying sets you could possibly face
 • With the combination of Sub + Leech Seed + Lum Berry + Harvest, eggy has the potential to outstall Pokemon who hit it for super effective damage,
 • including, (but not limited to), Jynx, Charizard, Scolipede, and skuntank.
 • Psychic targets Pokemon that are immune to leech seed, including Vileplume, Roselia, and Tangela
 • Protect can provide even more stalling shenanigans
 • Sleep Powder on the other hand can helps eggy take out a counter and give it a free set up turns
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

 • 0 atk ivs to take minimal foul play damage
 • evs allow it to outspeed uninvested base 65 speed pokemon such as Roselia and Alomomola
 • physical defensive spread is best b/c of its good bulk and resistances
 • paralysis or toxic spikes support works exceptionally well with this set, by either giving eggy more free turns or allowing it to stall more easily
 • scolipede and garbodor make are the best partners for setting up t-spikes up
 • liepard and rotom-s can provide t-wave support and also have decent synergy
 • defensive partners like alomomola and metang appreciate eggy's ability to take on electric- and ground-type attackers
 • Heal Bell support from Audino and Lickilicky
 • Alomomola to take on scolipede
[SET]
name: Choice Specs
move 1: Leaf Storm
move 2: Psychic
move 3: Sleep Powder
move 4: Hidden Power Ground / Giga Drain
item: Choice Specs
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Modest
evs: 80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
 • Has the capability of 2HKOing the entire tier (bar mandibuz)
 • Leaf Storm hits like a nuke, capable of shredding through resists such as skuntank
 • Psychic works well in targeting Grass resistant threats, such as Sawsbuck
 • Sleep Powder seems odd on a specs set, but it gives eggy the ability to guarantee no safe switch-ins
 • Hidden Power Ground can be used to target bulky Skuntank and Metang
 • While Giga Drain can work as a reliable stab alternative to Leaf Storm
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
 • Speed evs allow it to outspeed max speed golem and put it sleep or OHKO
 • max speed with timid nature
 • due to its ability to force switches, stealth rock support is highly recommended
 • golem and golurk in particular have good synergy and can set up the move
 • pairs quite well with offensive seismitoad, as both cover each other's weaknesses quite well and have great offensive synergy
 • scarf sawk also makes a good partner as it benefits from eggy's ability to punch holes in the team, allowing to sweep late-game
 • scarf primeape and swellow also makes good partners for the same reason as sawk
[SET]
name: Sun Sweeper
move 1: Sunny Day
move 2: Solarbeam
move 3: Psychic
move 4: Sleep Powder / Hidden Power Fire
item: Life Orb
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Timid
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
 • Fixes eggy's speed issues
 • Sunny Day is what allows it to boost its speed, not only that but it can support fire-types such as charizard and juices up eggy's own attacks
 • SolarBeam is eggy's best stab in the sunlight and can be used constantly with no drawbacks
 • Psychic nails the like of Brivairy and Charizard
 • A sun-boosted Hidden Power Fire has the capability of doing serious damage to Steel-types like metang
 • On the other hand, Sleep Powder allows it to dodge suck punch from skuntank, kangaskhan, and shiftry
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
 • stealth rock support is helpful to snag a KO on Rotom-S with psychic
 • golem, carrocosta, and metang can all set up rocks
 • can work as either a stand alone sweeper or on dedictated sun teams
 • if on sun teams, volbeat, Regirock, and liepard can all set up sunny day reliably
 • Regirock even has the added benefit of luring in Pokemon that eggy can come in on, such as fighting- and ground-type attackers like golem and sawk
 • other sun teammates include charizard, as it can get past skuntank and metang easily
 • shiftry is also a good partner for its ability to take out bulky psychic-types such as gardevoir and musharna, more reliably
 • other usable moves include substitute, giga drain, and nature power
 • substitute is useful to dodge priority attacks like sucker punch, while making it much harder to revenge kill
 • giga drain can be used as a more reliable grass-type stab, which is especially useful when sunny day is not up
 • nature's power on the other hand provides eggy with the ability to destroy both metang and skuntank
 • the move also has the added benefit of not allowing sucker punch to activate
 • finally, heat rock can be used to extend the duration of sunny day
[Other Options]

Toxic and Hidden Power Ice are both plausible on the Choice Specs set. With Toxic, Exeggutor can cripple common switch-ins such as Mandibuzz. With Hidden Power Ice, Exeggutor can demolish bulky Flying-types such as Mandibuzz, Braviary, and Altaria. A Swords Dance set or a mixed set can also work, but Exeggutor can sweep much easier with its special rather than its physical attacks. Speaking of physical attacks, Wood Hammer can be used in conjunction with a Specially Defensive spread so that it can lure out Jynx and smash her to pieces. A dual screens set can also work given Exeggutor access to Sleep Powder and Explosion, though its low Speed tends to get in the way of such an option. In regards to Exeggutor's low Speed, there are two other ways Exeggutor can fix this issue. The first involves a hilarious Choice Scarf set, which can catch many potential revenge killers or faster threats off guard. The second involves a Trick Room set, though just like the Choice Scarf set, there will still be a few other Pokemon capable of outspeeding and OHKOing Exeggutor. Instead of trying to speed up, Exeggutor can slow down its opponents with Stun Spore. By paralyzing its opponents, Exeggutor can give a slow wallbreaker such as Eelektross, plenty of opportunities to obliterate the opposing team. Unfortunately, Exeggutor has difficulty finding room for Stun Spore. In a similar vain, Exeggutor can use Wish to support its team, but its HP stat simply isn't high enough to make use of this move. Finally, Power Swap + Leaf Storm is another fun option. Once Exeggutor uses Leaf Storm, it can pass the -2 Special Attack drops to its opponent; this not only allows Exeggutor to whip out another full power Leaf Storm, but by weakening the opponent, it can potentially survive a super effective special attack.

[Checks and Counters]

Any Pokemon with insane offenses, versatility, and access to a sleep-inducing move is essentially without counters. The first step to counter Exeggutor is to flush out Sleep Powder, afterwords, there are a multitude of Pokemon that can handle it. The most prominent one is Mandibuzz. Mandibuzz can take anything from Exeggutor and easily Roost of the damage, from there, it can 2HKO Exeggutor with Brave Bird. Mandibuzz is crippled by the rare Toxic and Trick, so a little caution must be taken. Specially Defensive Zweilous is the next best counter because it sponge Exeggutor's STABs and most coverage attacks; however, it will be outstalled with a combination of Substitute + Leech Seed or like Mandibuzz, be crippled with Toxic or Trick.

Skuntank is the next best check, while it is 2HKO'd by a Choice Specs-boosted Leaf Storm, it can easily retaliate with a powerful Crunch or Pursuit trap a fleeing Exeggutor. Regice and Articuno are also great checks thanks to their fantastic defenses, though both of them are quite easy to wear down because of their crippling Stealth Rock weakness. Metang and Bronzor can also take on Exeggutor, though a Choice Specs-boosted Leaf Storm will doe a sizeable amount of damage. Sap Sipper Pokemon such as Miltank are of the few that don't care about Exeggutor's Choice specs Leaf Storm and because of its overall great defenses, access to reliable recovery, it also makes a good check. Altaria and Lickilicky can also check Exeggutor, though they risk being outstalled with Leech Seed or torn apart by a powerful Psychic.

Fortunately, checking Exeggutor isn't as difficult. Choice Scarf Jynx in particualar makes an excellent check as it can outspeed even Sunny Day varients and OHKO with Ice Beam. Charizard can easily switch into Exeggutor's Grass-type moves and OHKO with its powerful Fire-type STABs. Scolipede and Haunter have difficulty switching in, but they can also take Exeggutor down. Finally, priority attacks from Kangaskhan, Cacturne, and Shiftry can take Exeggutor out in desperate situations.

Specs set should be:

Eggy @ Specs
Modest Nature
176 HP / 252 Spa / 84 Spe
Leaf Storm
Psychic
Sleep Powder
Hidden Power Ground / Giga Drain

with Psyshock in AC.

The point of Specs Eggy is to get in and force a switch. You really only need to outrun uninvested base 65's (Alomomola before it can get a Wish off on you). HP Ground isnt strictly necessary since:

252+ SpA Choice Specs Exeggutor Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 220 SpD Skuntank: 202-238 (58.21 - 68.58%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Skunk can't switch in twice. I did a bunch of calcs on supposed bulkymons that could theoretically switch into Eggy, but they all "lose" except Ludicolo which outspeeds this spread and can heal and outstall. Put a spread of 136 HP / 252 Spa / 120 Spe in the AC, this one outspeeds uninvested base 70 speed mons.

I would like LumRest to be added and be placed as the first set.

[SET]
name: LumRest
move 1: Rest
move 2: Sleep Powder
move 3: Giga Drain
move 4: Psychic
item: Lum Berry
ability: Harvest
nature: Modest
evs: 152 HP / 96 Def / 176 SpA / 84 Spe

A very good set that takes advantage of both Eggy's good typing, bulk, ability, and its offensive presence. Completely counters Alomomola while threatening its common partners in Roselia and Tangela as well. In general Giga Drain and Psychic have good coverage together only really missing out on Skuntank and Metang, the latter who this set beats 1v1. Lum Berry gets rid of any status such as Alomomola's Toxic and Tangela's Sleep Powder as well as make Rest into a really good healing move.

The EVs were modified from Annoyer's original spread of: 152 HP / 40 Def / 152 SpA / 68 SpD / 96 Spe which allowed Eggy to live CB Sawk's Ice Punch after SR as well as live a LO Samurott Ice Beam and retaliate back. Spread was changed to what it is now because Sawk now uses Adamant with Choice Band and needs 96 Def to survive and with special Samurott now using Megahorn, the special defense investment is not needed. What the current EVs allow you to do are: always live Adamant CB Sawk's Ice Punch and Scarf Primeape's U-turn even after Stealth Rock damage as both do a maximum of 86%. 176 SpA with Modest is a Special Attack jump point and 84 Spe allows Eggy to outspeed uninvested base 65 Pokemon such as Alomomola.

Partners for this include: Carracosta, Kangaskhan, and Primeape all hate Alomomola and Tangela which Eggy effortlessly dispatches of. For Carracosta it can also remove Defensive Seismitoad from the game and Eggy literally beats every Kangaskhan counter (including Metang thanks to Sleep Powder + Rest outstalling Mash + Toxic)

Hmm, okay. I've never used that set before, so I'll take it out for a spin before I add. I'll get all the above changes soon.

Other changes you can do are removing Hidden Power Fire from SubSeed and making Psychic the only move there. STAB is important and Psychic hits all the relevant Grass-type Pokemon almost as hard (SE HP Fire has 140 BP and STAB Psychic has 135 BP) while hitting Roselia for super effective damage.

I think the Sunny Day set should be more of a standalone Sunny Day sweeper with Heat Rock, Giga Drain, Substitute, and Nature Power (gets past Skuntank Sucker Punch) in AC.

Treecko, tennisace, and I talked about it and came up with this for the set.

Also if you want a quick team to test that LumRest Eggy, I made a team here a little bit ago with it. You can try it out!

Hey, I was going to post a "VM" or whatever they're called now on your page, but I can't view your full profile for some weird reason.

At any rate, is this still coming along? If you'd like me to, I can pick this up for you since I've used Exeggutor a fair amount. Let us know either way!

Yeah, I'm still working on this. I'll have it done by the next day or so. I already got a similar message from someone else. :P

Sorry for the delay, but the skeleton is up.

So I made a few changes, the addition of the trick room mostly, after some testing I found that it was good enough to warrant its own set.

I changed the evs from the sunny day set to outspeed scarf rotom-s in the sun, b/c it can otherwise outspeed eggy in the sun and kill it with air slash, which isn't fun.
Instead, the reverse happens b/c eggy can ohko it with psychic after rocks

Oh, and if someone can check out vileplume and give it its 3rd qc check, that'd be great too.

Honestly, Trick Room should still be AC. There isn't much reason to use it over the Sun Sweeper, since the sun sweeper not only doubles your speed, but also gives you a 100% accurate 120 BP STAB move to spam (Solarbeam is much better than Leaf Storm), boosts the power of HP Fire, and means that Pokemon you normally outspeed are still slower than you. In Trick Room, you get outsped by stuff like Camerupt or Eelektross, which can hit you with SE fire moves. You're damaged by priority moves either way, and finally, you're suggesting people use Leaf Storm on the TR set, which means you have to switch out before TR is up, or explode, which defeats the purpose of a TR sweeper set.

Also on the first LumRest set, you should mention that Substitute + Sitrus Berry is a viable alternative to Rest + Lum, as it allows you to predict around Sucker Punches while also avoiding status moves.

i think the specs set is a bit lacking in the speed department since it's so offensively oriented. 176 speed is a good number to hit since you can ko or put golem to sleep before it can do anything but even max speed with timid could be an option so you can get the upper hand on missy and the numerous pokemon that try to speed creep it.

also maybe give a spdef set with wood hammer a mention in oo. the main point of it is to lure in jynx, survive ice beam and avoid sleep with lum berry harvest while ohkoing it back with wood hammer. it's really niche but i have had success testing it out. it also does well against special samurott and ludicolo.

[SET] (LumRest)
 • Talked with QC (ebeast and FLCL) and we decided that you should change EVs to 248 HP / 176 SpA / 84 Spe, as it takes physical hits slightly better and special hits almost exactly the same
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS] (LumRest)
 • You can add on the list of things it can take w/ max HP LO Samurott Ice Beam, as it does 99% max! It can also still take U-turn and CB Ice Punch from the things you listed
 • The last point on Sub+Lum should be Sub+Sitrus, and make sure to mention that it better allows Exeggutor to scout for Sucker Punch and protect from status
[SET COMMENTS] (SubSeed)
 • Make sure to talk about Sleep Powder
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS] (SubSeed)
 • On the mention of it outspeeding uninvested base 65 Speed Pokemon, specifically note Roselia and Alomomola, as they are the ones in that Speed tier you aim to beat
 • Scolipede kind of does conflict synergy-wise (both weak to Fire- and Flying-type moves), so I would change that point just to say something like "work the best in this role" or something along those lines
 • I'd like Heal Bell support to be added here, because if this set gets hit with Toxic, it's gonna struggle for the rest of the match. You can add like Alomomola to take on Scolipede and Audino/Lickilicky to take special hits in general
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS] (Choice Specs)
 • Specify that it outspeeds max Speed Golem
[SET] (Sun Sweeper)
 • tbh this can really just be 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe. I don't really see a reason for the extra 7 points in HP when you're wearing yourself down with Life Orb anyways, and the extra Speed at least allows you to tie with opposing Exeggutor in the sun
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS] (Sun Sweeper)
 • Cut the mention of Murkrow as a partner to set sun because it's terrible without Eviolite and without a weather rock, there's no reason to use it
 • You can replace the mention of Murkrow with Regirock, since it lures in Fighting-, Ground-, Water-, and Grass-type attacks that can give Exeggutor a free switch
[Other Options]
 • Add Power Swap + Leaf Storm set to OO, it's not very reliable but it's loads of fun~
[Checks and Counters]
 • Add specially defensive Zweilous; it shits on all of its sets, as it's able to phaze out of the SubSeed set, can absorb sleep since it runs RestTalk, and takes hardly any (if any) damage from any of its sets
Let me know (through IRC/VM) when you've implemented these, and I'll come back to stamp!

Make sure to put "Spe" in the EV spread for LumRest

Otherwise this looks good!

5baxTSm.gif

QC Approved 1/3

[Overview]
Remove the second point, it does indeed have the highest SpA of all Grass types but saying so doesn't say anything about how and what Eggy does in the meta. Combine points 1, 3, and 4 together; it's versatile because it has good abilities, a good movepool, and good stats.

On LumRest's EVs you have it as Spe 84 rather than 84 Spe.

[Set Comments] (LumRest)
Add that LumRest also lets it become a 100% counter to Alomomola as a well as a good check to Tangela.

[Additional Comments] (LumRest)
You still mention Def EVs when talking about the spread rather than HP EVs, so fix that. While you're talking about EVs mention that 0 Atk IVs reduce the damage taken from Foul Play. Remove the mention of Substitute + Sitrus, it is honestly completely inferior to LumRest for the purpose of what this set accomplishes.

[Additional Comments] (SubSeed)
When talking about the EVs bring up that Eggy is physically defensive because its typing is better suited for taking physical hits and with it already having decent Defense, it makes it easier to set up on things. Also mention 0 Atk IVs are there to reduce Foul Play damage.

[Other Options]
I would replace mention of Moonlight with Wish. Moonlight is completely inferior to LumRest that it shouldn't even be OO, but at least Wish has other uses.
