[SET COMMENTS]
* With a solid base 135 Attack stat, ability in Sand Rush, and great typing, Excadrill can easily find its way onto any sand team. Excadrill's typing allows it to be a proficient Dynamax attacker, with its Max Quake and Max Steelspike boosting its defenses. This makes Tyranitar a brilliant partner, as, while in sand, Excadrill can outspeed any threat in the metagame.
* Earthquake is Excadrill's primary choice for a Ground STAB move, as it turns into a strong Max Quake while also being a decent spread option outside of Dynamax. High Horsepower is another option that has a higher single target Base Power at the cost of a small amount of accuracy; however, its main strength is that Grassy Terrain from Rillaboom doesn't decrease its power unlike Earthquake.
* Iron Head is Excadrill's strongest physical Steel-type move, allowing for defense boosts as Max Steelspike as well as offering the chance to flinch when not Dynamaxed.
* Rock Slide is a good coverage move for Excadrill that can help it overcome the likes of Charizard, Zapdos and, Galarian Moltres; it becomes the base for Max Rockfall, allowing Excadrill to set the sand in the absence of Tyranitar. It also enables the chance to flinch both opposing Pokemon due to Excadrill's blistering Speed when in sand.
* Swords Dance gives Excadrill the opportunity to become a potent setup sweeper, as well as the potential to undo any Intimidate drops from the likes of Incineroar or Landorus-T.
* Life Orb is the main item for Excadrill, as it allows for a consistent boost to its damage output at the cost of some recoil. Weakness Policy is a great alternative due to Excadrill's desire to Dynamax, giving it the necessary bulk in conjunction with the chance to boost its defenses. Focus Sash is a solid item for Excadrill due to its poor bulk outside of Dynamax, and it is best used alongside Swords Dance to give it a good opportunity for a turn of setup.
* An Adamant nature is best used when using Sand Rush, as partners such as Tyranitar can easily set sand for Excadrill making up for the lack of Speed-boosting nature. A Jolly nature with Mold Breaker can be considered to act as a check to Rotom-H and Rotom-W.
