Moves
========
- EQ and Iron Head are STAB moves that get good coverage and hit really hard after a SD boost. Drill Run can be used if you don't want to damage your allies so often.
- Rock Slide hits Flying-types like Mega Pinsir for super effective damage. It also hits neutrally Rotom-W, Skarmory and Celesteela, which are common switch-ins to Excadrill. It is also able to 2HKO standard Pelipper, which would otherwise be troublesome.
- Swords Dance gives it a noticeable incerase in power output, allowing him to 2HKO physically defensive Ferrothorn after a boost with Earthquake, and KO Landorus-T as long as it is uninvested.

- A Calm nature and full investment on HP and SpD allow Excadrill to tank hits from fearsome special sweepers like Mega Alakazam's Focus Blast, which will do up to 70%, making Excadrill a viable counter to him, as long as he is provided with a safe switch in.
- Mold Breaker is quite a unique ability when using Stealth Rock and Toxic, being able to status / set up rocks in front of Mega Sableye, which is very unique given its nearly-immunity to status and ability to bounce back hazards with Magic Bounce.
- Leftovers give Excadrill a passive form of recovery which helps him survive though a match.

Other Options
=============
- Focus Sash + Stealth Rock can be a decent lead
- Rockium Z can throw powerful hits at +2, dealing up to 84% to physically defensive Rotom-W and 74% to mixed defensive Celesteela, both of which are common answers to Excadrill.
- Return can hit neutrally some of Excadrill's most common switch-ins, but it is only worth-it on SD sets, and even then, it's not as powerful as you would like to.
- A set with Chople or Shuca Berry can be a good lure for some Pokemon, but offensive variants should switch out in these cases and defensive variants should be able to take a hit, so it's generaly better as a concept idea.
===================
**Select Bulky Steel-Types**: Physically defensive variants of Skarmory, Celesteela, Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn can stomach most hits from Excadrill and phaze him, stall him out or set up on him. However, some of them, namely Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn, should watch out for +2 Life Orb-boosted hits.
**Bulky Water-Types**: Mega Slowbro is a pretty good counter to Excadrill, since it has huge physical defense and acess to reliable recovery in Slack Off while being able to 2HKO back with Scald. Other Water-types like Rotom-W can also check him, but they should watch out for boosted hits or neutral Z moves.
**Physical Walls**:
**Opposing Weather**:
